Mylene grabs Walter’s sleeve and pulls him along. “Let’s be off. Kierro, hurry and consult with the others. See what you can do with this proposal. Get them to agree to share information on their experiences, and I will be agreeable to traveling alongside them. Go on, now. I will count on you to bring that same compelling appeal to compassion and reason to them as you have to us, darling Kierro.”
Kierro nods, but waits for Walter’s response, allowing him to consult with Higgul if needed regarding what he had said.
Walter to Kierro...
"I will follow the Lady as she wishes." Walter says with a nod to Milene. "I thank you for your concern, but we are able to care for ourselves, and I for the Lady if needed." He glances to Higgul. "Higgul and I hunted these woods daily for some time now, I would trust my own knowledge of the place a might bit more than that of a group of erased people who cannot probably even remember the last forest they traveled through." He nods to Kierro then and follows after Milene.
"Walter is a lowlife." Higgul comments once Milene and Walter are far enough away that they cannot hear. "I don't like to speak badly, but he is that and more. I'd fear for our safety more if he were with the group than if he is not." He looks down the road after the disappearing pair. It is clear he feels bad about what he has said, and you would have noticed that his normally easy-going attitude has departed for a moment, a cold look in his eyes. "I've managed to stop him from doing some quite nasty things over the time I've been with him, but who knows what he has done when I wasn't there to intervene. Just be glad he is gone and let's see if we can find what you are all seeking."
You move ahead of the group, soon finding yourself and Walter jogging along the rode, forest to either side of you.
Leto...
The light proved to be in a nexus area, a bridge spanning what would have been the main sewer channel further along. There was no bridge where Leto came out though, which made him very glad the sewer was not active. He crunched through ancient muck as he forded the shallow ditch sewege would have run through ages ago, then came up on the walkway on the far side. Moving towards the bridge, he found stairs leading upwards. Light filtered in from up the stairs, coming from a door that looked to have recently given way to a large boulder that had fallen against it. The rotted door looked to be fairly freshly sundered, and the stone had marks that made Leto sure it had fallen recently. Moving up to the door, he glanced through and found the ruins of a town all around. The rock looked to have been part of a wall that had finally given up the ghost and fallen, only to come crashing into this door and breaking the way open. Climbing out, Leto took in the town, or what had been a town in a time long past. Nothing but ruins were left, the forest more than half-reclaming the town already. The only thing of interest he saw was a fairly well-tended road that ran through the town. He made his way in that direction and soon stood in the middle of that road. Going by the prints and wagon tracks, the road was used still.
Everyone else...
The main group is about an hour out of town when Milene and Walter start to break off from you. About a half-hour later you hear the sound of hooves on the road behind you. Not long after that four horses come racing along, with humans in red cloaks on their backs. One of the horses appears to be a well-bred horse of prime stock. The other 3 look to be nags, though two look like they have been well cared for and in good physical condition. Two of the horses, the well-tended nags, are being ridden bareback, while the other two have saddles.
"Move aside!" The rider of the prime horse calls, the four horses not slowing one bit as they race towards the group.
Once Mylene and her roadie move away from the group. Tessa circles back to rejoin the group. She is trying her best to avoid the woman as her attitude grates on Tessa's nerves. She is struggling to ignore her inclinations to cut her throat to silent her questions, arrogant statements, and be done with her. Tessa knows that the group represents her best chance of learning what happened to them; but one or two companions won't be missed. She has a couple in mind should the opportunity present itself.
As the humans approach on horse back and with her mind dealing with the arrogance of Mylene. She takes offense at his arrogance. So many think they have the right to command others, especially her.
Tessa snarls at him, "I don't care for your attitude little man. I believe we have every right to the roadway as much as your selves."

She was brave, that little Tessa, Vilana would grant her that. More like "mad" but it's a fine line between two conditions sometimes. For herself, Vilana stepped aside and pulled Sylcan with her, should he decide to repeat Tessa's heroic - the weight of the horse was much bigger than theirs combined, they would simply not notice and obstacle on the road. And something was telling Vilana, the guards (were there even guards in the town?) would not care much about strangers killed on the road.
Honor moves aside. "A fast moving horse can do a lot of damage to a body,"she advises Tessa. "Worse still if you damage the horse. Just let them by and they'll be out of our way."
Naivara watches Mylene walk away, wanting to follow them but also aware of the fact she'd never be able to scout properly and stay hidden at the pace they're setting. She returns to the forest and continues to watch out for threats.
As the riders and their horses start moving for the group, hoping it doesn't come to violence but drawing her bow and an arrow just in case.
Kierro gulps as Mylene and Walter leave, concerned for their safety despite assurances that they'll be fine. He isn't sure how to convince the other seven; many of them have already made their views of Mylene clear. He returns to the group.
When the riders approach them, he moves off to the side and calls out to the halfling: "It's alright Tessa; they just need enough space to pass us! It's a few feet off to the side, then we can go back once the riders pass!"
Though Mylene jogs while trying to maintain a dainty look - arms arcing out up and to the sides, her fingers held against her palms, within the fashionable gloves she wears- she prioritizes the pace, and wonders at how silly it must look. She maintains that poise and confidence can make anything look good, however, and continues, letting out a spontaneous laugh with the exertion. "A good jog now and then benefits the heart and lungs, I'm sure. Excellent for our fitness, and staying in shape."
She tries to keep a part of her mind focused on the intuitive pull to the east, as they travel, to confirm if it is still just a generalized "east" or veering off in any direction, getting weaker or stronger, etc.
Tessa holds her ground, her hands on her hips with a glare at the lead rider. She will be Ready to perform an acrobatic dodge and swing onto the horse behind the pompous fool, using his leg and forward momentum should he attempt to ride her down.
As the pompus @$$ attempts to ride her down, Tessa deftly sidesteps and grabs a hold of his leg. She swings her self up behind him while holding his leg free of the stirrup in an attempt to unseat him and throw him to the ground.

You are up behind the mounted rider. You can only do one thing at a time, so you managed to climb up onto the mount this round, as your readied action stated. The rider tried to grapple you, but failed. Now it is your turn again.
to the others...
The horse has not stopped, so they are now 20 feet past where they were when the halfling climbed up onto the horse behind the rider. You can each be at the road and take an action if you wish to do so. Latrious and Naivara, the horses are about even with you at this point. Everyone else, they are 20 feet past you.

Latrius is already on the side of the road from scouting, but he’ll stay hidden and observe what his companions do.
Edit: he’ll ready an arrow just in case things turn ugly.
