Xeno bolsters his defences. Swigg tries some stuff but it doesn't work so well this time.
The flag grows brighter as Xeno gets closer to capturing it. (2/5)
(That's my bad for not thinking about the somatic components of Thunderwave. I thought I could avoid retconning as much as possible, but I was wrong. Too late to change now, but I'll try to catch it next time.)

"Oh would you kindly stop throwing those stingers at me. It's getting silly at this point."Xeno states dryly. He barks something in elvish as he moves southward for the other platform. And assuming he didn't somehow accidentally bump into Swigg along the way, Fonix joins his side to unleash another gout of flames. "That knife fight offer is on the table, in case you grow tired my friend~"He said, whether he caught wind of Swigg's position or not.
But if he does after that last blast of fire, he had another trick beside covering his ears after putting away the staff.
Ma: Over to i5. [Specifically, moving in this order in case it matters:i7-J7-J6-i6-i5 Ba: Command Fonix to move to H5, and activate flamethrowers to engulf [H6, H7/I7, H8/I8] in fire. If Swigg is any of those spaces, Dex 14 save for 1/2 of 4 fire damage and Sanctuary falls. If not, spell remains active. Ac: 'Hear no Evil' Maneuver. (aka covering his ears unless made aware of Swigg presence via above.)
Xeno fails to find any evidence of Swigg, so he goes back to covering his ears.

Xeno uncovers his ears once more and barks out a command, sending Fonix scurrying and burning an area. In spite of any temptations this time, he shuffled to a new spot near the flag, covered his ears after the flames, having a thought of a new plan.

Xeno has conquered every challenge put before him to become the Champion of the Coliseum!" Swigg is given a purse with 400 gold and gains 3800 xp. Xeno gains 1000 gp and 7500 xp. The next match will feature all interested level-3 competitors. (This is the same match that Orileo set up, but with a DM switcheroo.)
It's the first evening of the recently revived Coliseum of Glory. With the much anticipated level 5 match scheduled for the following day, the arena workers have worked tireless to uncover and restore more of the Coliseums arenas. As a result... The Stony Field is available once more for fresh meat to do battle!
To win... King of the hill. A flag in the center of the arena will be available to capture in the third round. Hold the area within 10 feet while keeping your opponents at bay to win the match.
Time... Night - The battle field is lit with Torches and Dancing Lights but darkness still looms. Checks relying on sight will suffer disadvantage even with Darkvision.
A human warrior comes out to introduce the contestants.
"Robbit, the shadow warrior!" A frog-like creature steps forward, clad in armour and bearing weapons. "Sha'kar, the sword dancer!" An elven wizard carrying a deadly rapier. "King T, bonded to other worlds!" A lightly-armoured man with drowse ancestry carrying a strange staff. "And finally... 5... Amaruve, druid of the moon!" A wood elf carrying a staff and three magic stones. At the last moment, ... and Deadwood appear next to King T. Amaruve is teleported to the other side.
Robbit will be on a team with... 2... Sha'kar.
