I'd like to play another PC's sidekick. Perhaps someone saved my character's life who then swore to protect him/her as a bodyguard or perhaps whose family adopted my character as a child and they grew up together and vowed to go off adventuring together.
"Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!'
The royal elderberry noble family. You just a urchin that mopped the floors of the estate. On the day that the castle was raided you saved me and reunited with my family. We took you in as our own.... but as the years went on the yearning of finding out who you really are became to great. Thus setting off to find your parents. I couldn’t just leave me brother out in the world on his own!
Also allows for the elf style picture of a grown human adolescent being tucked in by a Halfling and not fitting in any furniture or clothing.

Sounds good to me. I look forward to carting you around.
Still a considerable amount of time to get applications in. One thing I'd like to point out that I should have said from the get-go, this campaign will take characters all around the setting, so I am also looking for a character preferably from each region/province, or at least a character who has been to multiple and could give a first-hand, meaningful, detailed description of them. Loving what I've seen so far, keep it up!

Race - High Elf
Class - Druid (Circle of Stars [if you are cool with UA])
Background - Sage
Backstory - Thea comes from the coasts of Mazyliak and has always been mystified by the cosmos and staring at them in a tower in a great elven city was never going to be enough. Her parents and numerous sibilings didn't understand her fascination and she was sent to learn her magic as soon as she was of age. Being different from her family didn't really change anything but did lead to an apathy towards them and those in her community. After learning everything she could she took a job as a researcher but researching from a city was not her style. Knowing that she would never be able experience the stars and the moon in person she quit her job as a researcher, packed up everything she had and decided to travel and experience the world while mapping the cosmos and learning about the importance of astrology in different cultures. She has been taking on jobs in different places to have more reasons to explore and to fund this expedition
Hi! Very interested in potentially joining. Happy to adjust my character as needed to fit in with the campaign setting and the party. (Also I picked a region at random as I wasn't sure which one would be the most appropriate based off of her background)
Name: Evi
Race: Human (Variant)
Class: Warlock 1 (The Genie (UA))
Background: Urchin
Alignment: CN
Backstory:
Evi has been alone for almost as long as she can remember. With her parents dying unexpectedly from a disease that swept through the city on the Mazyliakian coast, she's was forced to survive on her own by doing whatever she could to avoid unwanted attention and living off the scraps (or the occasionally grifted goods) of others. One day while walking through the city, Evi came across an unusual ring lying casually on the side of the street. Thinking it was just her lucky day, Evi picked it up and brought it to her hideout. As soon as she put the ring on and tried to shine it, the ring "activated" and transported her over the realm of a powerful Djinni who saw potential in her and granted a portion of his power to help better herself and reach her potential. Unfortunately for Evi, when she was brought back to her realm, she ended up reappearing in the city ruler's mansion during the middle of a feast! Though relentlessly pursued for weeks by the royal guards, Evi was able to eventually escape the city with the assistance of her newly gifted powers. On the run and away from the only home she's ever known, Evi is about to begin the greatest adventure of her young life!

Name: Tender
Race: Tiefling
Class: Way of Mercy Monk if UA allowed - if not, then probably Way of the Open Hand.
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Backstory:
Tender grew up in a monastery in Thararaglath, on the edges of several smaller towns, learning all manner of things - martial arts, healing; even finer arts such as the flute and painting. It was a good life; they were not a secluded monastery, and Tender often found her way out to the nearby towns to trade for goods, often selling her paintings or playing the flute to entertain children, enticing the bolder ones into whirling dances - the Dancing Dragon they often called her, for her dragon-like feet and reptilian tail; the orange scaling that stood out stark against her navy skin. However, it was not an idyll life; there were often bandit attacks, undead rising to take the living with them, all sorts of calls for aid - Tender learned the way of Mercy on the front lines, as both healer and the person to slip a dagger between the ribs of those who were suffering (or in danger of being turned into unsightly, dangerous things). It was their duty, after all, to help the people surrounding the monastery, and a duty that Tender took seriously.
However, at the age of twenty-five, Tender faced her own tragedy: an attack on the monastery, on her home, that left her brothers, sisters, and teachers torn limb from limb. The sight of it haunts her to this day, though she does her best to fight the memories and the nightmares of terrifying screams and screeches, howls and dying moans. She still manages to find a smile, to dance within the warmth of a fire, to offer mercy to those who need it. As the last of the monks left, Tender found her way out into the world, making it her duty to hunt monsters where she could, to help those she found who needed it, whether it be with a healing hand, or a dagger slipped between the ribs. Of course, rumors often follow the navy-skinned tiefling: did she really fight off the attackers herself, coming away scarred and alone, but alive; perhaps, even some sort of monster herself? Is it true she put down thirty-nine survivors of the attack, young acolytes who were suffering, either mortally wounded or turning into ghastly creatures? It is difficult to tell, looking at the dancing tiefling with the kind eyes and the bright, sharp-toothed smile.
Alright, the time has come to select characters. With all the amazing applications, I have decided to take 6 of them to allow the maximum amount of participation. Those who have been chosen are:
Fletcher (GoodBovine)
Ormidal Axeforged (SpieltJoos)
Archer Valencia (CoachCord)
Evi (Zoldier)
Tender (inkedwolves)
Kallista (ArtymisMoon)
Will be sending a PM to the above mentioned in a bit and we can get started working some stuff out. I'm sorry to those I did not pick. All the characters were great, and I wish I could have taken them all. As always, happy adventuring everyone!

Sorry, my halfling friend. You'll have to find someone else to cart you around.
(Alright everyone, I think we're set to get started.)
We open in a small town all the way on the east coast of East Rauruth, called Splintfork. For whatever reasons you are here, it is sunrise, and the town is relatively dead. You are all riding in on the same horse drawn carriage, which is a merchant caravan that you caught a ride with. There are 4 merchants inside the carriage, and two guards outside along with the carriage.
"Well folks, we're almost there! I tell you, it's been a pleasure riding with you, and I hope you find what you're looking for out here." One of the merchants says.
