Elelyel looks at the half-elf and nods. Then she shakes her head. "Even if it wasn't, I would still be getting off. Better stuck on land than..." she turns toward her old ship and lets loose a string of disjointed words in various tongues. The pronunciation is harsh and you get the sense that she has no real knowledge of any of the parent languages beyond those particular words. She knows when to use these obvious curses, but nothing of their true meaning.
She turns back to him, wondering if she should tell him how close he came to death, when she hears her name being called.
She whirls around. "Jhoni! How did you get off that rock?" She grabs his arm in greeting, then spits on the ground at the mention of Gnirm's name. "Slime eating scum. Locked me in my quarters soon as he could. If it weren't for the storm that made us come here, I might still be there. Or worse."
Elelyel turns again to the passenger. "This is the true captain of the ship you were on. That other..." A single word. "He made sure to keep surrounded by those other," her face screws up as she tries to think of just the right word. Then she gives up and spits on the ground again.
((I got off Facebook at the start of the year. Sorry.))
Cowardly oathbreaking sahaugin shaggers? Jhoni helpfully supplies before spitting onto the deck too. Who’s this gentleman you’re talking to? A new suitor?
I, for one, am glad you've never "done this before". This is a serious step up from the usual DDB campaign. A video! Wow! As one who has never been privileged to play D&D IRL, this is a little closer to what I imagine it being like, so I love it. It's nice to "meet" you, Omra. I'm looking more and more forward to playing for you.
(OOC - you may have people posting in the other thread you created and is why you can't find them. You created two identical threads that I remember seeing originally.)
Elelyel hits Jhoni in the arm. "He was a paying passenger. And you know I pay if I want that. Made the right choice to stay here. You hear about this dragon?"
She holds her hand out to the half-elf. "Name's Elelyel, like he bellowed."

Thank you, I messaged the other player, hopefully they'll join in.
Tegid was a druid, from a long line of druid's. Essentially cast adrfit from his clan as it had been mysteriously slaughtered and the Chief Druid mutilated (as if he was the target). Tegid has travelled around the neighbouring villages and clans, to find similar tales - no signs of battle, and majority of village slaughtered, and towns in ashes.
Tegid has left with little to keep him at his village, and seeking revenge on who/what ever it was that slaughtered his clan and druid brothers.

Odo Proudfoot - Lvl 10 Halfling Monk - Princes of the Apocalypse (Campaign Finished)
DMOOC : Sorry for no news last night, smashed my finger with a big rock at work yesterday afternoon so I wasn't feeling typing very much, lol. At least it isn't broke. Anyways, proof read this morning, one thing I've noticed that may be helpful to keep things organized, if you are in the main thread and not in a private conversation, use the quote button to respond to the person/people you're speaking with, it help separate conversations that are sort of,"public game space" from those that the other parties in the game wouldn't have access to. Adds a bit of mystery to the game I hope, not always knowing what all the other players are doing, while allowing everyone to maintain a broad view of the general narrative. If i had realized it from the get-go, I would have had everyone message me characters directly, oh well, live and learn🙃 also, in case I didn't officially say so, the session zero ends at midnight tonight eastern time, about 14 hours from the time of this post. That's when I'm gonna drop the first event. In the meantime, have fun getting to know each others characters, it's really a great way for me to learn all about their motives and world views. 3 more players signed up, some interesting class/race combos going on, a thri-kreen warrior, a gith sorcerer, and a human druid, 12 players! super excited to bring my story to life, and to have all these awesome characters as a part of it!
Elelyel looks at the half-elf and nods. Then she shakes her head. "Even if it wasn't, I would still be getting off. She holds her hand out to the half-elf. "Name's Elelyel, like he bellowed."
As Elelyel, Jhoni, and Koric begin introductions, a shout can be heard from the far end of the docks. Jhoni's former first mate, a short, fat, disgusting man with patchy facial hair and an eyepatch is looking at directly at the trio and shouting something to his crew. He points directly at Elelyel and shouts another command, and six crew members jump from the deck of the ship down to the docks, a mix of orcs, elves and men, all armed with rusty weapons and wearing typical pirate garb. Jhoni notes that none of these men are members of his former crew. The crew begins moving at a jog along the docks towards you, pushing and shoving each other and onlookers alike to try to win their captain's favor, probably by bringing him your teeth. The pirates are appx 60 feet away, and it will take them a full 2 minutes to reach you. There are no gaurds in sight, though the dock is busy with fishmongers and porters.
Each of you has time for one turn before the pirates close the distance, please ROLL INITIATIVE!!! to determine the order of turns(dont forget to add your bonuses).
(OOC I’m not really a Facebook person I think I’ll just stay of it if that’s fine with you. )
Mallus looks around at the village, hoping to find a bar or any other where he could find something to learn about the dragon. He looks over to the halfling and elf. He’s seen a lot of things over his day, this will not end well. Not his problem, he will ignore the argument for now.
Pulling out a small satchel of 5 gold and raising it up, Elric jogs over, "HEY!" Elric of a distant land shouted. "Boy, you dropped something!"
Elric looks to the ground as he jogs, then makes eye contact with the sneaky boy just enough to let the boy he saw him, then back to the other boy and the man. As the white haired and alabaster skinned Elric approaches he smiles to the boy "You seemed to have dropped this." Elric holds out the coin purse "You should consider a different way of making coin than whatever it is you lot are currently doing. what ever it is obviously isn't enough and is probably too dangerous for what little you get." He says with a knowing smile, trying to keep his message of quitting the ways of the streets. Elric makes sure he is facing toward the 'sneaky' boy and everyone else so that the sneak could at least see them talking. "And don't be bad or do wrong by others." The Half-Elf's face contorts into a demonic visage while he growls in a guttural voice "OR THE WHITE CROW WILL GET YOU". Persuasion: 17 Intimidation: 9
Maybe this would help these children. Maybe they would choose to find a more constructive use of their skills for their future. Maybe it was just his royal upbringing peeking through, trying to change the people around him for the better. Either way he was now out 5 gold. *Laughs internally*
The leader of the BlueBoys looks at Elric, a bit confused and a bit elated, and decides not to tempt fate today. He breaks out in an enourmous grin that makes his slightly pointed ears poke out from beneath his bright blue bandanna.
"Hey Core! look 'ere!", but before he can finish, his gaze shifts to the guards posted at the gate.
(A Thri-Kreen Warrior) begins to approach the guards, who are muttering to themselves, clearly uneasy at the sight of the creature. Mallus and Elric are in clear view of the scene, about 30 feet away from the gate itself. The four "BlueBoys" are congregating near the four armed insectoid, wondering at his bizarre weapons and attire. One of them goes so far as to touch TlakSHik's carapace before darting back behind the oldest boy. The boy Elric had confronted a few moments earlier, who is clearly some kind of leader of the group, steps forward cautiously with a hand extended palm up(the almost universal signal for begging). One of the guards shouts at the boy to "stay away from the thing, ye daft boy!", to which the boy responds with a rude gesture, and he again extends his hand to the Thri-kreen, this time more courageously in a handshake, clearly an effort to annoy the Gaurd. It seems that though the BlueBoys are a bit rogueish, they have no preconcieved notions about race, a potential mark or ally was all the same to them no matter how many arms or legs it had.
I need the three of you to make a charisma check for me to determine how the guards react to your presence!

quick recap of session zero part 1:
(ooc: ok, this party's likelihood of survival has gone up a small bit. sorcerors and warlocks'll do, and barbarians can scout better than city folk.)
