Trill cocks her head at Aimon to see if they are serious, before cursing them out soundly in Orcish. It's a very good language for angry sounding curses.
She holds out both arms and spins to show off their lack of structure suitable for flight, before flipping Aimon rude gestures with both fingers and sitting down, cycling through curses in a low sullen mutter.
"If the lift is a lever operated one then I can operate it from a distance, as long as it is not magical in nature or more than 60 feet away. I'll just need a bit of wood and piece of string. Also, if we can prove ourselves useful to them in some way then the Drow might let us out, opening better opportunities for escape." Zack chimes in.
"The Drow obsess over their social standing from what I know. We might be able to play the guards against each other to gain favor with one or more. This has been an idea ive had ever since the lovers feud started."
Zack shrugs "Just a possibility."

"Accept your fate, learn to obey, and you may survive." Trill says in an eerie copy of Mistress Ilvara. She shudders and shakes her head.
"I suspect we will have to run and fight the whole way back to the surface.", she continues in Aimon's voice, giving him conciliatory head nod. Despite his misstep asking if she could fly, she seems to think he has the right of it.

"Forgive me, my dear Trill. You are the first of your kind I have ever met." He scrambles. "Those radiant feathers distracted me from the truth of what the fates have dealt you."
He then turns to Zack. Careful with this one he thinks. He could be here legitimately but could just as easily turn on us to gain favor with his kin.
"My name is Aimon. I must admit I may have been slightly, ever so slightly, partially responsible for where I find myself now. What of you? How did you find yourself here?"
(( I've mentioned a few times that I look full Drow, could you go with it instead seeming that it is obvious, unless the DM feels I should be visibly half blood? It's kind of a major twist for reveal later. No hard feelings))
As the others converse, Caelynn scoots over to sit next to Stool. They probably didn't want her along for their escape, anyways. She was injured; she'd probably just be a hindrance to them. "So, where are you from, Stool?" She thinks, looking down on him fondly. Admittedly, she had already grown a bit attached to the tiny creature.
(Go ahead and keep your ancestry secret of you want. I love plot twists)
(Zack, Velkynvelve is approximately 100 above the ground fyi. You could operate the lift for sixty feet before you went out of range. In addition, the lift could only hold approximately three people, four if they were crammed in. You also aren't sure how much weight the lift could take at one time. Operating the lift requires a great amount of strength.)
Eldeth and Jimjar listened in to the conversation, but didn't say anything. When the group began to form, Sarith began eyeing it with a suspicious look in his eye, but doesn't do anything.
Aimon, as you stride over towards the strange mushroom creature, it tries to evade you. It scurries along the wall whenever you get close. However, it's short stumpy legs are much slower then yours if you want to catch up to it (10 foot movement speed).
Caelynn, as an elven man breaks off from a hushed conversation with a few of the prisoners and begins striding towards you and Stool, you can begin to feel Stool's panic in your mind as this stranger approaches him. Stool quickly says" I'm from the Neverlight Grove! " as he rushes off as fast as he can.
Anyone who wants to can make an Intelligence Check. Add your proficiency if you are proficient in Intelligence saving throws.
(For RP purposes, let's say that the other two members in the cell (a fire genasi female and a tan lizardfolk man) have been sleeping through the whole hubbub that has been happening)
"I got caught playing hero" Zack says lifting his ice blue eyes to meet Aimon's. "I heard there were goblins in a cave and decided to emulate my father. Little did I know, my distant kin were raiding and captured me" you notice he is speaking in perfect common with a northern accent.
((Zack is thinking of name dropping Jarlaxyle to gain audience with the famous rogue mercenary since its the only person he thinks would go out of his way to get out of this cell and maybe join magnum magvire.))
Caelynn does her best to position herself between Stool and Aimon, though it's difficult given how much Stool is moving around. "Don't worry, I won't let him hurt you." She reassures him in her mind. She raises an inquisitive eyebrow to Aimon as he approaches.
(I forgot to mention this earlier, but Velkynvelve is in the middle of nowhere. The chasm it is in has three exits on the ground: a North passage, West passage, and a South passage. Sorry if I misled you guys a little bit. I got a lot to keep track of.)

Intelligence: 3
(This might be a stupid question, but what is the intelligence check for?)
Oops. I meant for the people in the conversation to make that role. Sorry :)
After Aimon said he would figure out how to gather everyone's equipment, it causes you to realize that the drow must have some sort of armory at Velkynvelve. After all, where would they store their weapons and armor that they had? After thinking for a while, it occurs to you that the only place that you have not entered is the stalactite with the shrine of Lolth inside of it. Unless the armory was hidden elsewhere, it would probably be somewhere in that stalactite.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Aimon realizes he needs a pause here. He's doing it again. He's juggling too many things at once hoping that a plan will coalesce before all the balls hit the ground. He's trying to draw the drow out while at the same time being drawn to the small mushroom like creature. And now something in the way Zack talks makes him more curious.
In Under Common, Aimon, asks "Are you going to sell us out if you get the chance?" Sometimes the unexpected blunt question reveals a lot.
As he waits for a response he realizes he's still edging towards Stool and Caelynn, and now he sees Stool trying to run away.
He looks at Caelynn. "Does he know me? I assure you small friend, I mean you no harm."

Trill hop/walks over to Alkanos, greeting them with the series of notes that seems to be her name.
"That's so sweet of you to worry." the small black feathered bird person says in a matronly voice.

This was going to be harder than Aimon thought.
”Of course they will pursue us. I suspect we will have to run and fight the whole way back to the surface. We just need to be faster than them.”
Aimon moves a little to invite Trill into the conversation.
”If we can take that lift and get everyone down it my glorious winged Kenku friend, could you severe the ropes and fly down to join us?”
He pats Alkanos on the back, “and you my angelic warrior, we need that brawn of yours to over power the guards.”
He moves off to check on the mushroom and battered elf but he tosses one last word over his shoulder.
”Leave the weapons to me.”
How, well, he’d cross that bridge once he got everyone on board.
