Bryn murmurs to Ann in elvish, "It can't be a coincidence or good thing that our red cloaked friends are here. While the rest of you take our transformed friend here to the proper place for safe keeping or wherever it is you decide to go, I'm going to head out in the direction of the market, circle back and try to keep an unobtrusive eye on our red cloaked friends."

Ooc: I dont think I'd count the crowd was natural phenomena.
Bryn, as you blend into the crowd, you seem to escape the notice of most, although your bow does draw a few eyes.
The red cloaks have split into two groups of two each. One group is casually making their way out of the market square headed north east, while the other pair is lingering in the crowd around Doloran.
Also, the town guard squad is about half way across the courtyard to you all, and appears to be lead by a knight dressed in the green and white livery of a noble house, and mounted on a tall black warhorse.
Anybody proficient in history can give me a history check.
Ann, you can roll with advantage because of your knightly training.

Jared will watch a few of the "red cloaks". Jared won't say a word but will shadow Bryn as best he can, at a distance, just to provide a bit of backup if needed. Stealth: 9
Ann seems to finally find a moment of peace once the other half of the group appears. Upon being asked questions by Rowan she responds. "Well... I took a small detour before because I assumed it wouldn't last long, but your mother's still waiting. As long as all of that is fast, so we can make a quick return, I'll be following you. But first, we need to take this man the place he needs to be." She points to Doloran. "Which is probably a jail cell."
"What do you mean by "questioning" this one?" Jared will ask. "Aren't we turning him over to the Magistrate?"
"Dunne get me wrong. I'd be happy to be rid of 'im. And aye, a magistrate sounds right, Master Talon... but the one thing I've learned about bad links and bad metal is... you have to remove all the weak portion. 'T'aint every day nor every town a big curse can take place right in the middle of a festival day market and not have any town guard in immediate response... thus requiring out-of-towners to jump in and settle the thing down, eh?"
"I know I'm an Underlander in a top-side town, but can ye vouch for your justice in these parts? Do ye know the justice and these reddies 'ent connected?"
Seeing the official looking knights coming our way, Jormund looks up at them saying to the nearby characters, "Ahh... here comes some of the local justice. Ent they a tad late? Guess we'll get to learn more first-hand. But they'd better come with appreciation... and breakfast..."
Bryn discretely follows the group of red cloaks that headed northeast.
History: 18
Bryn, give me a stealth check to see if the group notice you following them. You can either roll normally for yourself, or try to cover for Jared as well and roll at disadvantage.
As the squad of town guard approaches, you realize the following:
History Greater than 10:
This man leading the group is dressed in the finery of the captain of the town guard, which includes a tall gold plated helmet with a red horse hair plume on the top, and golden shoulder straps.
History Greater than 15:
You know from the trumpet on a green and white field on his breastplate and his green livery that this man belongs to the house Roaringhorn. They are one of the most noble houses of the area, and have a large villa in the north ward. They made their money through adventuring and later ranching. The house has deep connections throughout Amphail and Waterdeep, and is known as a rowdy, enthusiastic family that love to throw lavish parties.
You recognize the captain of the guard as one Henry Roaringhorn, a young scion of the Roaringhorn clan. He made a name for himself as a stalwart champion in tourney's throughout the Sword Coast. He was also well known in Waterdeep and as a stalwart drinker in the Sword Coast's taverns. He dropped out of notoriety some time ago, and nobody really knows why he no longer frequents the tournaments.
Jared really believes he is traveling unseen. His enthusiasm for his job and the idea he is a halfling, a creature most "bigs" ignore, inflate his confidence. Jared will just find a seat and sit down, watching the red cloaks.
Seeing the guards approaching and vaguely recognizing the captain, Rowan recedes further from the crowd. She pulls her hood up, though it probably doesn't do much to disguise her. To Ann and Quinry, she mutters, "Maybe we should go now? Before they get over here? If mother finds out what I've been doing, she will not be happy."
Ann takes a look at the situation and makes her own decision. "Quinry, go with her. I'll stay, deliver the body, and then meet you two at the exit of town towards Waterdeep." As soon as the two have left, hopefully quietly and unnoticed, Ann steps forward towards the squad of approaching guards.
Alright, so quick recap. Here's what everybody is currently doing. Let me know if I miss something.
Bryn and Jared are oh so stealthily tailing a group of three red-cloaked individuals headed north out of the market square
Jormund, Ann,Rowan and Quinry are currently still by the crowd in front of the temple of Pelor, but Rowan is looking to make a discreet exit, perhaps with Quinry?
Harry Halfpint and Doloran are also with the group by the temple.
Vedui has just finished locking up the mortuary and is headed south through the square towards the temple.
Action items:
If Rowan and Quinry want to leave without drawing attention, they'll need to make stealth checks.
Before they leave, you all see Doloranmake a very audible moan and shift in place on the saddle. It appears that he is waking up. There are also 3 red-cloaked individuals milling around in the south part of the square, going through the motions of shopping.
Vedui, as you leave the mortuary, with your keen senses you notice Bryn hiding at the corner of a building trying to signal Jared, but Jared appears to be oblivious and sitting happily in the middle of the square, watching something. You follow his line of sight and notice 3 red cloaks conversing in a tight huddle, and notice one of them make a quick chopping gesture toward Jared, and another quietly nod towards Bryn. They are about 40ft away from you near the crossroad between Long Road and an alley that leads behind the first row of houses on the north side of the square. This alley you know leads right behind the mortuary, and several other houses. They then duck into the alley.
Bryn and Jared, you notice all this as well. What do you three do now?
Seeing the guards approaching and vaguely recognizing the captain, Rowan recedes further from the crowd. She pulls her hood up, though it probably doesn't do much to disguise her. To Ann and Quinry, she mutters, "Maybe we should go now? Before they get over here? If mother finds out what I've been doing, she will not be happy."
"that seems prudent. I'm good at not being seen, with my small stature and all."
