The dark cabin before you has a sign over its door which reads, “Pelc’s Curiosities,” with the image of a curving dragon used to make the letter P. The windows are shuttered tight. Though the shop appears closed, the front door is slightly ajar.
(Harley, Malic, Red, Shagar):
You hear whispered voices and footsteps coming from inside the cabin.
With a brief look to the others and a gesture at his own ear then at the opened door. Malik shrugs and hobbles around the side of the building while Katia goes straight in. Open doors on closed shops tend to not mean well historically for the ol' man. Malik will enlighten his obsidian knob on his cane to give himself light in the darkness.
(If there is no functional difference. I'll go around the right side of the building towards the back. )
(edit: added light because I just saw the message about it being dark enviromentally speaking)
Eyes narrow as she takes in the suspicious scene, Red Chanter crouches low and quickly slinks to the side of the building opposite the moon to peer through a window.
Looking about and feeling the hairs on the back of her neck stand up Shagar will pull her longbow off her shoulder and nock and arrow but not pull back yet. She will approach within whisper distance to Red.
Five cloaked elves appear to have ransacked the shop and are searching through the broken debris on the floor! The furniture, shelves, and front counter have been smashed, and the shop’s wares now litter the floor.
They fail to notice you until Katia is through the doorway, Daelnar hot on her heels!
(See Roll20 for map. The PCs have won surprise and are up first. In general, actions occur in the order posted. Without darkvision or a way to overcome the darkness, your attacks have disadvantage. The windows are shuttered from the inside. The interior is difficult terrain due to debris covering it.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
That was exactly what she was afraid of all this time - a critical situation she was not ready to provoked an obvious reaction: the spell practically cast itself (actually, she was quite sure that was always the case).
It was a stupid move on my part - "sleep" on elves". Since we did not move yet, technically, can I change my action?
If you allow change the action - Mage Armor on herself (WM roll: 16 and if failed 60)
If not - spoiler:
Sleep for 18 HP (I think if cast behind blue elf it will cover blue, red, green and purple) (WM roll: 16 and if failed 47)
[ooc] ((As a note Ole Malik has a Light spell up. I can't quite tell if that cropping on the bottom of the house where he is is a window, or an opening. But I think its shuttered so no one will get his light from where they see. Purple light if it matters. ))
(Does the windows look openable from the outside?)
Hearing Katia barging in, Red Chanter whispers an oath under her breath and tries to swing the shutters open. Realizing they're locked from the inside, she digs her claws into the wood in an attempt to rip them open.
Strength: 17
If she's successful, she'll use her bonus action to give Katia 1d6 bardic inspiration to use on any ability check, attack roll, or saving throw.
Harley follows Malik, staying near the light source so she can see. If the window does not look able to be easily opened from the outside, she tries to force/smash it open.
(Let me know if that takes an action or if something else can also be done on this turn.)
Strength check: 7
Assuming that does not open the window, Harley follows behind Malik.
Seeing the elves ransacking the shop, Daelnar instantly concludes that they are not supposed to be there and draws his polearm. He stares straight at the nearest elf and darts forwards as Katia waves her arms, mumbling something inaudible. Though the debris strewn across the shop floor prevents him charging full pelt at this target, his aggressive shout is no less imposing and quite clearly conveys his anger at the scene before him.
(OoC: I can't get on roll20 particularly well whilst at work as I need to use mobile and scrolling isn't easy. Just to clarify, how do you count diagonal movement, normal 5ft, 7.5 ft, or other?)
Edit: If Katia doesn't cast sleep, then we are going with option two...
Ok my action will largely depend on who gets hit by that sleep spell, and my attack will depend on the faerie fire saves
If the red elf is slept by Katia's spell, Daelnar will make his movement towards the orange elf leaving the creature about 15ft away. If the elf enters his reach, he will take the attack of opportunity that is presented (PoleArm Master)
If the red elf is not asleep (whch is likely with advantage on the save), Daelnar will step around Katia to close on the red elf and rage before making an attack with the business end of his Glaive. If movement allows, he will then retreat back 5ft).
Hearing the commotion from inside as Katia and Daelnar begin to engage some foe Shagar will swing around Red to the other side of the window and take aim and fire at blue Elf.
Attack: 21 Damage: 8
(If advantage Attack: 15 Damage: 9)
(If Red can't get the window open, she will attempt to try herself. Strength: 9)
Hearing the melee inside, as Harley works on the shutter, malik gives a grumpy shrug and give a shout at the window shutters "Yer coverred on al sides. If yer not welcome guests give it up. If yer are, ye best tell us before we hurt ya" Old Man Malik calls out to whatever is fighting in there to give up, then procceeds to waddle on back of the building to see if that one is also closed.
(I'm unsure if I require an action to attempt to tell them to give up. If so. Malik will use it. 17 Intimidate. If it does not require an action, then Mallk will double move to the back lot to see what the status of that window is. On ROll20 I cannot move the token, so I put a purple line to his first movement, if he has his action for movement as well, he'll walk around enough to see if that shutter is open. If it is he'll hold near (but not in view of it), if it is shuttered he'll hed back towards the first window and Harley)
Striding boldly into the ransacked shop, Katia reacts quickly and shields herself with arcane armor.
Hearing Katia barging in, Red Chanter whispers an oath under her breath and tries to swing the shutters open. Realizing they're locked from the inside, she digs her claws into the wood in an attempt to rip them open. The wood splinters and yields to her strength, and she’s able to imbue magical inspiration upon Katia.
Harley approaches behind Malik, tests the southern shutter, but is unable to pry it open.
Despite his zeal, darkness equalizes the playing field, and the sly elven bandit is able to duck as the glaive whooshes over her head.
Hearing the commotion from inside as Katia and Daelnar begin to engage some foe Shagar will race to the doorway and take aim and fire at red Elf. (Given your starting position, I don’t think you had enough movement to get that far, so I altered your route to allow for the attack). Her arrow bypasses Katia and pierces the red elf in the gut, eliciting a gasp of pain and several choice words!

If yer are, ye best tell us before we hurt ya" Old Man Malik calls out to whatever is fighting in there to give up, then procceeds to waddle on back of the building to see if that one is also closed. He finds that the eastern shutter is also securely closed from within.
The bandits, like a pack of hungry hyenas, rush to attack to turn!
The red elf draws her scimitar leaps at Katia! Attack @ Katia: Attack: 7 Damage: 7
The orange elf draws his crossbow and shoots at Katia! Ranged attack @ Katia: Attack: 7 Damage: 4
The green and pink elves do the same, drawing their crossbows and shooting at the dim-sighted Daelnar!
Ranged attack @ Daelnar: Attack: 23 Damage: 16
Ranged attack @ Daelnar: Attack: 18 Damage: 3
The purple and blue elves produces their blades, running into the antechamber. They brandish their swords menacingly, but tread carefully and avoid moving too close to Daelnar’s weapon.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Daelnar reacts to the red elf stepping into his reach and swings the glaive (Attack: 16 Damage: 4) before taking a couple of painful hits from the elvish arrows.
Daelnar raises his glaive to meet the red elf as she lunges. Unable to cease her forward momentum, she realizes too late the martial prowess of the human and cries in horror as she is impaled by the blade. She slumps lifelessly to the cluttered floor. (red down!)
Barely seeing the overwhelming numbers ahead of him and Daelnar calls to Katia, "Back off, get outside so we aren't surrounded!" as he makes a lunge at the purple elf, and spins his glaive to jab the butt at the same elf, buying himself some space before retreating back outside the door away from the incoming arrow fire.
Action: Attack: 24 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. Bonus Action: Attack: 16 Damage: 4 Movement - no foe in 5ft, so safely back away out the door and stand 10ft away so I can hit any elf exiting the doors.

Harley nods, agreeing with Shagar. She then hurries off to join Katia and Daelnar going to the shop.

Katia did not even slow down and went straight to the entrance - if the door is not closed, someone is inside, right?
