"Now this is curious..." Red Chanter muses as she stands, lifting the book with a receipt stuck in it.
(With a cursory glance at the book and the page the receipt is marking, does anything stand out as possibly relevant?)
"It would appear that your dear uncle had some dealings with a curio around the time he returned from his final adventure. I wonder if our visitor might've been looking for the items he sold? It might behoove us to pay this business a visit. Do any of you know of it? Pelc’s Curiosities?"
As she poses her question to the group, footprints catch her eye that don't seem to be from anyone in the group. Red chanter presses the book with the receipt still inside to Shagar's chest as she walks past and out into the snow to see where they lead.
Katia was too shocked for any kind of investigation or for answering question - that... that could not have been happening! Not in this village. Sure, she said some villagers did not like to talk to authorities, but thieves?! Here?! She was not used to yet to consider the house her own property and looked around in panic checking what has been stolen.
"He was a learned man, yes"said she absentmindedly still figuring out what was lost. "But don't remember him selling anything from recently."

Daelnar is not the most attentive to his surroundings...
As teh group enter the home, Daelnar immediately recognises the head of a Yeti hanging on the wall, his approving nod fades as he see's the rest of the room. "A good trophy that... Katia, ye not be fond o' the house cleanin' do ye?" As the others look around and at the distraught look on Katia's face, Daelnar realised he might have missed something obvious that the others all grasped upon entering. "Huh-hurh-haaa" The laugh is clearly forced to anyone paying attention, as Daelnar tries to pass off his blunder as a joke.
"If ye not be remembrin' the goings on of a year ago, ye not to be blamed lass. Our ***** cat might have the right o' our next move...." As Red moves towards the door, Daelnar moves to follow, wanting to make a better impression on these new faces.
"That shop, though... The Pelc's Curiosities. it was broken into about 2 months ago, not long after the uncle returned. He was selling thing there, true, but I don't know if he did sell anything from last expedition, though".
(In response to the tail contact) "Yer tail smells like ye dipped it in a biscuit" while waving the cane in front of his face, warding off the feline's odd closeness.
(Malik is not going to the home and is instead taking the sick individual info)
Having little care to search someone else's home, much less one thats still around. Ole' Malik follows along with Elro's explainations.
"Bet her avoidance is 'cuz people are stupid. Or she is. Right then. Where she be? She ought know more than us on where it came from. Or she had herself a tryst 'afore." Scrapping along his chin, forgetting he hasn't cleaned his beard this week and finding a bit of breakfast in it. "Notin' I know of does that. Probably them monster or cursed folks."
As Daelnar exits to follow Red Chanter, he looks to see which way she went as his eyes readjust to the sun reflecting off the snow. Suddenly there's the sharp point of a dagger blade pressed gently against his lower back as a low growl comes from behind his left shoulder.
"If you are not my ape, then I am not your ***** cat. You would do well to remember this...friend."
In one fluid motion Red Chanter conceals her dagger once more and steps around the barbarian to continue following the tracks, tail swishing in silent annoyance.
(FYI it’s evening. The sun has set and darkness unfurls across the land).
(With Elro)
“Hmm, yes you’re probably right, Malik. Her house is across the way there, you’ve walked by it many a time.” Elro points the way. “Curses can be broken, and diseases healed, but she must know more than the healers who tried to cure Urgon.”
(Red, or anyone else examining the book holding the receipt):
Curiosities and Perils of the Crystalsands Tundra, Vol. IX, by F.R. Merrymead, a delightfully droll and excruciatingly detailed account of the flora and fauna of the hinterlands surrounding Palebank Village. According to the table of contents, there are entire chapters, nay, volumes, dedicated to the life cycles of ferns, moss, and lichens, to say nothing of the fungi!
The tracks found in Urgon's cabin lead off in the direction of the residence of one Tulgi Lutan...
Sizing up Elro, "I'm guessin yer not gonna come this time. Guess I'll trot along and see what fer" tappling his fake leg a few times to acertain its connected before venturing in the snow towards the home.
(Upon Arrival)
Rapping the front 3 times with his cane, speaking softern than in the hall "Oi, You in there missy? Yer not dead yet, I'm Malik. I live up them hills a ways. I owed Urgon a favor, he's passed. I gots questions, and I wants to help. Whether its savin' ye, or letting you rest. Tallk lass. I've seen worse." taking three step back and awaits oddly politely.
Seeing where the tracks lead, Red Chanter doubles back to Urgon's house. Poking her head in the door she says, "You all should come with me. It seems some dots are already being connected, so to speak."
If/when everyone comes outside, she wordlessly points to the tracks as they follow them to eventually find Malik waiting outside Tulgi's cabin.
With an understanding nod, she acknowledges the old man from a distance. If Malik waves them off before they reach him, she'll hang back and watch, hoping the rest of the group will follow suit.
(I am unaware how long Malik has been around; as he talked and then headed over quite quickly; while the others examined a whole home and such. GM can decide. Malik would not awknolwedge any of ya'll at such distance. He's not one to split conversations when its serious. A youngling on their death knell be serious for him
I will let the GM dictate the timing and progression as they like)
Harley acknowledges Shagar with a nod. She listens to the information from Elro carefully, introduces herself to the party, and then stays back with Malik to go straight to Tulgi's house. Harley stands silently beside Malik, waiting for Tulgi's reply. Meanwhile, she examines the exterior of the house, to see if anything seems disturbed or suspicious.
Check if relevant: 21
If there is no reply from Tulgi within a reasonable time, Harley will attempt to open the door.

Feeling the blade in his back Daelran avoids the natural reflex to tense up, and stays loose whilst the puddy cat makes it clear she doesn't like the reference. He smiles at the angry swish of her tail, "Been called far worse than an ape, an I reckon ye been called worse than puddy cat if that's how yer gonn talk to 'friends'. Don't mean nothin' by it so put ye hackles down. But that dagger comes near me again without me askin ye for it, and I think we'll see how far that tail o' yours reaches around ye neck."
Following the group along to Tulgi's, Daelran let the others carry one with their polite approach at the front door, whilst he circles round the house, motioning to Shagar to join him. He's watchnig in case anyone tries to run and will immediatly give chase if they do... Perception 6
(Year, would not mind to get disposition either. It looks like after the talk with Elro, Red, Katia and Shagar went to the house, while Malik, Harley and Daelran - to Tulgi. Is it right? Then where are we all at the moment? And did Katia noticed something missing in the house?)
(OOC: I've taken it that Malik and Harley went striaght to Tulgi's, everyone else went to the house first where Red found the clues to lead us to Tulgi's, though likely some amount of time after Malik and Harley got there)
This snow-covered cabin looks peaceful and quiet from the outside. Its windows are shuttered, and a steady stream of smoke piping out of the chimney indicates a roaring fire within.
Daelnar, Katia, Red, and Shagar approach the cabin to find Malik and Harley already standing at the door.
At Malik’s knock, there is a soft thud from inside, followed by slow, heavy steps toward the door. “Git lost!” an irritable voice calls out.
"Oi, You in there missy? Yer not dead yet, I'm Malik. I live up them hills a ways. I owed Urgon a favor, he's passed. I gots questions, and I wants to help. Whether its savin' ye, or letting you rest. Tallk lass. I've seen worse."
There’s another spell of silence. Then, the door creaks open, revealing Tulgi Lutan’s gruff mountain dwarf face. Wrapped in a thick woolen scarf and draped in a blanket, bulging blue veins streak her face, neck, and hands.
“M-M-Malik? H-Harley?” She shivers as she talks.(I’m assuming she’d have a passing familiarity with the goliath). She peers around the doorway. “Jus’ the two of ya? Whadda ya want?”
"More, Tulgi. I am here too and... some others." Katia came into view of the dwarven woman. "We came to talk about your sickness. We only want to help!"
"If you don't want help, then we at least need some sort of understanding which could help prevent others from suffering a similar fate," adds Red Chanter, approaching and coming to a stop behind Malik.
"Now this is curious..." Red Chanter muses as she stands, lifting the book with a receipt stuck in it.
