You are all in Nernrihm Hold. It is the morning of Stormrule 32, and anyone who arrived early has been assigned fairly nice guest quarters. You have an hour or so before you are due to meet with King Cordio Frostbeard. What would you like to do?
Tom's armour still gleamed as he entered the hold, he had spent long and hard ensuring everything had been perfect - he was to meet royalty after all. Travel had wearied him a little. He was not used to seeing so many people in one place and it set him on edge.
The quarters they had set him up with seemed nice enough. 'Rightly-so' Tom thought, best to pay homage to one such as he. He smiled inanely at himself in the mirror - he did look the part in his armour, people were bound to take notice.
Dumping his pack within his quarters, Tom resolved to set off and flag down a member of the serving staff. Always eager to experience the delights of a new place, he wondered whether 'Nernrihm Hold' produced any wine - if so, a sampling was in order. Flagging down the nearest person he could find, which resembled serving staff, Tom rather curtly asks, "You there! Might you tell me where one might procure some drinks of some sort?... Wine, and the like."
Not knowing the local etiquette, Tom thanks the serving person and thrusts a few copper in to their hands. Turn briskly, he walks off with purpose, following the directions provided. As he is walking towards the Brewmaster he shall attempt to get a good sense / 'feel' of Nernrihm Hold; the people that inhabit the place, any local merchants, a sense of the overall wealth of the populace, anything that can be gathered at a glance.
Tegid wandered aimlessly until he came into the hall. While he was used to being in halls of kings, it had been a while ago, and they were of petty kings, so nothing to compare to Nernrhim Hold. He was curious as to why this King had summoned him. Walking into the hall he sees a paladin in gleaming armour looking for a drink. After the paladin had moved off, he went to the same member of the household "Good day, while I am waiting for my audience with King Frostbeard, I would like to wash the dust of the road from my throat, where may I find a refreshing ale, and maybe some food to sustain me?"
Tegid had noticed the brusque nature of the paladin, and remembered back to when the previous King he had served dealt severely with those who mistreated his household staff, but it was not his place to make a scene here.

Since he had time before the audience, Morisul decided to investigate and get a sense of what this King was like. Was he a good ruler? A good person? Of course he did not just go to the servants and interrogate them. But he kept his eyes and ears open as he wandered around seemingly at random. Were the servants sullen and resentful, or energetic and motivated? What sort of things did they complain about (of course they would complain, that was given)? He also meant to see what sort of people the other adventurers were, assuming he wasn't the only one. Finally, he also wanted to get a sense as to how wealthy this king was, for obvious reasons.
Ok, Morisul and Tom: The place feels fairly contented. As you can tell, King Cordio is a kind and just ruler. The populace is 99% dwarven (but that's given). They are fairly wealthy, with mithril, platinum, and gold decorating the halls. There aren't any merchants in the keep, but nearby is a village for trading with other races.
Tegid is directed to the brewmaster as well, but the servant slips him a bottle of ale quietly.
Generally impressed by what he saw and heard, he continued to wander around until he saw another elf, an eladrin in an autumn mood, in heavy armor. That was unusual since their people typically favored lighter, less restrictive armor. It seemed likely that he was an adventurer as well, here for the same reason, and Morisul walked over to introduce himself.
Speaking in the Elvish tongue, he politely greeted the other elf. "Bal'a dash, malanore. I am Morisul Naiilo. It's good to see another of Corellon's children here, so far from home. Are you here to meet with the King as well?"
Ava slips though the halls of the hold, her left sleeve flapping behind her, empty. Admiring the beautiful metals decorating the halls, she hurries towards the center, paying no attention to what is in front of her. Looking up at a sculpted pillar, she bumps into a heavily armored elf. "OOF. Oh. Sorry. Say, are you from around here? I haven't seen very many non dwarves here. Dear lord, where are my manners." She bows with a flourish as her eyes flash purple. Tom hears in his mind without Ava's lips moving "Ava Lunera at your service."
As Tegid moves through the hall to the brewmaster, he comes across the paladin he saw in the hall earlier, with another Elf, and another being. "Greetings, it seems to me that there are more than just a few visitors here today."

Tom smiles broadly at the sight of a fellow elf,"Wet met, well met. It is fortuitous, indeed, to meet another worshipper of Corellon. My name is Tommus Iavas, or 'Tom' if it suits." He proceeds to offer his arm out in greeting,"It does feel most uncomfortable to be so far from home."Tom ponders and then adds, "But, I must say I have found my travels most... enjoyable, so far. Tell me - have you sampled any of the local wine? A truly wonderful thing!"
Almost absentmindedly he adds,"Oh yes, I received a summons from King Frostbeard himself. Not an unusual request for one like myself, but appreciated none-the-less. Were you also summoned by the good King?"There is a level of arrogance in his voice, but it is not unkind.

Hearing the voice in his head, Tom's eyes widen, "Ho-ho! What a brilliant trick!"he says merrily."I come from far, far away. It has been many years since I last visited my homeland. I must say, however, that I am enjoying the freedom of a more well-travelled life."There seems to be a deep joy in Tom's words, "Well met Ava Lunera, my name is Tommus Iavas. But please, call me 'Tom'."
Bowing deeply, Tom continues, "I am currently on a brief escapade with Morisul here."He beckons towards Morisul Naiilo,"Somewhere within this great hold there should be a Brewmaster of sorts. If we are successful..." Tom chuckles to himself,"... well let's just say that we may well be sampling the local Ale sooner rather than later!"
As Tegid moves through the hall to the brewmaster, he comes across the paladin he saw in the hall earlier, with another Elf, and another being. "Greetings, it seems to me that there are more than just a few visitors here today."
"Greetings, you speak true. At this point is it best to assume that we are all highly capable individuals that have all been summoned by the good King?" Tom's voice is smug, but not mocking."Might it be best to assume that there is an issue of great importance that requires our looking into?" At this point his question is rhetorical.
"My name is Tommus Iavas, 'Tom'. This here is Morisul Naiilo. And this remarkable lady is Ava Lunera. We have recently decided to go on a mission of sorts to find the local Brewmaster and procure some of his wares." Tom looks around the group smiling broadly. He knew that there was going to be exciting times ahead with companions such as these!

"My name is Tegid. I am also on a mission to the brewmaster, so I believe we may indeed on the same purpose for now. As to the other matter you mentions, the importance of the other matter at hand or not, it is no small thing to be summonsed by a king, I would be willing to assist in however small a way I could."
Tegid looked around at the other three, and felt a little our of place, not having dealt with Elves in the past, he thought to himself "do all Elves have such haughty yet soothing tongues? One must keep their wits about in such company"
At first, Ash stayed in his quarters. It had been strange coming here and the summon had been even stranger. He wondered what he could provide to such a King.
Deciding that there was still enough time before he would have to present himself before the King he stepped out of his quarters. Before doing that he put on his gloves and his hood to conceal the tone of his skin. He had seen the stares when he had entered to halls. Better stay covered before he was officially invited.
He roamed the halls and tried to find a place where he would be able to find flowing water. It had been a long time and a pang of longing pressed in his chest. His hand went to the medallion he wore around his neck making sure it was there, mechanically.
"That does sound like a worthy endeavor before our meeting with the king," Ava says. She extends her arm towards Tom, offering to let him escort her towards the brewmaster. Glancing towards Tegrid, she says in a soft voice, "It is indeed strange that we were all summoned. I am very interested in what he may have to say."

"Yes, apparently he has heard of me as well, though I am not sure how. I only left the elven lands for a specific reason..." He trailed off momentarily. "I think we should try to present ourselves at our best to the King, don't you think? He might think less of us if we show up with wine on our breath." Morisul did not partake of alcohol or any such substances on principle - with his mind being his greatest asset what sense did it make to impair it? - but he saw no reason to mention that. The other elf might get offended at the implied criticism.

"Ye'll have to talk to the brewmaster, though he might be a bit insulted if ye ask for wine over his ale."
Looking a little crestfallen, Tom nods, "Nevermind. Ale shall have to suffice. Say - whereabouts is this brewmaster? I've a mind to pay him a visit."
