Jeremiah grabs a small dagger in panic, reverting to a more-familiar tool, and slashes at the blood sucking flying rat thing that’s attached itself to him.
Guardian sees the creature grab onto Jeremiah and rushes over to help. Not wanting to hurt the boy he attempts to knock the creature off with his hand.
If Violet's turn is now, she leaps to the open fireplace (assuming all cozy pubs have one) and grabs the nearest burning log that has an unburned area to hold onto.
She whirls and rushes to the fallen troll with her large torch...
As Jeremiah and Guardian attempt to get the last stirge off of Jeremiah, Gorm cuts it in half and then kicks the pieces away. Durnan runs and grabs a torch and hurls it upon the troll. As it burns he kicks the corpse into the well. Turning to all of you, "You fought well." He heads back towards his bar calling out for Bonnie. You hear a voice calling out to you. The figure that approaches you strokes his mustache, adjusts his floppy hat, and tightens his scarf, "Volothamp Geddarm, chronicler, wizard, and celebrity, at your service. I trust you've noted the violence in our fair city these past tendays. I haven't seen so much blood since my last visit to Baldur's Gate! But now I fear I have misplaced a friend amid this odious malevolence. My friend's name is Floon Blagmaar. He's got more beauty than brains, and I worry he took a bad way home a couple of nights ago and was kidnapped - or wore. If you agree to track him down with all due haste, I can offer you ten dragons apiece now, and I can give you each ten times that when you find Floon. May I prevail upon you in my hour of need?"
Gorm shrugs after listening to Mr. Geddarm and then looks around at the others. "I'd be happy to do what I can to help you find you friend, but I don't really know those folks. We all just kind of pitched in... And the one is a kid. You really want to hire a kid? I mean street kids tend to be scrappy and all, and I'm not his parent or anything so you do you but... Was that 10 Dragons apiece?"

We're doing one small murder-y thing for a bigger, better reason. The ends justify the means.
Violet tosses the log back in the fire and pulls the cloak back over her head before sauntering up.
"Hello Mr. Geddarm." she purrs. "So was that 10gp now and another 100gp when we find and bring your friend back? You must have some idea of where to start, where this 'Floon' may have been waylaid, or who might have ill intent towards him?"
(If applicable/DM allows: She'll try to perceive if the man seems truthful or has hidden agendas, or anything else about him that helps her judge his character 14 )
Jeremiah plops down on a stool, looking extremely pale. He pulls a pristine monogrammed white ‘kerchief from his pocket, and uses it to staunch the bleeding while he listens to the conversation.
He spits when Gorm disparages him. ‘Don’t be thinking you’re my da. You don’t know what I can survive.’ he says scornfully, before a wince from his wound spoils the effect a little.
’What’s so special about this Floon? People go missing all the time...’ for some reason being offered gold to find someone has made him angry..
Guardian looks at Jeremiah when he snaps back at the other traveler and his eyes light for a moment. "I would like to try and find this person." He says to the wizard.
"Well... you see Floon is a dear friend of mine but he is a hit of a fool. I feel responsible for him. And I havent seen many street kids cast spells like that, plus plenty of famous adventures have come from the ranks of riff raff like him."
Violet, you get the feeling he seems to be pretty truthful about his worry for his friend. He fidgets a bit when the 2nd payment comes up.
‘Fair enough, Mr Geddarm. It’s just that I’ve seen so many street kids go missing, and no-one gave a sweet fig what happened to ‘em.’ Jeremiah straightens up with a small wince. ‘Let’s see the gold then..? An’ where did you last see him?’
(The DM might want an Arcana or History check to know about the initials? ;-) )
Gorm stands there with a smirk on his face and his foot tapping impatiently. He came looking for a way to gain some experience but this wasn’t exactly the dashing and heroic derring-do he had in mind. Still, gold in hand was always a good thing...
“Yeah, man. Some coinage and a place to start and we’ll see what we can do..,”

Violet make a history check for me to recognize the initials
Volo says, "Oh I was hitting some writers block on my newest book. Me and Floon went for a drink down at the Skewered Dragon. We drank and gambled the night away. I left before Floon did due to having inspiration strike me mid bet." He winces a bit as he mentions the gambling.

(that would be an insight check)
ok that makes sense 14
Jeremiah plops down on a stool, looking extremely pale. He pulls a pristine monogrammed white ‘kerchief from his pocket, and uses it to staunch the bleeding while he listens to the conversation.
He spits when Gorm disparages him. ‘Don’t be thinking you’re my da. You don’t know what I can survive.’ he says scornfully, before a wince from his wound spoils the effect a little.
’What’s so special about this Floon? People go missing all the time...’ for some reason being offered gold to find someone has made him angry..
Violet had ignored Gorm's speech about the 'kid'. She glances over, and does a double take.
"Just a sec Mr. whatever." she scoots down onto her knees to be at eye level with Jeremiah.
"It's ok honey..." she gently helps him handkerchief his bleeding nose while getting a look at those monogrammed initials.
(It’s not a nosebleed, it’s the wound from the stirge’s attack, which took out 2/3 of his hp!)
The ‘kerchief’s monogram reads ‘K.B.A’. It’s probably stolen.
"Oh, I'm sorry honey, that wound probably really hurts." she tosses the handkerchief back into his lap.
She doesn't even finish the sentence before turning her attention back towards the person offering gold.
(K.B.A.... where do I know that from?)
(OOC I'm not at all like this character, just trying it out for fun)

(As pertaining to famous people with connections to Waterdeep, Kelben “Blackstaff” Arunsun would be a name that would jump to mind...)
