"Tyrod, I have an idea. I'm not sure it will work, but it is worth a try." Eclipse quickly tells him about the account (above) of the...The Majestic, which was modified (OOC: lol, reverse-engineered isn't the right term, is it.) to drop-hop straight up. "If we can do that," he continues, "we can jump above the Hungry Sky and douse it with our cauldron. Can you reverse the escape valve and re-rout it back into the furnace in time? Will it work?"
Well, it's not what reverse-engineering usually means, but it is literally reversing what that piece of engineering does... :) Anyway, yes, that can work, but doing it on the fly means not reinforcing the ship for the jump, so it may damage the ship. It also won't cause you go as high upward as the dropper drops you, since you're fighting gravity, but it would work for what you are talking about.
“Like lightning, crew, quickly, quickly! Follow me and grab shovels,” shouts Eclipse as he lashes the wheel on course and leaps into the hold to start shoveling coal into the furnace — if Tyrod can start to engineer the modification. (OOC Or if he needs to stay at the wheel, he does that.)

Theena watched in horror as a second member of her ship fell from the Sky and to an early demise; this time directly because of her attempt to save them. Stunned into inactivity, it took her too long to realize that she was in fact no longer on the runaway Sky but on the enemy ship instead! Quickly drawing her bow, she prepared to fight despite the odds until she saw the dragon drop Druaz safely back onto the deck.
"Druaz! Your still alive!" Theena called out as she rushed towards the surprisingly still whole woman.
Then remembering Cinnebar and deciding to take a chance, she raised weapons into the air as sign of surrender and said to the enemy crew, "We're not trying to fight you and the last member of our crew is still stuck aboard that monster! Can you help us!?!"
Eclipse, the mawn at the wheel of the Reaver's Word, is on his way below decks. If Theena hurries down with him, he replies, "We are not gifted with a crewman who can lift the curse on that ship, and we are now trying to save a dozen lives, not just one. If you have a plan to save your crewman, speak now and speak quickly, because within minutes we plan to unload our cauldron on its airbag and leave it and anyone on it at the mercy of the slavers."

Druaz looks around frantically, "I don't I'm... Ok, uh..." she runs over to the unmanned ballista and loads a bolt "Maybe if we put enough holes in the bag we can trap it on the ground?"
The Word is now over the center of the wagon circle, directly over the two central haulers. About thirty orcs and a handful of humans with various armaments are gathered in the area between the outer wagons and the inner ones. The Hungry Sky smashes through the outer wall of wagons, creating a cloud of splinters and lodging one wall of a wagon on its prow. As the closest orcs try to move out of the way and others launch attacks at the ship, ropes lash and writhe at them like living animals, tossing several under it's oncoming bulk. A large orcish woman jumps from one of the outer wagons and makes a dead run for one of the inner wagons. Lowering her torso, she hits it with her shoulder and keeps up her forward momentum as best she can, pushing the wagon back a few feet. A moment later, four more get the idea and join her.

Circling the wagons is a common defensive tactic. Wagons with children or the elderly go into the center of the formation when under attack.

"He's in a chair so he can't walk." Theena begins following the mawn and making sure to keep a wide berth from Jeneer, "Could your Dragon get him out of there?"
Then remembering her crew's "unsuccessful" experience with the "slavers" last time she saw them, she quickly added, "Wait! Are you talking about the caravan down there!?! They're not slavers! They're innocent!"
Eclipse stops in his tracks for just a moment, then continues rushing to the furnace while regarding Theena carefully. "Innocent? But...there are people who have been herded into a cage. What is that if not slavery?" Although Eclipse continues with his plan, Theena may notice that she has planted a seed of doubt in the captain's mind, as it dawns on the blue-grey-furred mawn that there could indeed be many possible answers to that question. He rushes to but stops at the furnace, plainly torn.

Jenaer takes a shot at the other ship before calling out to Eclipse. “What was that sir? Fire on the wagons? Who is this on our other ballista? A guest or intruder?”
Unfortunately the shot goes a bit wide, though that's not too surprising, considering it's hard to fire these forward-mounted weapons at a target directly behind the Reaver's Word. Your own ship grants cover. The yellow lizardwoman just loaded the ballista and yelled something about putting holes in the balloon. She's closer to Jenaer than anyone else, but since no one else has responded to her, it's up to Jenaer's interpretation if the crew agrees with her doing that.
Laitraxa pokes her head above the rail, and sees that the helm is unmanned. Growling a curse in Draconic, she pings Eclipse with her telepathic message.
"Is the plan still to capture the slave cage with the anchor and haul it clear? Or are we leaving? If we aren't turning, that ship will plow through the center of the circle and we'll lose the entire reason we're here... and probably all the orc younglings will die if they are within the center. I don't see anyone at the helm."
Druaz looks around frantically, "I don't I'm... Ok, uh..." she runs over to the unmanned ballista and loads a bolt "Maybe if we put enough holes in the bag we can trap it on the ground?"

"Laitraxa, everything is ready. We have only one chance, with one anchor. You decide where it goes. Tell me when it is set, and then hang on. We are modifying the drop-hopper to quickly ascend on your signal!"
"Tyrod, please finish here! I am going back up to the deck to throw the drop-hopper in reverse when Laitraxa is ready!"
Eclipse dashes back to the wheel and tells Janear and Druaz, "Ready the cauldron! When we rise, we'll rise fast and -- with luck -- directly over that demon-spawned sky-ship! Shower it with fiery rain when you see your chance!"

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(OOC: is it possible to drop the cauldron contents on the other ship. We're above it, right now, right?)
If so, Tyrod mans the cauldron and tries to hit the Sky with the contents. (I don't remember if this needs a roll: but 20)
(OOC: I think we only have one ballista)
If Tyrod can't get over the sky to drop the cauldron he's going to go after the second threat he identifies. Theena. He'll attack with non-lethal force with his wrench. (Roll: 6 Dmg: 4)

"He's not the captain he's just a doctor! The captain disappeared our first day flying..." she shared with the Mawn.

You're at a higher elevation than the Sky, but it's still behind you, smashing the outer wagons. Tyrod is capable of preforming the alteration to the hopper (any kind of artificer thing that might help with that?) I guess I'm calling that a dex check. If you make the adjustment Eclipse is calling for, want to call that attack roll the check? As soon as the hopper jumps the ship it will be over the Hungry Sky, so the cauldron could be used against it then. The Word has a ballista on each side, like the Sky, though the Sky's ballista are on fire. Druaz is standing by one of them, having just loaded it. Jenaer is manning the other one, and fired at the Sky a moment ago.
Laitraxa mentally responds to Eclipse, still holding onto the chain. "Lower the anchor about ten feet below the hull bottom. I'll flare out my wings and provide some guidance, but I'll need you to slow and keep the ship steady just above the cage so I can get the cross-bar affixed. We don't want the cage to swing like an out of control pendulum."
The young dragon positions herself on the top of the anchor itself, and prepares her wings to provide some stabilizing control.
