Bidet everybody! I have been on-and-off binging CR, I think I'm at episode 60+ now. I suck at completely binging the thing though, I can't do anything too difficult at the same time, cos I'll lose track of what is happening on CR. Does anyone else have the same problem? I binged first up to episode 35-ish, then didn't watch for a couple of months, and over new year's binged up to episode 60-ish. I haven't watched an episode in about three weeks now (#O3O#)
As a relatively new DM (been DM-ing every week for about half a year now), I must say that Matt's way of DM-ing is awe-inspiring. Too bad he's not doing the DM tips videos for G&S anymore..
I have the same problem, I need to focus on CR to understand it. But mainly because English is not my mother tongue. Also some weeks I can't see an episode of CR, usually because exams.
I've found the best thing to do is to use a converter to get them into mp3 form and then I can listen to them while I commute or exercise. Of course I miss the physical/visual but I try to flag if there is something I want to see (usually some of Sam's antics or Laura getting emotional over an...incident...). I ran a half-marathon today and CR carried me through!

A half-marathon? Don't forget your boots of haste!

Congrats on the half-marathon!

I found out that Twitch on mobile (at least on Android, unsure on iOS) has an audio only mode. So if you're on wifi or have enough data you can stream just the audio with your phone locked and in your pocket while you do other things. Useful if watching latest episodes at work like I do.
After watching one of the episodes, It is clear that Keyleth does some spells with the Pathfinder wording instead of having checked the 5th edition version of the spell. So this is probably a problem for a lot of them when it looks like they don't know what their own spells do.
Out of curiosity, have any of you ever met any of the cast? I keep hoping that one day they will come to Salt Lake Comic Con, but I doubt that they will any time soon. :/

I haven't, but I'm making plans to go to GenCon this August for the campaign book release and I hope to see them there.
On the other hand, guests typically come to cons where there's a demand for them, so maybe get some local critters together and email the con people telling them you'd like to see some of the cast there!

I'm super excited for the release of the campaign book! I'm hoping to use elements of it in a future game.
Has anyone had D&D or other related products from Green Ronin before? Are they any good?

The only one I can think of that I have is the Sword Coast Adventurers Guide, which was published in cooperation with Wizards. And I don't know how the project was split between the two companies.

Largely I would say the Campaign guide is going to be influenced more by Matt's writing and design elements than anything specifically from Green Ronin. Beyond that, the physical design of the books are typically paperback (which I would say is no better and no worse than any other paperback you can buy) and I think this would be something more likely to be hardback, which probably means its not quite as good as WotC products, but not horrible either and way better than any shadowrun book (shadowrun books have a tendency to fall apart). Of course this is a generalization as they could go all out on the campaign setting and it could be superior to any product ever made by the company. So I don't think there is any way to judge the product until it is released.

That is a good idea! What do you use? I have a friend who is getting into CR and the biggest lament for here is that she has to sit down and watch it, when she's used to podcasts she can listen to while working/walking about doing other things.
http://peggo.tv/ - (I hope this is kosher!) - I copy the link to the particular youtube video and paste it in the window on Peggo, converts to a downloaded mp3 that I can pull into my iTunes library. I think I got it from the comments section of one of the videos. It's been great especially for saving cellular data usage on my phone :)
Hey all! Figured I'd officially announce myself as a critter on these forums. Also thanks to Benito for pointing out that audio-only mode for Twitter on android. That is super convenient to know!
So good to see fellow critters here, hello everyone! I'm unfortunately waaay behind as I started watching around Christmas. I'm currently only on episode 38, and hoping that one beautiful day I'll catch up to the live streams
So, I'm a couple days late here. Didn't realize we had a thread. :D I found the show around May of last year. I binged watched something like 50 episodes in July. And didn't watch it live until i caught up. With the exception of the GenCon episode. Unfortunately, I can't watch it live often. I'm on the east coast and work requires me to be coherent in the mornings. :D

Half the fun is watching the reactions/antics of the actors. Whether they react to a story event, discussing/joking about something while waiting their turn/focus, or displaying goofy antics...visually is just another layer to the Role-play and their RL personalities! -)
Yeah, trying to bing-watch CR is hard. Their pre-written scripts need a bit more "juice" to keep us interested! LOL

That's definitely worth a try - more straightforward than my workaround! Thanks!

How do you want to do this?

Currently attempting to catch up (versus reading the Recap thread on reddit).
Found the most effective way so far is just listening to it like a Podcast as others have mentioned.
The worst part so far of Critical Role is how much it makes me wish I had my old college pals in the same town again to get our group going.
