“It cannot be seen, cannot be felt, Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt, It lies behind stars and under hills, And empty holes it fills, It comes first and follows after, Ends life, kills laughter.” J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit, or There and Back Again
Are they in the same campaign as you in D&D Beyond?
Did you enable content sharing in that campaign?
Are they trying to make a character by following the join link into the campaign?
They cannot just go to my characters and make a new character, it has to be following the join link into the campaign and selecting new character there.
If they are following the join link in, they should be able to select the old character as the one to join with, and then go in to edit the character and pick Assassin (provided they are Rogue Level 3)
Also, try turning content sharing off and on again. Its surprising how often that fixes stuff
So, I have the DM level sub, and I wanna share the stuff I have for books and stuff with my players,
but for some reason, despite the fact that I know I have it, one of my players can't play assassin subclass?
Some assistance would be appreciated.
think you might get more response if you repost in the bugs-support section https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/bugs-support
hope someone can help you and your friend out with the issue

The answer to the 1rst two is yes, the 3rd is no.
The character was built before I took over as DM for their group, so the player followed the link, and used his old character.
