Pretty much what the title says. Which do you think is better: Vallejo's Game Color or Citadel's Base, Contrast, and Shade (I'm a quick and dirty type of painter so I rarely use Layer paints). More specifically:
Basecoat: I paint minis for 3 different campaigns I'm in, so I never have the time to fiddle around with multiple thin coats; I need a basecoat that will go on in one coat. I'm currently using the Vallejo Extra Opaques, and they are pretty good, but my question is: Are the Citadel Base paints any better? Wash: I have both the Vallejo and Citadel washes, but only one of each (Nuln Oil from Citadel and Sepia from Vallejo). With a little bit of thinning, the Citadel pretty much sinks into the cracks, leaving the upper areas pretty much the same (slightly darker), while the Vallejo seems to turn the whole mini a different shade. I like both for different purposes, and my question is: Are these standard qualities of both lines, or have I just not shaken one well enough or something? Metal: I've been using the Vallejo Silver and Chainmail Silver paints, and I'm not the happiest with them: they do not have very good coverage, which as I mentioned is the number 1 thing I look for in paints. My question is: Are the Citadel metal paints any better? Contrast: I've never used this; is it any good? Will it make my mini painting quicker/better?
And that's it. Like I said, I'm a quick and dirty type of painter, so I rarely use layers, glazes, etc. I just basecoat, wash, and drybrush highlights if there's anything worth highlighting. Thanks in advance!

Citadel paints always need to be thinned out. I haven't used Extra Opaque, but I use Model Color and Game Color, and usually find that they go on beautifully without having to thin them. Which is nice. I drop them on my wet palette, swirl it around a little bit with my brush handle, and go. Way easier to measure out blends, also.

Couldn't say. I think it's common wisdom that Citadel has the best general purpose washes in the business though. For what you describe as lazy painting.

The coverage of my Vallejo metallics is also pretty bad. As mentioned, you gotta thin out your Citadel metallics, so your mileage may vary on this, but I find the coverage is better at the cost of the paint being really finicky to get on smoothly. In my limited experience with Vallejo metallics, I think they're shinier and less glittery, but Citadel has a greater range of cool colors. Really, if you ask me, there's no good option. They're all kinda annoying in their own ways.

No idea.
