Gandalf is actually a statblock, and Sauron is, too. Gandalf is probably around CR 17, and Sauron is closer to 26 or so.

Sauron is a death knight or a lich. I think there is already a thread for this, though. And Frodo.
No, Sauron is his own thing. He just has the Rejuvenation trait of a lich. And Frodo has decent charisma.

It's still the closest stat block for Frodo.
Shortsword: Death saves
Gollum: Defingered
Shelob: Stabilized because Shelob has a normal giant spider's venom.
All saves: Failure.
*Shortsword?*
Morgul blade. Also, this isn't the Tavern.
Like Halfast said. Every fight he gets into, he nearly gets killed. The Nazgul on Weathertop, The cave troll in Moria, The Nazgul again in Osgiliath, Shelob.... Gee, that's all the fights he gets into. And the only one he doesn't get knocked out in, he nearly gives the Ring to a Nazgul. You’d have to have some seriously low hit points and saving throw modifiers to do all that.

Shortsword?
Morgul blade. Also, this isn't the Tavern.
That'd be a shortsword +1 with extra necrotic damage.

If Sauron is CR 26, what would be the CR for Morgoth?

30ish.
Yep. The nazgul are CR 11 or so, but are 14 by the end of the trilogy. The Witch-King of Angmar goes from around 13 to around 16.

Oh my gosh this is perfect for me. I'm kinda new to dnd but I think sauron would be part obstruct (I know he's a maiar but It's kinda close) The one ring would definitely allow the user to cast greater invisibility but would slowly change their alignment to evil and lower their charisma to really low. I think Gollum would be a halfling-orc. (If you're thinking right now: Wow this person is a noob. Then I can leave)

Make it a fan club
There already is a Tolkien fan club, but nobody has posted on it in years except me, so I've started the LotR/Hobbit/Anything Tolkien cult instead.
