Never heard of them. I mostly focus on what's in the player's handbook and the monsters that show up most often.  However, assuming it it's an aquatic humanoid I would focus on getting the skin tones.  There are a handful of fins you can add to models which may go a long way to making it look more aquatic.  There are VERY few clothing and weapon options that really seem aquatic (there are like 2 or 3 tridents in their whole library and one is massive and chunky from launch when they couldn't make smaller, more detailed things with their printers).

Focus on the flesh tones.  There are skin tones for aquatic creatures.  Start there.  Look at some real fish.  Try to mimic those.  Once you have a feel for what those colors should look like you can start to edit and make your own.  Pearlescent colors work well for this sort of thing.

You can always use a color wheel to figure out gear and equipment colors that support the flesh color you've taken.  It's even easier if you feed an AI the hex code for the colors you're using and ask it for colors that go with that (using the AI as a knowledge base, rather than to build anything for you).

This is mostly the same mini with some color and pose adjustments.  The posture was fixed so they stand more regally.  Historically, bright shiny colors were more expensive.  Colors like purple have been extremely expensive in history (which is why no countries really use any purple in their flag until much more recently ... the cost of putting purple on ALL flags was too high).  Specific vibrant shades of green were so sought after by the wealthy that no one seemed to care they were literally made with poison that would slowly kill you if you wore the clothing.  On and on that goes.  So, bright colors.  Not muted brown leathers and dull yellow gold.

I kept the skin of the character the same (if that's the color you want, great!  Maybe reduce the roughness to make it look a little less wet).  The coat was changed to purple with white highlights (expensive color with hard to keep clean trim, there is also like 60+ years of history with villains wearing purple in comics).  The monocle is bright gold, just like the buttons.  The staff is decorative and bright with expensive materials.  I didn't change any of the clothing selections.  I also didn't change the color of the clothing under the coat (other than to add color to a jewel that didn't have any color yet).

It should look regal and ominous.

I don't.  It seems common though.  A lot of people seem to have it.  I use it as a free service and I'm extremely happy with it.
