To post an image here you must first host it on a sight like www.imgur.com and then you’ll need the “direct link” I ding in .jpg/.png.
Then you embed it using the "Insert/edit image" button in the toolbar. Remember! You have to constrain the image size! When you hit the button, you'll get a setup window that looks like this:
If you don't fill in the "Dimensions" section, your image will be gigantic and won't fit in the forum right. You don't need to fill both boxes, just put something in the first box. I like to keep my images at 400 pixels; it's enough to show off while not being a pig with forum space. Like so (also here, have a Christmas elf. Don't tell Misty I put her in a Santa dress and rockabilly boots behind her back):
You can get away with 500, but much bigger than that and you're verging into being greedy with page space. Modest pictures work just fine.
Forgot if I ever shared this one out publicly or not. Noelle (the Normal Gnoll), a prospective character for an upcoming game, and lowkey one of the best pieces I've ever done on HeroForge. I almost never use merged figures (importing the same character onto the base a second time and superimposing one over the other, used to double the number of channels you have for clothing and equippables for more custom/complicated outfits), but in this case the benefits just outweight the annoyance too much.

You can also paste an image into Discord (provided it's not too large) and Discord will host it for you and give you a link you can use to embed an image in the forums. Once you upload to Discord you can click on the image to expand it. At the bottom there will be an "Open Original" button that opens the image in your web browser and gives you a URL to embed.
