I'm currently running LMoP, and I also have a bunch of friends asking me to DM for them, at least with one shots.
I thought that maybe these modules would come very handy, specially when some players are missing. But I honestly don't know where to start, or what could be a good introduction/transition from LMoP, and which ones are the best.
Also... do I need the main campaign for each of the settings to run a one shot?
I'm sorry no one responded to your questions earlier. AL modules would be ideal for this; I've used them that way myself.
AL modules are divided up into tiers based on character level; if your players are carrying over their characters from LMOP, you will want to start with Tier 2 adventures.
If by your "main campaign" you mean do you need the corresponding hard cover adventure to run that season's AL modules, the answer is no. The AL modules are separate, and usually happen in a different region of Faerun. (The exception is the AL modules for TOA)
I would suggestion choosing a season and running the level appropriate modules from it, rather than skipping around between seasons. There is an overarching theme/story line, but it's eason for characters to drop in and out between sessions.
The first few seasons were mostly 4 hour on-shots. Curse of Strahd and Storm King's Thunder are mostly 2 hours, although several of the SKT modules can take longer than 2 hours. I've not run Strahd, so I can't comment there.
I have found the comments and discussion section on the page for each module on DMs Guild to be very helpful in prepping the adventures and identifying issues I need to think through. The quality of the adventures really varies.
The themes are the same, and the overarching "plot" is the same (in the sense that giants are trying to assert their dominance), but the AL modules are separate adventures in different locations. I ran all the tier 1 modules and didn't have or need the hardcover.
I will say that for Tomb of Annihilation (aka TOA), it's probably helpful to have the hardcover if you run the AL modules. But I don't know for sure. I'm running the hardcover and have not purchased any of the downloadable AL modules. AL seems to work very differently in the TOA season than in previous seasons, at least when it comes to the downloadable modules. There aren't nearly as many "official" modules (with the DDAL code), but many of the Guild Adept modules (which may or may not be one shots, they don't all provide run times like the DDAL modules) are AL legal.
I am managing to run the hard cover TOA with a semi open table, but not really as a series of one shots.

Thanks a lot!!!
I had a very quick look to a couple of adventures from SKT, and seemed to be related to the hard cover adventure. That's why I dropped the idea.
