Good morning/afternoon/night. I'm LightWolf23, I'm also a new dm playing LMOP with a few players. A few have left and others have joined since then. My questions are: What books do I need to use/ what you recommend? Currently I have a physical copy of dmg. Digital copy of Basic Rules, Elemental Evil Player's companion, LMOP, COS:character options, Acquisitions Incorporated, Frozen Sick, and Montrous Compendium vol one: spelljammer.
The Basic Rules & SRD are mostly sufficient and they’re free, but if you have the DMG, then the PHB is pretty much the next thing to get followed by the Monstrous Manual. Those three books together are the “core three.” After that, the rest is all optional, but I would recommend Xanathar’s Guide the most. After that, most people will recommend Tasha’s Cauldron and Mordenkainen’s Monsters of the Multiverse.
