Apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere (as it seems it must), but how many swarms can occupy the same space?
"The swarm can occupy another creature's space and vice versa ..."
1 medium sized PC, six swarms of insects (pulled straight from MM). How many swarms can attack the PC at once? Last night when this came up, I ruled just one. The swarm is already more than the 4 tiny creatures that would usually fit into a medium space, so in that sense it's already a stack. And the text of its ability seems to imply to me that the intent is for one singular swarm to occupy one singular other creature's space and vice versa. But logically, if I've got room on my body to be stung by 20 scorpions, I've got room for 100, so why couldn't I get swarmed by multiple swarms?
I think pantagruel is right. Personally, I wouldn’t let two swarms occupy the same space, since to my mind, it’s just a bigger swarm. Unless it was some kind of swarm fight.
If I wanted the fight against the swarm to ba particularly challenging then I would let two swarms gang up on a single creature. But that makes the combat more than twice as challenging because of the wound allocation shenanigans you could pull. I mean, really. I would have to want to make the fight particularly challenging to do it. But yes, RAW it is possible.

RAW there's no particular limit, though the DM may decide six swarms in a single space is implausible.
