Is a Gibbering Mouther even interested in constructs like a warforged?
Are they intelligent enough to discern between what is edible/nourishing and what is not?
Doesn't seem like they would purposefully target a creature that wasn't fleshy in nature outside of a fight/flight situation. If it's smart enough to know something doesn't appear to be something it can eat/incorporate then it would likely ignore it for a creature that is "food like."
I'd say it wouldn't necessarily be interested in a warforged unless it was attacked by one. Not because warforged are constructs, because they're not, they're humanoids, but because their humanoid body is comprised of relatively inedible parts. If a creature wouldn't eat a tree with metal plating, it wouldn't eat a warforged. Of course, if the tree was beating the shit out of it, it would probably fight back.

I mean, warforged are clearly stated to be made of wood and metal. While I'm sure those aren't their only components, obviously, flesh would definitely be mentioned if it was part of them.
A Gibbering Mouther has Int 3 and no special senses that would clearly identify a warforged as inedible. It might take a bite, decide inedible, and spit out, but that doesn't really help the target much.
I guess the question is really "Can a Gibbering Mouther distinguish a Warforged from a normal flesh-person in a suit of armor?" It is really more of a "gnaw on all things that look like food" sort of monster....and basically everything looks like food?
"All-Consuming. Driven to devour any creature it can reach,"
Seems like it doesn't matter what the warforged is made of. If it is a creature, the Gibbering Mouther wants to eat it.
This feels like the clincher to me. I imagine the Gibbering Mouther would at the very least probably give a Warforged a bite and if decides it doesn't taste very appetizing move on.

Thoughts?
Warforged are not Constructs, they are Humanoids.

Who’s to say that the metal plated tree doesn’t have meatbits incorporated? 🤷♂️

You are all awesome, thanks for all the helpful responses and thanks for the correction on Warforged being humanoids and not constructs.
