Okay... Maybe we should use a different system for the next one?

I could try setting up a Google Doc Poll if everyone would like, but I cannot guarantee that will go any better as I have not used it before).
As another idea, what would people think about using a judge panel system going forward? The idea would be that the winner of each CotFB would design the next competition as normal, but instead of open voting the top three participants from the previous competition would serve as a judging panel. It could also be interesting if each judge was willing to also write short reviews of their favorite entries, so other competitors can see what impressed and what didn't. It would put more work on a few individuals, so if this was something we wanted to try we would probably also want to increase the voting period to give the judges ample time to carefully look over things.
Idk, I fear that any open voting format will be prone to bad faith influences (either through trolling or the thread-maker's ability to remove votes).

Another thing that could help is that when making a poll the results could be kept private. IDK if it is possible to change that setting later on to reveal the results, but if you can that would probably help mitigate people who are troll voting. At the very least, it would help prevent people from targeting specific individuals with 1s or 5s to try and influence the outcome dishonestly.
The issue with this approach is then you lose out on the fun of monitoring how your favorite entries are doing

I like that... I would prefer our open voting but if it continues to get corrupted like this one... I'd prefer the panel of judges idea. The only problem is that it makes small biases more prominent (for instance, say judge A doesn't like theme B. They may vote low on high quality homebrew of theme B, and with only two other judges to counteract it those would most likely be out of the competition). I think it's mostly fine if we just ask them to ignore there biases as much as possible, and know that the results may be ever so slightly skewed.
Another possible solution would to have the creator just choose a winner. It's even less ideal than your idea, but if that doesn't work for some reason (no one wants to be a judge or the judges troll it) it may be worth looking at. It's also worth considering if the weird votes are trolls/cheats/dishonest voting... It's different than what we think seems right, but maybe it's actually their opinion? I think it's unlikely, but it's worth considering at least.
Or, this is just for fun really. If we wanted we could just kindly ask people to not troll/be incredibly biases/"make it more interesting" or whatever, and just realize that the result are likely to be wrong/skewed, but it's just for fun anyway. IDK what you think.
Though, before we consider drastic action, we should probably try at least one more normally, just ask kindly not to to troll the results to cheat or whatever. There's been four CotFBs so far and only one has been trolled so... who knows, maybe it's just this weird time for some reason. IDK.

Sadly it is not possible, at least as far as I am aware. That would probably work, but sadly we can't do it with DDB polls. But, you can do that with google forms! So people can still vote somewhat dishonestly or troll, but I think it's definitely worth a try. Then if it doesn't work we could always try using your panel of judges idea... IDK about what everyone else thinks. Wanna create a private message with everyone who wants to be part of the conversation, to discuss it more?

I'm not to worried about judges trolling the results, since chances are if you were willing to put time and effort into putting a quality submission in for a previous competition you are probably invested in the competition as a whole and be less likely to mess things up just for the fun of it.

Announcement
I have started a Google Doc to poll the entries and their votes (similar to the polls above). I encourage everyone to go and vote on the document , even if you have already voted. By using a google doc, I will be able to more closely monitor the votes. I will compare and contrast the results of that poll with this one.
Competition of the Finest Brew IV Voting Poll
Note: If I see votes which appear to be obvious trolling, they will be removed.
I am also going to extend the deadline for voting to November 17th to account for "redoing" the poll

Such a shame that the poll got ruined. Is there any way to make the poll private and invite only those who entered the competition to vote?
Alternatively have people post their reviews and scores in the thread, though that may skew things as people may not want to give low scores if it's publicly available...

Basically a few of use got upset that some people appear to be trolling the votes so we remade them...
I'm not sure if that's a good idea... I think we want other people to be allowed to vote.
That could work... I think if a google form was not an option then that'd be a good second choice.

Yes. It has gotten 10 responses so far. I had to remove one because it appeared to be dishonest/trolling, which leaves us with 9 respondents so far (for a total of 198 votes, as the doc should require respondents to vote for every entry before submitting)
