I am currently trying to homebrew a creature which attack does 1 piercing + (1d4) Fire damage, but can't figure out the formula for such a thing and therefore hopes someone in the homebrewing community can help me.
An “Attack” like attached to an Action, or something else?
It really isn’t possible to create one action that can display two different types of damage like that. You would need to just create it as 1d4+1 fire damage and list in the snippet that the +1 is piercing instead. (In truth, it doesn’t really matter as whosever character it is would still have to say it to the DM unless you are exporting to a VTT, but that’s technically not allowed by DDB so they don’t give a fig if that’s an issue.

I am the DM and export to Foundry VTT.
Guess I just put a note that 1 of that damage is Piercing.
If you're wanting to homebrew a creature, you can make a copy of a creature whose attack does 1 piercing and a die roll of some other damage, and see how that's set up. Flying snake is one quick example.

Look up the Flying Snake on Foundry and now know the formula for 1 piercing + 1d4 fire :)
The Dice rolls on DDB also indicate the formula works, so thanks for the help guys.
So it was for a monster, not an action intended for PCs to take?!? I wish I hadn’t missed that before! 🤦♂️ I’da dropped ya the roll code for it from one’s my ‘brews. In case you need it, here’s the link to the “how-to” for rollcodes for ya:
