I am trying to update my homebrew race(s) to work with the new mindset of allowing players to choose which abilities to increase by 1 or 2 points. I cannot figure out how to make that happen. Any help would be appreciated.

You would make two Options, one that grants +2/+1, and another that grants +1/+1/+1. I explained how to set up Options properly here; (Subclasses & Races #1):

I tried playing around with options and when I created them, then tried to create a character with that race, the options didn't show up anywhere.

Each Option needs Modifiers attached to it. The Modifier you need to use is as follows:

Modifier: Bonus→Subtype: "[Ability] Ability Score"→Fixed Value: X

That’ll get’er done. So on the +2/+1 you would add that Modifier twice, once with X as 2, and once with X as 1. On the other Option you add that modifier three times as 1.
