I'm trying to create a homebrew race of rock people with a Natural Armor feature that is identical to that of the Tortle (Can't wear armor, has a base AC of 17 which isn't affected by Dex), but it seems like no matter which Modifiers I try to use, I can't get it to translate correctly to the character sheet. Can someone tell me which Modifier I need to use and how? Thank you
So, one of the best ways to learn how to do homebrew is to make a copy of the thing you want to replicate and see how it was set up. You can literally duplicate something that you have access to and see exactly how it is programed into dnd beyond.
I'd also recommend going to the homebrew forums and reading some of the pinned tutorials there, one of which is linked in blue below.
In addition to the fantastic advice that ConalTheGreat has given you, another thing to remember is that whenever you add anything to, change anything on, or remove anything from any homebrew you MUST re-save the entire thing using the main [SAVE CHANGES] button under Basic Information or the system will not pick up your changes. There are also links to several homebrew tutorials and an FAQ in my signature as well
