I have been trying to create a unique little bit of homebrew, my own take on an Aeronaut Artificer. Of course, the primary concept of the subclass is the personal flying device you get to create! (see movie: The Rocketeer for the general vibe.) Now I have been trying to implement a granted fly speed, and have this speed increase as you gain more subclass features. I managed to get the speed to display from the first place by using set -> speed(flying) = 30. However, the later on abilities of bonus -> speed(flying) = 15 did not increase the fly speed by 15 as I had expected it to. Can anyone please advise me as to where I went wrong?
Instead of “Set->Speed (flying)->30,” try “Set->Innate Speed (Flying)->30.”
The modifier subtype you used hard sets the speed. The subtype I am recommending sets the base flying speed and lets that get increased later with the Bonus Modifier.
Ooh! I will try using that subtype again, I had tried that previously and for whatever reason it did not want to show up on the ol' character sheet that way. Will see if it gets me the desired results this go around.

Please see the General FAQ #s 6 & 6-B: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/131411-a-homebrewers-how-to-faq). That will likely explain why it wasn’t showing before.
