I am trying to create something similar to a Genie warlock. I know that I need options for it for the subclass, and I can add spells to those options that would always be prepared. But how can I add certain spells to each option, that can be learned? (=They are not always prepared, just added to the list of learnable spells - and the Additional Specific Spells is not a solution, since I want to add different spells to the different options)
It's not something I've personally done, but at a guess I'd say you want the Spell entry to be Consumes Spell Slot (Yes), Counts As Known Spell (Yes), Always Prepared (No), and don't touch any other settings except to add the specific spell you want.
However you may need to experiment to get it right (and sadly homebrew on character sheets can take a up to 20 minutes to update, so this can be a very slow process).
If that doesn't work then you may need to use Additional Specific Spells on a feature to add all of the spells, and just list in text which specific ones are allowed (i.e- DM/player needs to restrict themselves), but hopefully the Spell entry option will work; I know it can work, but added spells can sometimes interact strangely with the different caster types.

I remain a free user only until my groups are done migrating from DDB, and if necessary D&D, after which I'm done. There are better systems owned by better companies out there.

If it’s for a warlock you don’t need Options at all. You would enter those spells in the Additional Specific Spells field under Basic Information. For Artificers, Clerics, Druids, and Paladins it adds those spells as “always prepared,” for everyone else it simply adds those spells to the list of spells you can learn. That’s how the Genie is set up.

I think the OP doesn't want always prepared spells, they want learnable spells that are different for each option?
Also for reference, the Genie does have some optional spells (for dao, marid etc.) so these will need to be placed under options, but they're always prepared. I'm guessing the OP wants some prepared spells, plus some other extras for each option that the player can choose if they want to?

I understand that they don’t want always prepared spells. As I said, that field will only add always prepared spells for spellcasters that prepare their spells. For casters that learn their spells, like warlocks, that field instead only adds spells to the list of spells they can learn. In addition, I know how the genie is supposed to work. If you actually use the genie as a template to see how it’s set up, that’s how it’s set up.

But it will add them to the entire sub-class; they won't be restricted based upon the options the player chooses?

Well great, then it's yet another thing DDB still can't be bothered to implement properly years after Tasha's release. 🤦♂️
I did run some tests and adding as individual Spell entries doesn't seem work no matter what options are chosen (does "Always Prepared" = No not work for Warlocks? Why not implement this DDB?).
One other possible alternative might be to put the spells under the Additional Spell List of a class feature, then use optional class features to replace it with a different list (or add an additional one)? So you'd choose the option by choosing an optional feature?

Correct.
And no, “Always Prepared” doesn’t work for subclasses for classes that don’t prepare spells, like the Warlock. That field is best left blank for those classes.
Wow, sorry for replying this late, and THANKS, I have no idea why haven't I thought about the Additional Spell List + Optional/Additional Feature combination, but you guys just solved this! Vielen Dank!
Just throwing this here even if its been two years, but i really didnt understand this solution. The genie spells that the entire subclass gets do work for the additional spell list under basic information, but the spells that come from the genie kind choice, how do i set those up? Because if i put them in the part below basic information, even someone who chose an efferit as their kind of genie would have wall of stone (from the dao genie), available to be learnt, no? But if i make a spell list inside an option, i run into all those problems mentioned by the OP.
