I have been making some homebrew stuff for my campaign for a while now, but I can't figure out how to get this weapon down. I am trying to make a character a bowie knife that basically works constantly under the Shillelage mechanics. So I want to make a weapon do 1d8 of slashing and use the wisdom stat for all its bonuses. I have been really frustrated with trying to make this work and would really appreciate some help.

What do you want to call it?
Paladin - warforged - orange
This is currently not possible to do with homebrew.

You can do it in a super jank way. I got it to work with subclass homebrew, and I'm pretty sure I can do it with a feat.
One way is to create an attack action, and you can set it to use wisdom.
Another way is just to customize on your sheet. Add the appropriate plus or minus manually.
But yeah. For some reason, creating an item to do it is not possible, which seems silly. All the choices are there, but it doesn't do anything.
