I'm trying to make the Harvester Background from Hamund's Harvester Handbook, but the Harvesting Kit is not an in-game tool so I can't add it as a Tool Proficiency. I saw a few other people who made the Harvester background have the Harvesting Kit, but when I try to type it in on the Tool Proficiency page it doesn't work.

How do I add proficiency for a homebrew tool?

Edit: Adding the kit as a Wondrous Item didn't work. Though I do at least have the item, now.

Those other homebrews must only be listing that proficiency in plain text, there is no way to add proficiency in a homebrewed tool other than by adding it directly to the character sheet as a custom proficiency.

Ok. So how do I list the proficiency in plain text? The only option I saw was to use the list.

You can enter anything you want in the Equipment Description field. The stuff you enter in those dropdowns on the forms won’t actually be visible to people, only what you enter into the description fields will be visible to people. You could write in that people are proficient with computers if you wanted to.

Ah, thank you. I thought that text showed from what I put in the drop-down menus.
