Hi! I came up with a Katana that is seeking for openings in a foe armor, bending and twisting itself to reach the flesh. It is lightweight and requires speed more than strength so that a character could use Dex instead of Str modifier for a melee attack with it. Is there a way to express this idea with modifiers for magic item? So far I am stuck trying Bonus to all types of attacks available. I keep getting bonuses to other weapons character is using, but not this Seeking Katana itself.
I will appreciate a specific advice or more details than the tutorial guideline on how the bonus modifiers applied (esp to the item itself). Thank you!

Is there a way to set main damage to 1d8 slashing for it directly overriding short sword (which is 1d6)? Or maybe there is a way to remove the Versatile weapon property when I base it on longsword instead? Versatility does not seem right for it.
Versatility seems right for a katana in my opinion since I can see being able to use it one-handed or two-handed. A light versatile weapon seems a little weird though so I understand where you're coming from. If you don't want versatility and do want finesse, why not base it on a rapier instead?

You probably right, versatility is not that 100% off with this weapon. Thank you for the rapier option!

Try selecting the modifier "Weapon Property" and select finesse.

Thank you, it is exactly the property I needed!
That sounds like a badass weapon. Can you send me a link?
Sure! But let me finish it first. I still struggling with few details :/
