Okay, who explain what is up with the races, subraces, and variants? I made a race (in a nut shell: think of it as bringing back Saurials), set it to have subraces, made a subrace it asks for a racial group, but Saurial isn’t a racial group, when picking the race on a test character it gives me the subrace hornhead; not under saurial, just on its own? Changed racial group to listing it as Lizardfolk, hornhead shows up under Lizardfolk still contains nothing of the original saurial info, just the hornhead properties.

There is no option to homebrew race groups. So if you're making a subrace or variant of an official base race then you can use that group. Otherwise, don't - it's not needed.

Okay, but then is there a point to homebrewing with subraces if the parent race won’t show up to explain what is common to the subraces?
The parent race you homebrew will show up. Just don't put it under a race group. It then just shows up on its own, then after you select it you'll see the info and can select a subrace.

Tried that, for some reason they don’t show under the parent race, maybe that wasn’t what you meant since they are showing saurial and horn head traits.

Hoping for some help / an explanation so I can avoid the following problem again: I created a small collection of similar magical items, but encountered a problem when sumitting them all to the community.
Broadly speaking I wanted a collection of items, similar in concept to Ioun Stones, except mine are variant types of magical whetstones. I created a top-level generalized entry (as Stones of Laduguer) and multiple additional entries for the different variantions and their separate effects, e.g. a Stone of Laduguer (Magic), Stone of Laduguer (Radiant), etc. I submitted all of these to be shared with the community and... three of them disappeared from my list of Homebrew Creations immediately.
I have now discovered that the missing entries appear to be "previous versions" of one of the entries I submitted (Stone of Laduguer (Silver)) rather than separate items in their own right. I guess I understand why they're not listed any more, but this wasn't what I wanted. I'm pretty sure that I didn't create each of these as a "new version" of an existing one, although they ARE similarly named and the first paragraph of each description is identical. I don't believe there is a way to see whether a new homebrew entry is going to be treated as a new/replacement entry for an existing one, else I hope I would have spotted this potential problem.
I guess I need to re-create each of these entries that has been swallowed up, but I'm not confident that I won't just be going round in circles and always be unintentionally replacing an existing entry. Any help appreciated!
The problem is that you used the first one and made copies of it to make the subsequent ones. There’s a glitch with items when you do that. You have to create each one individually.

OK. I understand the glitch now, and in my mind this is definitely counter-intuitive behaviour!
I had assumed that I had foolishly used the CREATE NEW VERSION button to make alternatives of an existing item; I did not. It seems that when I used the +CREATE A MAGIC ITEM button and used the option to base the new one on an existing one as a template, it effectively created a new version of the one that I copied? I just walked through those steps and the problem re-occurred: I created the new one correctly, and it showed as a separate entry in My Creations, but sharing the new one to the community banished the one I had based it on back into version history.
As you say, I needed to use CREATE FROM SCRATCH and fill in everything from a blank slate.

Correct, it is a glitch that only affects magic items though. Don’t know why. 🤷♂️
I don't seem to be able to get it to work and I don't see it addressed here, but how do you get a Bonus to attack rolls based on a die to work.
e.g. An item that when attuned, adds a permanent 1d4 to your attack with melee weapons?
This is what I've set, but it doesn't seem to affect anything in the character sheet. If I set a fixed value Bonus of +5, it works just fine as expected, but I can't seem to get a button to roll:

Another homebrew question my searching failed to turn up an answer to:
Can I create a Homebrew Feat, that has a pre-requisite of another Homebrew Feat? I created one intending to chain them, and even tried publishing it, but when I create a second one that requires the first, only the official list of feats appears.
I even tried adding other published feats to my homebrew collection and they don't appear either. Is it something that's simply not allowed?

Correct, that is not possible.
Side Note: Publishing a home few never fixes anything, it typically only makes things worse. If something isn’t working, the worst thing you can do is publish anything since it will never fix your problem. Don’t even bother trying to see if publishing will fix it, I guarantee you it will not.
Until I published a Spell, I could not use that spell in another Magic Item I was creating. There was a specific error message about it. That's where I thought publishing it would help here.
thanks
Making a feat where i want the action to be 1d4 + the strength modifier, how can i program this into the dndbeyond tool?

Unless things have drastically changed recently, that is incorrect. Once subraces are added to a Homebrew race, the race is no longer selectable at all, and only the subraces will appear in the builder. I haven't seen if this has been asked but I was wondering how to make a weapon that uses a specific attribute for damage.
Like what I want to make is a set of brass knuckles that deal the user's strength score as the damage instead of rolling dice for damage.
I'll appreciate any constructive criticism on how to make them like weapon properties or what to use as a base weapon.
You cannot.
