Hi, I was wondering if it's correct to lock cantrips to a spesific amount on the character sheet. I can understand in on the character creator to avoid mistakes. But some campaigns might give you a new cantrip as a reward. But having a lock on the amount you can have on the character sheet itself makes it harder and harder to have characters develop, and I do hope it could be changed so you have more freedom on the character sheet itself without having to load the sheet and manually change it. since that makes it hard for the DM to check up on things since the sheet will no longer be correct when he views it.

The D&D character builder follows the published 5th edition rules, which is you get a limited number of cantrips known.
If the DM wants to give cantrips as a reward, the easiest thing to do would make a homebrew magic item that adds the awarded cantrip as a spell known.

Ive just made a homebrew feat called "additional cantrips." I made 3 lists, one for each spellcasting ability and set it for "is infinite."
Hey there, how do you make that feat? I am horrible making homebrew
Add spell - class: artificer and wizard - spell level: cantrip - casting ability: intelligence - is infinite
Repeat for each casting type.
Though now, I'm thing of removing the class limitations.
