I have been spending the last 2 hours trying to figure out how to make this Expanded Spell List for my Hexblade Warlock and since I do not own XGtE I thought I might as well homebrew the Subclass. I had made the table and I then went to add a spell. I will use the first 2 spells you get at 1st Level as an example. This is what I selected. 'Add A Spell' ---> 'Spell' (Shield, Wrathful Smite), 'Spell Level' (1), 'Spell Class' (Warlock), 'Ability Score' (Charisma), 'Consumes Spell Slot' (Yes), 'Counts As Known Spell' (Yes), 'Always Prepared' (Yes).
The problem is that when I go and check my character I realise that the spells are not 'Always Prepared' and when I go to the Character Builder it also gives me an option to select a spell but in the class features part, not in spells. I am not sure if I have to wait a couple of minutes for it to catch up or something. If you know what the problem is please tell me.
REMEMBER: Wizards Of The Coast does not own DDB, they are two different companies. When you buy a physical book, WotC receives the money you bought it for, not DDB and vice versa. If you want a digital key to get an online book for free because you have the hardcopy book then DDB makes no money because you don't buy off DDB you buy off WotC, so please stop making threads about this issue. DDB needs money to continue helping people and servers aren't cheap.
Warlock subclass spells are not “always prepared,” they only get added to the regular list of spells from which a Warlock can learn.
The correct way to add them is in the “additional specific spells” field under “basic information.”
🤦 Are you serious?
Thanks anyway for letting me know.
