Anyone knows the Holy water's properties, huh?? And the PHB book says if anyone throws the holified Water on any target, it gets Radiant damage, right ??? But the book dosen't says a word, or a clear description, about what if the target DRINKS the Holy water. Does he/she needs to throw a CON saving throw ?? Does he/she adquires a particular buff, like if it gets Resistance to Necrotic damage for 1 hour, or something else ??
I get worried about what could happens in this specific case, can anyone help me about this ???
A flask of holy water is a material component for some spells, like protection from evil and good and magic circle. If a creature is vulnerable to it, it will say so in the creature's stat block.
If they drink the Holy Water, RAW absolutely nothing happens at all. If the DM decides to change that, that is up to them.
These are the only “properties” of Holy Water:
As an action, you can splash the contents of this flask onto a creature within 5 feet of you or throw it up to 20 feet, shattering it on impact. In either case, make a ranged attack against a target creature, treating the holy water as an improvised weapon. If the target is a fiend or undead, it takes 2d6 radiant damage.
A cleric or paladin may create holy water by performing a special ritual. The ritual takes 1 hour to perform, uses 25 gp worth of powdered silver, and requires the caster to expend a 1st-level spell slot.
I know this is late, but if anyone want to check it out. I just made a homebrew common weapon for Clerics and Paladins called "Silver Chained Aspergillum [Str. Removed]", I'm sure it's not what you're look for but it could you and idea on other ways holy water can be used. In addition, I really could use some feed back.
