Moving up but behind the chalk line, Randall says, “I will hold the line against it,” as he conjures a ghostly mace to smite the creature from a distance.
Move to behind the chalk line to be in the front tank against the creature.

Tempe doesn't notice any apparent weaknesses, other than the attacks and spells that have hit have done damage.
The Crinder screeches as it moves up to Randall standing at the line, taking 14 piercing damage and attacking Randall with a bite and the other trying to coil around him.
Bite Attack: 30 Damage: 32 piercing damage
Constrict Attack: 23 Damage: 19 bludgeoning damage and also 17 slashing damage.
If the constrict attack hits the target is considered both grappled and restrained (escape DC 16, which you make on your turn).

(Based on the rolls, the bite with disadvantage missed, but the constrict hit. Original damage was 32 points and he is now constricted)
Randall:
Dodging as best he can, Randall narrowly misses getting mauled by the creature’s maw, but the tail is another story. It cuts and bashes him, gripping him in a fearsome embrace!

Pepin walks forward to stand next to Randall. He first takes his all-purpose tool creating a tiny force ballista on Randal's shoulder. After which his bonus action is used to attack the creature.
Attack: 20 Damage: 5
And on a hit the target is pushed 5ft backwards.

Pepin's tiny ballista strikes the Crinder and illicits another screech from it as it is pushed back 5 feet and suffers another 4 damage.
A brief summary of the 1st round, there were some misses and some hits, the hits did regular damage so there are no apparent resistances. It has to deal with an area of Spike Growth but also has constricted partially around Randall which gave him the Grappled and Restrained conditions.
I have to double check but I believe if you are forcefully moved while grappling you lose the grapple? At least that is how I am ruling it for now so Randall is free of those conditions.
The Crinder has been pushed 5 feet back and away from Randall.

Nodding his to Pepin as the creature is pushed off of him, Randall says, “Thanks—stay behind me.” The wounded cleric grabs his prayer beads quickly, invoking healing, then he prepares to defend the group once more. His Spiritual Weapon waits for instructions, but Randall’s focus is elsewhere.
