Petcan will cast a bolt of fire after the fleeing bugbear

Grim goes after the retreating bugbear (if it is still retreating and not dead). If he can catch up he will see if it surrenders, if not he attacks

Grim Attack: 15 Damage: 12

Petcan blasts a fiery hole in the bugbear's hide armor and wounds the poor creature severely.

It yet lives and when Grim chases it down it realizes it can't flee and turns to fight. Grim takes it's head off.

The bugbear that decided to stay and fight is the only one remaining.

Seeing only one bugbear remaining bow fires of two more quickshot with his hand crossbow

Bow kills the last bugbear with his 1st shot.

You all are out of combat.

(I was debating on whether or not to throw 3 or 4 bugbears... because of their surprise feature, 3 would of been deadly and 4 was pushing beyond that.)

(Taking out 4 bugbears at level 2 when they get surprise and drop your main healer in the 1st round... that's something you can always brag about.)

After killing the last bugbear Bow looks around to his companions

"Well those were tough; how is everyone doing? I could use a rest myself" he says looking at his injuries.

Randall:

”How did we survive that?” asks Randall, adding, “Let us find a secure place to rest and I can dress everyone’s wounds.”

*thud* You look over and find that Ceo has simply collapsed on the ground, and he starts humming something.

"Today I swear I'm mmm mm mmm m mm mm *Whistle* Today I'm just gonna mm mm my mm m mm *Whistle*"

He sits up suddenly and says

"Morninglord eh? Who's he and why do you two like me enough to keep me alive?" Ceo asks Randall.

OOC: Do we level up again since that was a near death experience?

Randall:

”Why, Lathander, my deity, is known as the Morninglord.  The god of renewal and healing has seen fit to give me sufficient power to keep us from dying,” answers the priest, smiling that Ceo is taking an interest in at least the more practical aspects of his religion.

”I have some healing power remaining, but mundane medicine and rest can do much the same if we have the time to find a secure location,” he adds.

You find a quiet area nearby that seems less traveled. You can all easily take a short rest here or try for a long rest.

The faint and distant sounds of chirping birds and small chittering animals can be heard as the natural ambiance of the woods slowly returns to normal.

"Cool, I'mma try to sleep. Wake me up if anything interesting happens. That's a joke, by the way. I stay in a state of semi-cons... yeah you don't care. See y'all in an hour."

I'm going to try for a long rest.

"I also have some healing abilities if anyone still needs it. If Ceo doesn't mind keeping an eye out while we rest, we should be in good shape" Grim says

(Before leaving the bugbears Bow will have checked the bodies for anything of interest)

"Ah this seems like a good spot for a rest. Lets take an hour and than leave again; at least one person as watch at al times?"

Randall:

”Don’t forget to search the bodies for useful items,” reminds Randall as they prepare to head off to rest.

OOC:  Short rest is enough for Randall unless people need additional magical healing...

Petcan appears to be just going with the flow, and whistles while searching the bugbears before taking a rest with everyone, and scrubbing blood off his clothes.

You search the bugbears and then manage to take an hour long afternoon nap, awakening in the early evening.

You find 24 silver coins and 22 gold coins in total amongst all 4 bugbears.

(go ahead and reset hp and other things as per a long rest.)

If we are going on a stealth mission, Ceo is totally going to start playing the pink panther theme on his pan pipes. If asked what he's doing, he simply replies;

"I dunno it just feels right."

This doubles as bardic inspiration if anyone would like that.

"Alright, found some coin on the bugbears everyone wants some?"

(It does look like Fahrin and Eko are no longer with us as they have not posted in some time and haven't even leveled up.)

Syvis takes the time to make some more goodberry and keep them in his satchel for emergencies (or if anyone's hungry). He sits down for rest, with the breeze and bird chirping and the pink panther theme song from Ceo...
