Frank: Your whip flies through the air hitting deep into the flying swarm of the books. The swarm however just splits in half and reforms back when the whip disappears. ((You miss))
The swarm continues to move towards the door, when it reaches Mydri it starts to swirl around her and the largest of the books flings itself against her. Attack: 11 Damage: 5
Luckily For her, Mydri manages to dodge the flying book in the last moment.
((Mydri and the swarm are standing in the same tile. The attack of the swarm is officially called "Book Club"))
Zuri was paying so much atention to the cat she didn´t even relize that Gethin left the room. "Aren´t you just the cutest little thing Olarune? Such a sweet little kitty. Hey Gethin! Isn´t she just adorable? ...Gethin?"
After she realizes there´s no one around her she will walk back into the hallway to see if she can see or hear anyone.

Mydri's grabs her trident with both hands. As she tries to skewer the book that tried to hit her, you notice it looks more as if the trident is leading her hands, rather than she leading it herself. It makes sense, as she doesn't look particularly strong.
Zuri: As you move to the hallway, you can see you friends at the other end of the hallway, standing in one of the doors. You can see from the distance, they are probably engaged in combat, but since the enemy is inside the room, you have no idea what are they fighting. They are roughly 50 feet away for you.
((If you decide to join your friends, make an initiative roll, and describe your round 2. Remember that you can't see the enemy and unless you find some clever way, you won't be able to interact with the enemy this round.))
((Rest of you: I'll give Gethin some time to react))

Gethin begins to reach for his pouch, then he hesitates. He sees all the books and realises that his little trick with fire might be a terrible idea here. He swings the crossbow round on its sling, lines it up at the flapping pile of books and tries to line up a shot
"See if I can pin that damned thing to the wall"
He pulls the trigger and looses the bolt, then almost automatically lowers the bow to crank hard on the lever to draw the string back again
Another thorny vine flies from Frank's hand deep into the swirling books, but again, the books just split in the air and dodge the vine. ((I suppose you wanted the thorn whip again, the tooltip is broken)).
As Mydri dodges the flying book that tried to hit her, she instantly tries to jab the attacking book but it suddenly changes the direction it is flying and dodges the attack. As she recovers from her trident strike, Mydri can hear a woosh as a bolt flies near her head and with a thud hits one of the bookshelves. Luckily for her, the sound of the bolt instinctively makes her dodge with her head as another heavy book tries to hit her.
When Zuri manages to join the fight, she sees Mydri inside a swirling vortex of flying books. Her other companions are gathered in the hallway just outside of the door that lead into the library-like looking room, while Mydri stands just barely inside the room.

Seeing she is in the line of fire, Mydri steps away from the books. As she does, her weapon once again seems to lead both her hands trying to skewer the books.
Move: Out of the books' space, though remaining within 5' for her attack. Action: Attack: 15 Piercing Damage: 8.
Frank's vine manages to wrap one of the larger books forming the swarm. With a sudden move of Franks's hand, the vine tears the book in half. You can see the rapid change of the books' flying pattern as the swarm tries to rebalance its shape.
Mydri leverages the change in the vortex's behavior and manages to slip outside of its center. While doing so she tries to make another jab at one of the larger books and manages to impale it. The Swarm again tries to reform it's shape, but with the largest books destroyed, many of the smaller books just harmlessly fall to the ground and the vortex is now much sparser than before.
Gethin aims at one of the few remaining books and manages to hit it. The power of his crossbow is large enough to pin the book to one of the shelves at the opposite wall.
The swarm tries to defend itself and hurls one of its few remaining books against Mydri.
As the vortex attacks Mydri, Zuri takes advantage of its attack and slashes the remaining large book with her claws. As she tears the book all remaining tomes just harmlessly fall to the ground.
((Combat is over))
Roll for Frank ((Thorn whip)): Attack: 18 Damage: 6
Mydri tries to calm down, though she doesn't seem calm at all. She looks more like she's about to burst into tears... but she doesn't. She lower her guard, though her weapon remains in her hand. "I never liked books too much. It seems they don't like me either." The Half-Elf says. Nevertheless, she looks around the room. Maybe there are more pictures of people like before, or a view, or just anything at all. Pretty much anything that isn't books, flying or not.
"Is everyone alright?" She says as she peaks into the room.
She will then walk in and look at the least damaged looking book that was a part of the swarm. "Why would books attack a person? This place is so strange."
As you enter the library, there seems to be no further immediate danger. As you check the various books in the shelves, based on their names, you guess they mainly deal with topics like arcana, natural science, religion and astrology. You also find a few books dealing with poetry, mythology, and folk tales. On of the tables, you can see a a few more books, one that catches your eye has a picture of a noble looking mansion on it's cover. Next to the book lies a jeweled letter opener.
Zuri: The least damaged of the "large" books that formed the swarm is the one currently pined by Gethin's bolt to one of the shelves. The book seems to be written in a complex scientific language, but mainly due to several pictures and diagrams, you think that the main topic it deals with is animation of normally inanimate ordinary items, like the brooms you have seen before.
Gethin's eye is caught by the book with the mansion on it, he turns it over in his hands examining the cover before he carefully opens it to see what it might say inside.
"This one looks interesting, that letter opener too. Seems valuable, might be worth a close look."
Frank initiative: 23 and he will thorn whip this abomination of a creature!
Attack: 12 Damage: 4 aaand he will step out the room.

Zuri will put away her sling, not wanting to hit Mydri with it and will instead cast Primal Savagery.
You can see her fingernails grow longer and bigger. She will try and slash with her claws at the books attacking Mydri.
To hit: 6 acid damage:9
Seeing she is in the line of fire, Mydri steps away from the books. As she does, her weapon once again seems to lead both her hands trying to skewer the books.

"Well that was strange, magical animated books attacking. I've always rather liked books too"
Gethin goes to retrieve his crossbow bolts. Then he will begin to check out the room for anything interesting that's not actively trying to kill them.
Mydri tries to calm down, though she doesn't seem calm at all. She looks more like she's about to burst into tears... but she doesn't. She lower her guard, though her weapon remains in her hand.
