"Well no point running risks if we are not going to investigate what we find to see if there is value from it. But i agree, I'm probably better at investigating than keeping watch for the next threat to arrive"
Gethin: You try to skim through the book but it is too long and complex and proper study would take several hours or even days. From what you can gather, the book seems to be related to the one you've seen in the tower, and also deals with conjuration of buildings. The cover of the book is masterfully crafted. Mansion on the front is exquisitely painted. On the spine, there is a small silhouette of a person , most likely a wizard, and below that a calligraphic letter "R".
Zuri, seeing that the book is quite difficult to read losts interest in it. She sees Mydri a bit shaken from the fight and she wants to lift her mood up, but is not sure what to say.
"Hey, umm.. are you okay? You´re not hurt, right?" She asks Mydri. "Why did the books attack you? Was it something in this room that triggerd it?"
"I don't know." Mydri answers, her voice calmer than she looks. "All I did was enter the room. This place does not like me, I can tell. The cat that ignored me, the broom that won't answer and the books that attack on sight... I'll understand if that makes you want to stay away from me. Don't feel obliged to stay by." She looks around. Books, many books. Perhaps she should try a different room, though she starts thinking about simply leaving this place. This is already the second room filled with books... she might not be able to satisfy her curiosity here. She starts for the door, then looks outside the room at the hallway. How many rooms that she can see had she not been to yet?
Gethin takes the interesting looking book and puts it in his bag to study later, he picks up the letter opener and also puts it in his bag to examine at leisure
"Right then, shall we go check out somewhere else?"
He looks round to see that the others have already done that, with a wry smile he follows them
As you enter the last door, you find yourself on a semicircular patio paved with gray flagstones, nestled against the building. From here, you can see the mansion is surrounded in a swirling indigo miasma, that illuminates the patio. You can see no other scenery, or even ground other than the miasma, outside of the mansion.
"Well I'm not going any further, that does not look inviting at all. More like a good way to get lost in some strange plane of existence forever. Did anybody notice any other doors while they were looking in the other rooms?"
Zuri feels a bit sad after listening to Mydri. "I don´t think that´s true. Cats are very proud creatures, and the books could have attacked anyone that walked into the room." She tries to lift her mood up but has no idea why or how a broom would talk. Although it seems that anything is possible in this place.
As she´s talking to Mydri she walks through the door to the patio. Walking through the mansion felt like they were in a different place, but seeing this makes Zuri reliaze just how far away they are. "It does look quite ominous." She says, definitely a bit stunned by what she sees. "I don´t know about doors but I think I saw some stairs leading up. I think they were close to the kitchen."
Mydri follows. "I don't know, but I haven't been to all of the rooms yet. I only looked through this side of the hallway." She looks down at the miasma. It doesn't bother her too much. "Do we continue, or should we go back? This place is hostile towards me, I wouldn't explore it on my own anymore."
”Yes, it’s tempting to split up to explore faster but those books could have killed someone on their own. Best to stick together until we know where is safe. So let’s go check out these stairs”
He turns his back on the miasma and heads back to the kitchen where the stairs were
You follow the hallway back to the stairs you've seen earlier. The landing at the top of the stairs is occupied a by a suit of armor holding a longsword, point down. It sits on a wooden stand in front of a large window. You can see two doors near the stairs, one leading to the left (west) part of the mansion and one leading to the right (east) part of the mansion.
"Lets be careful with anything that could be dangerous if its animated. Like that armor. Other than that what do we think, left or right for the doors. Or should I take out a copper and flip it?"
As you look at the armor, you see it is more a decorative piece than an actual combat quality armor. The sword it is holding does however look like an actual weapon. You also notice there is a third possible path. Right above the armor you notice a trapdoor.
"I'd go left." Mydri answers shyly. "Left is usually better." She looks down. It was a kind of superstition, yes, but when given such a choice, which was a very rare thing for Mydri, she'd go left. "Does one of you wish to lead the way?"
Gethin chuckles

There is only one more door in this part of the hallway, but unlike the other doors that were at the side this one are at the end.
((ie. if you just walk straight in he hallway you hit the last door. Hope it makes sense)).
Frank is bored in the hallway, so he'll go and check out the last door. Open it and peek in.

*Just a quick recap of the doors/rooms you've encountered so far (starting from the patio you are in right now)*
Anyone who checked the
leftright part of the hallway noticed, there are some more doors there.Frank will slowly back off into the building and stay near the others. This is way over his little head.
Gethin looks round at Zuri
"Well if you saw stairs maybe we should go check them out. What does anyone else think?"
"Sounds good to me." She says. "Lets explore together so that no one else gets attacked or lost."
Gethin nods
