Cami also stops, a little uncertain. She's confused by the illusion being there but has no problem playing along with it if only to solve the enigma. "Why the wall again? If they can't get to us, we can't get to them. And it's not like they don't know we're here." She's half-whispering, to the point the ones on the other side of the wall would probably hear her. Instead of attacking she readies her crossbow and points at the illusory wall, readying to fire if someone walks through it. Again, there is no bolt loaded.
(Rolling the attack beforehand in case it happens, and it can get ignored if it doesn't.)
Attack:17Damage:11 Piercing
On their turn, Pocket is ordered to peak in inside the room, so (assuming the door isn't only 5 ft.) Cami's familiar flies a bit inside the room through the gap between the illusion and the top entrance, not because it couldn't cross the illusion but to keep the people inside believing it was real. There, they finally take a look around just before they fly back to where they started.
Pocket spies the duergar and the thug currently fumbling for weapons in front of a barricade of furniture they have put up in front of another door in the room. They have been caught completely by surprise. Meanwhile, Kassar and Cami ready their weapons for anyone to emerge from beyond the brick wall.
Ianric exhales deeply at the illusory wall but gives a shrug, stepping up to just behind the wall. His vestigial elbow tentacles seemed to wriggle with eager excitement as the magenta hued brawler held his shield in one hand, but had his free hand ready to grab anyone that may try to come through.
Readying an attempt to Grapple an enemy who comes through the illusory wall.
"Damned sneaks, why I oughta... What? What in Laduguer's name is this wall doin'..." Mutters the duergar.
"Forget that, Iwan! We're under attack, and you're not looking good! We gotta warn the boss, come on!"The other voice responds. You hear the clatter of boots on the floor followed by the slamming of a door.
We are out of initiative - for now!
"Sounds like they're running off to sound the alarm, let's get after them!" Renaer grunts, getting ready to move.
With a thought echoing within his head he decided to not vocalize, Ianric launched forward as well, hoping to get close enough to grab their fleeing targets and prevent them from alerting any others to their presence.
"Oops. Didn't expect that." Vyrax says before dashing through his wall. "Sometimes I forget how gullible people are." If he reaches the door, he'll open it and continue running.
You all rush after the fleeing thugs, making your way through a narrow hallway and across the river of sewage into a new, wider chamber.
Threadbare curtains hang on the east wall of a long hall, in the middle of which a muscular half-orc in dingy robes stands with his foot on the chest of a male human with wavy red-blond hair. Fire burns around the orc’s clenched fist, and his victim cries and squirms helplessly beneath him.
"Floon!" Renaer cries, readying his sword. "Unhand him!"
The wounded duergar spits blood on the floor, clutching his war pick, and the thug fro the Yawning Portal eyes you all warily with his scimitar drawn. Floating near the double doors to your right is a nightmarish figure wearing black robes. It has large white eyes and rubbery purple skin, with four tentacles encircling its inhuman mouth. It cradles and gently caresses what looks like a disembodied brain with feet. It sets the brain down, then looks at all of you. A sinister voice rings through your minds: "Neverember... you fools grabbed the wrong man. Kill them, but bring me Neverember alive!"
(Going to use the same initiative order as before for the sake of convenience, rolled mind flayer and intellect devourer in the campaign page)
Vyrax touches Ianric's shoulder. "Go, show them your might! This is not where I end your tale! Nothing can stop you, so do not be afraid! Show everyone I'm right. Show everyone you're the alpha male. Make those bruises on their bodies where they should be made!" His words all enchanted by various magical effects, Vyrax channels all his strength into Ianric. Fighting in the sewers... is a tiring activity, he concludes.
Action: Cast Heroism on Ianric. Ianric is now immune to the Frightened condition, and will gain 3 temporary HP at the beginning of each of his turns. BA: Give Ianric Vyrax's last inspiration die, a d6, which he can add to any ability check, attack roll or saving throw he makes in the near 10 minutes.

Vyrax's silver-tongued words rouse Bearhug's fighting spirit! The disembodied brain rushes Ianric and takes a swipe at him with its claws.
It is the intellect devourer and mind flayer's turns!
Meanwhile, the mind flayer floats across the room toward the double-doors in the western wall and opens the doors without touching them. They look back, scowls at Ianric, and heads through the doors, closing them behind them with a thud.
"Well that is certainly different. Rather unnatural."Kassar opines as points of bright light one again erupt across his skin, as he focuses on the strange brain creature.
Bonus action: Starry Form Archer
Starry Form Attack: 9 Damage: 5
He follows this by conjuring a mote of fire in his palm, and hurling it at the same creature.

(Sorry for the wait. IRL doing its thing.)
Cami reaches for something on her pocket that's not quite the crossbow she's most regularly using, even if the two are not different. Instead of being made of both wood and steel, this little canon is entirely metal, and its use is seen quite quickly as a line of fire leaves the end of the canon aiming between Ianric and Renaer towards the intellect devourer.
She then makes a move to get on the frontline so she can alleviate some of the job Ianric has been doing. She had a shield and armor, so it's only far she'd trust herself to handle a few hits. (Moving in front of Vyrax, as seen on the map.)
For Pocket's turn, the little owl will fly behind the Duergar for some provocation and distraction, helping the next one to attack them, and keeps going to check on Floon's situation up close. (Moving as seen on the map.)

The attack lands, but does not appear to damage the intellect devourer as much as it should."Damn, this thing is tough!"
It is now Renaer's turn!
Renaer flourishes his rapier and makes two attacks, one at the brain creature and the other a non-lethal strike at the thug before him.
Attack: 24 Damage: 11
Attack: 16 Damage: 6
... And he successfuly skewers the brain creature, then smacks the pommel of his rapier against the side of the thug's head, disorienting him but not knocking him out outright. The brain creature writhes on the ground but it is not dead yet!

Renaer, similarly, readies an action to attack anyone that comes through the wall.
Back to the top, it is Topaz's turn!
From behind cover, Topaz peeks into the room, then whispers to the others: “Take the wounded one down, then force a surrender from the other?”
He readies his shortbow as well, ready to fire if signaled to (or if they start to come through the wall)
It is the enemies' turn!
You hear voices from behind the illusory wall.
"Damned sneaks, why I oughta... What? What in Laduguer's name is this wall doin'..." Mutters the duergar.

Topaz keeps his bow ready as he runs after them, ready to take down the wounded one once they get within arrow range.

It is Topaz's turn!
Topaz ducks behind the wall, readying a shot before peeking into the room and firing at the half-orc on top of Floon.
Stealth Check (Pass w/o Trace is Still Up): 29
Shortbow attack on half-orc: Attack: 25 Damage: 8 piercing damage
His eyes go wide as he ducks behind the wall again (enough for full cover). "The hell is that thing?!"
Before the half-orc can even make a move against all of you, Topaz skewers him with an arrow through his gullet. He falls to the ground, dead.
It is the enemies' turn!
The duergar and the thug charge at Ianric and Renaer, engaging them in combat.
Duergar vs Ianric Attack: 20 Damage: 7
Thug vs Renaer Attack: 22 Damage: 3
Ianric weathers a gnarly strike from the wounded duergar, while Renaer parries the thug's blow with the ease of a well-trained duelist.
It is now Vyrax's turn!

The twin flames scorch the wretched brain creature, but it is still standing!
It is now Bearhug Ianric's turn!
(Sorry again for the delay - unfortunately Ianric is dropping the game. I'll post his turn, then we can continue!.)
Ianric looks down at the brain monster and grins. "Time to make the brain go splat!" He says as he takes a mighty swing with his morningstar.
