Between Kazrac's rush forward and Thalza's blades you manage to bring the monstrosity down. As it quiets down, Morgid steps out from behind the tree he took cover from. "Awful creatures those snakes. Must have been hungry, normally they don't like to attack groups. On to the boneyard then?"
"I have the capability of improving the health of those who are injured. I can not do it often, but if we plan on resting later, I can it for you now if you would like?" Thalza says as she considers the options. She restheathes her swords as she moves towards Wolfgang.
Borbin wipes the mud and moss off his vest and picks up a few arrows that spilled out of his quiver when he leaped away from the snake. He looks down at the raw, but not bleeding, gashes on his arm. "Thanks for that back there, Wolfgang. Awful selfless of you." He extends a pudgy hand out to shake with the Hobgoblin.
"A little shuteye sounds good, right about now. I never thought going to a pile of bones would sound so nice."
Taking Borbin’s hand giving the small gnome great respect “No thanks needed, we are comrades now; I will give my life for each of you. At least until we finish this mission. Such is the way of the mercenary life.”
As Thalia offers aid, Wolfgang says with a slight smile “If you could help with the healing, that would help great appreciated Thalza.”
Wiping the blood from his longsword, Kazrac checks the position of the sun from the horizon. (How hours of daylight do we have left?)
(If it is more than four hours) "We should take a short rest while we can. Lick our wounds, eat, drink, and rest. We do not know what other monsters lurk in this swamp and it would be best for us to regain our strength. No fire. We don't want to draw any more attention to us." He then looks at the snake carcass. "Thalza and Morgid, if you would help me move this beast to create a circular barrier for us to rest in. Its musk should help scare off lesser predators. Borbin if you can help see to Wolfgang's wounds and after Thalza finishes helping me, see if she can provide aid. I'm not much of a healer outside of field-dressings. Wolfgang, your gods truly smile on you today! I was afraid we had lost you after that snake tried to take a bite out of you! Take care and rest comrade. I will keep watch."
She then moves to help Kazeac with the giant snake to place it so that it encircles the group.
(I agree if there is quite a bit of daylight left, then we could take a short rest, if not, then move onwards depending on how Wolfgang feels after the cure)
"I wouldn't mind wrapping my arm and eating a little food, but I'll be fine to push on as well." Borbin looks up to the sky to gauge the time. If it looks like they'll make it before dark with a short rest, he'll happily take a short rest (8/13 hp).
Thalza will also clamber up into a tree, but will perch herself close to a spot where she can keep watch for anything the may lurk below them, or that may be in the direction they are heading.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Borbin stands waist deep in mud at the bottom of a tree and looks up... "Uh, any chance someone could toss me a rope?"
Once he clambers up with someone's assistance Borbin will start wrapping his wounds with some mostly clean cloth strip. Then he'll take out a sandwich he packed and start eating. (Rolling both hit dice, just in case)
Kazrac begins removing the fangs from the huge snake with his handaxe and dagger as everyone is finding a resting spot in the trees. Afterward, he climbs up a tree close by Borbin and Wolfgang.
He presents a large fang each to Borbin and Wolfgang. "Here." he says grinning, "These are your trophies. Proof of your prowesses in facing such a monstrous foe and returning to tell the tale."
With Thalza keeping watch, Kazrac will use Arcane Recovery toregain one spell slot over the course of an hour. Then he will help her keep watch while taking an occasional drink from his waterskin.
After your uneventful rest, you begin heading back down into the swamp towards the boneyard. The fog parts ahead to reveal the skulls and bones of giant beasts rising from the marsh like a collection of morbid monuments. As you draw nearer, you spy three horizonback tortoise skulls beneath the shadow of a gargantuan rib cage at the center of this sullen boneyard.
Kazrac watches Wolfgang break free and the giant snake take a bite out of Borbin. Kazrac continues his assault with his longsword.
"For the Legion!!!" Attack: 22 Damage: 12
After his attack, Kazrac will try to draw the snake's attention by banging his sword and shield once more. [Free Action if possible]
Animal Handling: 3 "Come at me worm!!!"
Seeing Kazrac continue to assault the snake, Thalza will do the same unwilling to leave a man to face such a beast alone.
She will take 2 more short sword attacks at the giant snake.
Attack 1: Attack: 9 Damage: 9
Attack 2: Attack: 20 Damage: 4

“Yeah perhaps there we can rest, cause I definitely need it.” Wolfgang mentions to the group as he begins moving. “That snake got me good..”

(Are we taking a short rest?)

Getting the proper healing Wolfgang helps the group. “If you wish to rest here, then I am fine with that.”
[I am good for the short rest, I’m at 12/19 so a short rest will help get me to max.]

(Yeah there is at least 6 hours left in the day.)
Morgid shakes his head. "I wouldn't rest in the water. Drier in the trees." He quickly scampers up a tree and settles in on a large branch.
Wolfgang sighs doing his best to climb up a tree and resting for an hr.

Wolfgang, you see signs of habitation but can't see anyone there.
