Neph, as you approach the stairs at AREA 12, two acolytes emerge from there, coming up. They look battered and bruised, and they stumble towards you.
"The crypt, the dead that dwell there..they have always protected our cathedral. They have been turned, made to rise up against us! Can the gods have forsaken us?" The other acolyte tries to calm down his brother, speaking in hushed tones. "We became separated from High Priest Juriendor. He pushed ahead, searching for the Moonshard. We were..set upon by the dead of the crypt and now I fear we may never see Juriendor alive again - he disappeared into the darkness. Please, go in search of him! Our magic is spent and all we can do now is pray to our god to save us all from this evil!"
Outside, battle rages against the undead. The village guards seem prepared, forming a circle around the cathedral, but now skeletons have appeared to bolster the attack and occasionally slip through the gaps - they begin to enter the cathedral. The acolyte continues, "My friends, go to Juriendor's aid below. We have our maces and have trained in hand-to-hand combat. There are just a couple of undead here, but many more in the crypt below! Please, hurry!"
Doc, who had been helping the guard with the undead who had returned outside, noticed the first of the squad members return to the main chamber. "Oh you're all okay!" Doc exclaimed before overhearing one of the priest share the chapel's newest worry. Seeing that guard - for the time being at least - had the situation handled, Doc followed along with the others towards the basement.
Arora runs down the stairs to 12, as she arrives at the bottom of the steps, she slows and draws her rapiers being ready for whatever may be around the next corner. As she moves along the hall to 13 the creaky wooden floor groans under the weight of the group.
“Surprise is best” she suggests to those in front as they approach the door to 13.

The group stacks up outside the door to room 13, and bursts in with a sudden fury, surprising anyone/anything inside. Likewise, they’ll do the same thing with rooms 13, 14, 15, and finally 16.
"You are right, I need to focus. I'm not a doomguide." Raza replies, acknowledging the spirits and slows her decent down the stairs, reining in her need to rush in and destroy the undead creatures below.
