Neya puts her bow away and takes her longsword in both hands. She sees a small amount of shadow on the wall near the shore (CZ-6). Using this window she teleports (bonus action: shadow step) herself there, closes the distance to the monster (CX-9), and strikes.
Longsword Attack: 20 Damage: 10
Extra Longsword Attack: 11 Damage: 10

Focused Aim:
When you miss with an attack roll, you can spend 1-3 ki points to increase your attack roll by 2 for each of these ki points you spend, potentially turning the miss into a hit.
(@Drache: Because you are attempting to teleport to a spot that is more than 60 feet away --hypotenuse comes into play-- I'll assume that Neya flies toward her destination first and then teleports to the exact location she had in mind. The Flying bit is just movement, so it shouldn't intefere with the rest of your turn.)
With the help of her cloak, Neya glides toward the "beach" but completes her landing by teleporting. From there, she runs toward the enemy with blade in hand and swipes at it twice. Only the first strike draws blood, at first, but the addition of the monk's internal power to the second strike adds a delayed cut to the beast. (Four-headed Monstrosity takes 20 slashing damage.)
Graxx doesn't want to see another of his friends struck by lightning, so he deals with it the best way he knows how: trying to kill the creature before it gets another chance. The barbarian moves to a dryer spot and swings.
Another two heads come in just in time to be decapitated. (Two-headed Monstrosity takes 60 magical slashing and radiant damage.)
With only two heads left and four headless necks, the creature is no longer able to keep itself up. It slumps onto the beach, dead. (Two-headed Monstrosity is DEFEATED.)
WE ARE NOW OUT OF INITIATIVE. YOU MAY DO AS YOU WILL.
(OOC: Doozey's and Utar's turns never materialized, so you may keep your spell slot/ammo.)
Graxx keeps his axe in case another horror lurks in the deep as he moves over to Utar.
"Do you need healing? I cannot do much but I can do a little bit." asks Graxx.
Graxx breathing starts to slow as he looks over to Doozey and Neya.
"Do you reckon that was the only one? I wonder if the Islanders brought it here with their little pact."
Graxx slowly walks over to the waters edge.
"So you said ol' Derranos was dead. I guess we were too late." says Graxx.
Graxx puts his hand to his chin and his forehead wrinkles.
"I fear for the girl but if my memory of the Dragon serves me right it wasn't the kindest to us when we were here. Just for the chance to see the girl Derranos made us give up many items. Neya's helm that allowed her to understand languages. One of my first trusty blades, Lightbringer and Doozey you had to give up your statuettes. That just didn't sit right with me." says Graxx.
Graxx looks to the others.
"Do you think our offerings are still here?" says Graxx.
Graxx eyes light up as he suddenly has a memory.
"Eli had a goat and my magic die! Check the bodies, a goat should be easy to find. If we can't find a goat then chances are the goat went back with Eli alive!."
The shock in the stoutling might've lasted for far longer than the rest. And after his mind struggled to fight past the confusion and surprise, Boozey soon found himself questioning aloud, "D-...Derannos?" Before he could come to turns and either explore dismiss the strange web of thoughts to come to mind, the creature lied dead in the water.
(@Lerus: Understood about the turns good sir! Slight editification incoming!)
Startled out of his thoughts when questioned, it took Doozey yet a few moments more, before shaking his head. "That... that Pact was broken when we opened that scroll, if I remember right. But even if not, I'm... not sure. I didn't... see... I-I'm not so sure of anything anymore." He finally admits. "But, I doubt the beast was the Islanders doing. Otherwise, they might not have lost so many in their ill advised assault." An offhanded sweep of clawed hands goes to the bodies still roting nearby.
Though the stoutling had more to say, seeing Graxx otherwise distracted by the investigation, Boozey turned to Utar and Neya. "I think I found Derranos hoard beneath the water. But, I'll need the bag of holding to go there and start collecting. As... as well as seeing if I can confirm if that other body was 'his' or not. >Before< I do though. Utar! I do have some bandages, salves, and a pick me up drink that aughta help set you right. But if you don't need it, so be it." He said, though the offering comes out with a bit of an edge to Boozey's voice. Although with Utar's passive insight alone however, the bite to Doozey's words had not been intended, and seemed more a byproduct of the transformation and adrenaline still pumping in the Werebadger's system.
A similar offer is extended Graxx as well. But come what of them, he sees to his own injuries, retrieves the bag, and then dives down again to go do his own investigation/collecting.
Healer's Healing(if accepted): -> Utar for 18. -> Graxx for 14. -> Doozey for 18.
Utar grumbles at the role reversal, this time being the object in need of healing but accepts the offers in the spirit they were made.
"The islanders might have taken Elisande back to the island with them, those crones were keen to have her. Once we're done here I guess that's our next stop."
Thinking on the matter of the dead dragon Utar wonders his next thought aloud, "Do we think we could restore Derannos to life? I believe I may be able to call upon Torm's aid and Derannos may have the required components within his hoard... Doozey, what state was his body in when you took your swim?"
"Hm?... Hmn.... I won't, uh... sugar coat it. It's bad. But again, I'll need to go down there and have a better look. You're welcome to join me, but-..." Boozey walks up to Utar and flicks the abdomen plate armor. "Might be a difficult wearing all that. Certainly exhausting." He then looks about the immediate area for a moment, before simply shaking his head. "That said, should be safe enough here for a while at least. Given how aggressive that one was, I doubt it cares much for company." He assures. But following one last glance to the body, he looks about ready to add more, only to shake his head instead and head for the water, intending to swim ahead while Utar got ready.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
When you realize you're doing too much: Signature.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Utar spends some time removing his armour and leaves his belongings in a fairly neat pile. "We'll likely need a way to bring Derannos' body up as well, best get thinking in that little conundrum too."
Following Doozey's lead, he wades into the water before plunging below the surface.
(OOC Assume athletics (16) will be needed here maybe also some kind to check to see whether Derannos has a diamond of sufficient value within his hoard but not entirely sure what skill would be appropriate.)
”A dragons hoard! No telling what items are lurking below. We will need all the help we can get to defeat the Crones. Especially if they were able to defeat a Dragon!”
Graxx walks around searching the goat but does not have as a defensive posture taking ease in Doozey’s words that the threat should be eliminated.
"More importantly than items, we need to know what we are up against." Neya says as she hands the bag of holding to Doozey. "Do we have any inkling what sort of entities the crones are? Even speculation at this juncture would be a good start."
CRAP tries to come to terms with Utar's injuries, Derannos' and Elisande's fates, the possibility of an unclaimed treasure hoard, and the origin of the multi-headed monstrosity. Regarding the first item on that list, Boozey spends several minutes tending to the Tormite's wounds, as well as Graxx's and his own. (Utar recovers 18 HP, Graxx recovers 14 HP, Boozey recovers 18 HP.)
While the healing session is ongoing, there is plenty of time for the party to talk and decide next steps. Boozey mentions he might have spotted the dragon's hoard underwater and Utar wonders if they could use some of it to restore the Bronzen Wave Crest to life. Graxx daydreams of the new items they might find which could be put to use in their next fight, but Neya reminds the group that what they might need most is information.
Boozey then convinces a recovering Utar to lose the armor and follow him underwater, presumably bringing the Driftglobe along. Neya hands over the bag of holding to expedite the gathering task ahead. Meanwhile, Graxx looks above water for a goat. The barbarian's search yields no results.
Underwater, Boozey guides Utar to the same spot he found earlier. The additional light helps quite a bit in the deeper reaches of the lair where the water is less murky. With it, the duo has no trouble in identifying Deranno's body, which is now quite mangled and displaying almost none of the grandeur it had. The young bronze dragon is ripped apart in many places, and entrails have been spilled nearby. Plenty of blood has mixed in the water too.
Beneath the dead dragon, a respectful treasure pile can be found. That said, an adventurer who came looking for a legendary hoard would certainly be disappointed. Derannos was a young dragon after all, and there is no telling if anything has been taken by his murderers. Nonetheless, there are thousands of coins here of several denominations and origins, as well as gems, art pieces, valuable mundane items, and wondrous ones as well.
(OOC: An examination of Derannos' body will require a medicine check. Looking for anything specifically in the hoard, or trying to assess its gold-worth, requires an investigation check. You may also call out your own check if you want to do anything else like looking around for danger, touching items in search of magic traces, singing a bubbly rendition of 'Under the Sea'... it is up to you. At some point, the divers will need to go up for air.)
Knowing that his time spend underwater is likely to be limited Utar starts by looking over Derannos' body. Using the light of the driftglobe, Utar slowly gives the the remains the once over. The question of how to return the dragon's body to the surface plays slightly on his mind then a darker thought emerges: If the young dragon's remains have been disturbed significantly, it may not even be possible to return life to it, making this whole exercise pretty pointless and he may be better off switching his energy to avenging the dragon's untimely end instead.
Should Utar's judgement indicate that the spell may work as intended, he will spend any additional time underwater searching for a likely gem of sufficient value to consume during the spell. Should he find one, he will snatch it up. Otherwise, he will leave that to Doozey.
(OOC Utar has retained his amulet of health, dragonmask fragment and driftglobe. The rest of his belongings are on dry land. Also assume at some point Utar will need to make a check to see if he starts to drown, let me know if that is needed now or whether it might need to come about in my next post.)
Graxx throws his left free hand in the air as he holds his axe in his right.
"No goat!" announces Graxx.
Graxx walks back over to the water's edge.
"I believe the girl and the goat live. That buys us time to recover what is here."
Graxx looks curiously at Neya as he waits for Utar and Doozey to resurface.
"I don't know what those crones could be. Wizards of some type for sure as they summoned those creatures and brewed those stews out of our horses. Hmmm...Neya... There is no telling what that Dragon had underwater. If you could think up any type of wizard magic item that you could have. What would it be? What are you hoping Doozey and Utar come back up with?" asks Graxx.
Confirming beyond a doubt Derranos' departure from the material plane... it hurt in more ways than one. But after clawing at his chest absently for a moment, Boozey pushed down all emotions in favor of seeing his original task to its completion. There was no doubt in his mind that it would take several minutes or perhaps even an hour to be thorough enough. So, Boozey would pace himself, surfacing only to get back lungs full of air as necessary, before diving down once more to collect as many coins, gems, and whatever mundane or wondrous items might yet fit through the entryway of the bag. As for the larger pieces, those he would eventually see about wrangling Graxx, Utar, and Neya into acquiring into retrieving if/when the time came for it.
Until then, the majority of his focus remained on the collection, and trusting Utar to see to the body with the aid of others.
(If necessary to be thorough about collecting as many gems, coins as possible, here's a perception check. If investigation would however be more appropriate, knock of 8 from the roll below)
"Not entirely sure what Derannos had outside of what we gave him. But, as I said before, he was a younger dragon and did not have much time to accrue much." Neya says. "I honestly wouldn't know what we could get to improve our chances if one exists in there. I could shut down their magic by silencing them, and we have quite a number of magical weapons and abilities that are already hard to resist."
@Utar: Who's to say what proper dragon anatomy is like? Most of what you can see is quite lacerated. There are some organs in there you have never seen in another being, while other important ones seem to be missing. You certainly don't see a heart, for instance. If you had to guess, the damage sustained by this corpse is severe enough for attempted resurrections to fail on the spot. This thought discourages you from spending extra time underwater looking for diamonds of specific sizes, cuts, or value. You grab some of the largest pieces of treasure as to give Boozey a hand and then swim back up before you run out of air.
@Boozey: The task ahead of you is a considerable one. The bag of holding certainly helps but, even then, you figure you'll need several trips. With enough time on your hands, however, you'll sooner or later manage to bring everything back up onto land. While working on treasure transportation, your keen eyes spot a few more corpses underwater, as well as pieces of shipwrecks.
As Doozey continues to work on bringing treasure onto dry land, Graxx and Neya occupy their time by talking about strategies for the upcoming confrontation and by accounting, organizing, and examining the treasure. Doozey has to dump them out of the bag of holding so he can go back underwater for more, so the human pair might as well begin cataloguing (items that were previously in the bag of holding are not dumped out.) Utar continues to dive back in to assist the ranger with his globe of light and by bringing the larger items back up by hand. Soon, the group realizes that this effort will take several hours, which would lead them into the evening since they arrived here in the afternoon.
Anyhow, here's the hoard. (OOC: I used Fizban's guidelines for dragon hoard building.)
COINS
5,600 copper pieces
16,000 silver pieces
4,400 gold pieces
250 platinum pieces
MUNDANE ITEMS
Two hourglasses filled with sparkling sand
A battle standard
A small shrine with a statuette, a brazier, and an altar dedicated to an unknown god
A jar with a dead illithid tadpole floating in preserving chemicals

After checking on Derannos, Utar surfaces and wades to the shore. Looking to his companions, he delivers the bad news.
"That thing has done a pretty good job of chewing up Derannos, I'm afraid. I'm no expert, but I doubt that Torm would be able to aid in returning Derannos' spirit to his body."
Pausing for a moment on the shore to hear responses, Utar then turns and wades back into the water.
Utar slowly becomes used to the water and the journeys to and from Derannos' hoard. The repetition and drudgery of the trips leave him feeling as though he has accomplished something, especially as the underwater hoard slowly becomes an above water hoard. Seeing Derannos' body becomes no easier however; the corpse still looks at him in an accusatory manner and Utar feels his shame burning his skin even in the cool air and cold water of the cave.
Upon surfacing a little later, Utar will look to his companions and suggest that they use Derannos' cave to overnight before they inevitably head onto the island tomorrow to confront the crone and de folk.
(OOC If Utar gets the opportunity later on he will attempt to identify the unknown deity - religion - 9)

(@Lerus: As an adventure that sought a Dragon's horde, let it not be said that Doozey wasn't still impressed. Cause Holy Mackarolly! That's a monies!)
As the enormity of the task truly began to sink into Boozey's mind, the stoutling was given pause as other outside pressures tried to use the opening to burn away at his will. But dutifully, he pushed past the distractions and soon returned to work for at least the next few minutes or so, completing the first round of gathering, before returning to the surface.
"There's quite a lot more there. A few bodies and... shipwreck pieces too. Not sure if they aren't worth investigating, but... we're gonna be here for quite a while getting it all out.." He express plainly. "I... I need to speak with Mr. Sagin for a bit. Break the news 'n all that. Utar can direct you to the horde in the meantime. But, I shant be long." With that, at least for the moment, Doozey handed off the bag of holding so that the others keep up the good work in his absence.
Sometime later, Boozey had reverted to Doozey at some point in his trip back outside the lair as to avoid frightening the poor kobold. And though it might not have been necessary, Taters is still called for to assist in "finding" Sagin, assuming nothing sinister awaited the halfling that might disrupt things a tad. "'ey, Mr. Sagin. I... well... I'm not one to sugarcoat things, so here goes. Derannos, the Bronzen Wave Crest of the Stormy Bay and... the dragon we intended to have you speak with so that you may, if you still wished to at the time, pledge your service to... had died in valiant battle against a group of treacherous islanders from nearby." He said formally except towards the end, in which he couldn't help but practically vehemently spit out the perpetrators designation.
"... There is much planning to be done to make them answer for this -- A they will most certainly 'answer' for this, of that you have my word... but, it does not change the fact that I failed to keep my promise. For that, I can only apologize." Doozey than in a rare act of vulnerability to a still potential foe, bowed his head to Sagin. "Apologize, but make another offering as well. One that I cannot fail, and that would be of benefit to you, if you are willing to accept it." He said, and would wait with baited breath for an answer.
Persuasion: 16. (if necessary. And if at advantage for.. reasons(?): 2.)
If rejected outright, and Sagin means to leave, Doozey does not stop him. But rather, he called out, "If you ever wish to change your mind, then seek us *insert location of future home base*there. Or if a might be a bit troubling to do in the city, head to the graveyard and ask for Brother Yovir. Ask him politely to reach out to us, and we will try to meet once more." Even if things were to turn violent, Doozey in a rare act of mercy, would aim more to temporarily disarm Sagin, before giving him the choice to leave... still with the above offered made.
HOWEVER, If no answer is forthcoming, or if a favorable one is given, Doozey then raised his head again with a weak, awkward smile. "It will be dangerous of course. But, if your willing to stick it out with us, not only will you be given a share of his hoard as repayment for seeking revenge on Lord Derranos' behalf; but also, I will do everything within my power to train you into something more than just a miner or an uncertain follower. You would instead become something of... well, a great ranger, perahaps. Or even an accomplished spellweaver in time that can improve not only your lot, but the lot of your people... Preferably for the greater good of course." He smirks a little at that. "Or, if you would just to prefer live humbly, well... I'm sure we can come to arrangements there after we tie up this 'other' loose end. The choice is yours, Mr. Sagin."
Once matters with Sagin are settled one way or another, Doozey intended to return to finish the horde collecting/cataloguing, leaving Taters to stay on watch outside the pond in secret. And if Sagin in tow, if the Kobold was more willing to do so now that the major danger had been apparently dealt with.

Perception: 21.

(OOC: Does anyone want to formalize any interactions with Sagin, as suggested in the OOC Chat?)
But rather, he called out, "If you ever wish to change your mind, then seek us *insert location of future home base* there.

(OOC: First Dragon Hoard is everything I hoped it would be.
Graxx shakes his head but is not that hurt at the news of Derannos's fate
"Dang shame that is..." says Graxx.
Graxx inspects the items that are brought up and the coin.
"We got some good stuff here folks. Some stuff will definitely come in handy in the coming battle. Specifically the coin."
Graxx picks up a copper piece.
"We're going to need hire us a boat if we're going to the isle. Maybe some horses. Maybe some hired hands to take on a whole island on our own."
Graxx scratches his chin.
"Maybe... Maybe I can buy a few warrior's freedoms." says Graxx.
