Thavriol blocks the creatures claw with his shield, his rapier striking out rapidly as his eyes adjust to the lack of light, slipping automatically into Darkvision. Again, he calls out Fire of Tyr.
Attack: 12 Damage: 8
ooc: can you describe the scene some, so I can get an idea of the layout, who's where?
Thavriol, Samael and Perigord stand near the tunnel you all had just travelled down, now standing near the wall of this 50ft wide space. The five creatures all stand near you, slashing at you with their claws or trying to destroy the light. Nolla has ducked away from them all and now stands in the middle of the room, short bow at the ready for her next shot. Several dark tunnels branch off from this space.
As the creature hits Samael, and he goes to cast his poison spray at the creature, he feels his body seize up as he becomes [Tooltip Not Found]. (You are paralysed for 1 minute, but can make another Con Save DC 11 to end your turns and see if you can shake it off. So make another Con Save DC 11 for Samael to replace your attempted action above as the first Con Save was directly after the hit.)
Thavriol's rapier is batted away by a large pincer and the creature rattles its mandibles at you with a hissing and chittering growl.
(OOC - you are correct @Murfle, if you were hit the light was doused. Damn though, a 16 didn't hit haha)
Perigord's stabs miss the small creatures as they nimbly flit out of the way.
Seeing one of their own fall to your group, the creatures scatter, disengaging from whoever they are in combat with and skittering to one of the many nearby tunnels and crevices away from the light. As they disappear into the shadow, you hear a brief sound, like a whoosh or similar, and then silence falls in the space once again.
"Seems like they can be killed." Nolla says with some relief at seeing the one she shot go down. She is not all-together unhappy the othres fled though. "Everyone ok?" She asks out loud, turning to her companions. Seeing one of them frozen in place she would nod to them. "Can anyone aid him?" She asks, stepping over. She has nothing she can do though, so simply stands keeping watch as others act.
Thavriol walks over to Samael, examining the wound, sniffing it. "It's a paralysis poison, as I'm sure you figured out. I could neutralize it but don't want to since it'll wear off in less than a minute anyway and I've only got a limited amount of healing. But I'll stay right here and, if we're attacked again before it wears off, I'll take care of it."
"I vote for a short rest here or somewhere nearby that's safe. I'm ******, paralyzed, and was rendered useless for the whole fight." once his head is free to move he turns and glares at the one who started the mess. "Thanks, nolla!"
"Those creatures may have given us a fright, but we must remember we are trespassers here. Hopefully we can make amends, but we should at least try to be friendly and understanding when we encounter them again. Let's not borrow trouble."

On his turn, Perigord holds the lantern higher to shine more light, and takes a dodge action to try and protect the lantern.
(OOC - sorry. No disadvantage as they already had disadvantage on their attacks.)
This time, the creature attacking Nolla previously now focuses its attention to the lantern, as do the two originally attacking Perigord's lantern.

The light is still up, assuming Spielt meant if I was hit the light went out.

Nolla's shot takes down the creature with her arrows already in it and it falls to the ground in a horrible shriek.
