"Let me take a look at the stone that you have been holding, wouldn't you? I don't know why Tyreus would leave the place in such a horrific condition. Men! They will hanker after trivial material possession like treasure, but completely forget that there's something more important than these. What do you say?"
She extends her hand to slightly pat on Morwena's shoulder to express empathy and offers to prepare a soup out of recently collected materials for her since it might be emotionally comfortable.
"Can you copy these spells to a new scroll so that we may cast them later?"
<Forgot to address this bit. Ignore the usual time and material costs associated and assume it is done. She is very willing to do so, as long as you don't try to touch the rock. She finishes in a couple of minutes.>
She is very defensive when Marlyth mentions the rock, her posture stiffening noticeably, her face becoming more severe. Marlyth still finds Morwena's overall character inscrutable.
"Dev? I... I don't understand... you're dead! How can you be here?"Tabaqui is shocked. Turning to the other figure, "You! I saw you die with my own eyes! I killed you myself, you monster. What sort of trickery is this?"
Slowly, he backs away from both figures, not understanding, and fearful.
"Here, you can say what you never got the chance to say back home when we saw each other last." Dev calls to Tabaqui as he walks off. "Any regrets?" add Gomez, as he rubs the edge of his blade with his thumb, admiring its sharpness.
If anybody wants to check out sny of the rooms you haven't seen in the house, just call one out. {Nobody's been to 7}. or just wait for Tabaqui's thing to play out. Or go and join him, or follow the other tracks. Whatever the case, we're just roleplaying to the end of the chapter.
Edit: unless you decide to fight something
<Heads up: I said I would run this campaign as close to the written adventure as possible, but the next bit is extremely vague on how many creatures are actually there, so that should be interesting...>
Tabaqui stops and stands still. "Dev... Dev, I'm sorry I wasn't there to protect you. I'm sorry they went after you instead of me. I miss you every day."
Then, glaring at Gomez, "I don't know who or what you really are, but I would advise you to lose that face real quick. That face belongs in hell. I sent it there once, and I will do it again."
Marlyth finds Sylvene's study. A few floor-to-ceiling bookcases complement the deep desk, plush couches, and leather chairs here to create a cozy reading area. The effect is undermined by loose papers scattered about and books stacked haphazardly on the floor and furniture. Someone was looking for something.
Though one might expect diaries and spellbooks in this room, therearebone to be found. A first-edition, pristine copy of a book called simply Mythologies can be found here, worth 200 gp.
Calner opens the door to find a xozy bedroom. The centerpiece of this room is a bare, four-post bed set at an angle relative to the walls. A hulking fireplacen nearbystands cold and clean. A wooden, covered cradle stands in the northwest corner of the room, where it could be warmed by the fireplace in days past.
A large chest holds sheets and blankets for the bed and the cradle. A quilt still folded neatly inthe cradle bears the name Tyberio in ornate, stitched letters.
The creature appearing tonTsbswui as Gomez vanishes at the threat. Dev responds on his behalf: "The last visitor we had wastes no time laying low another keeper who wore a face he did not like. Hiw a sonbwould donthat to his father... We have seen too much bloodshed."
"Tyberio... Tyberio... could this be Tyberius' crib? Was Sylvene his mother?"
Calner wonders if it can be more than a coincidence.

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Tabaqui, still unnerved at standing face-to-face with his dead friend, says, "Listen, Dev, or whatever your name really is, you need to understand that invading someone's memories and dredging up old wounds is a provocation, an aggressive act. You should not be surprised if someone reacts violently.
"What do you know of this island, and the wizard who created it? Are you familiar with someone named Morwena? Can she be trusted?"
We usagt see your kind only as kemories, and can manifest to you only in forms we see from your eyes. Indeed the forms we take are our very character. For we, as you, are defined by our memories of the past by our interactions with others.
This Morwena came here with a man named Tyreus. Seero took a form known to the man, and he was killed for it. The form he took was thatof Sylvene's son, though much older than the last time I had seen him. Just before the young Tyreus ended Seero, he yelled something about "my father's face". It was strange seeing them together here. They both have Sylvene's eyes. I think this Tyreus is Sylvene's grandson.
He left that shadow beast here to keep Morwena from leaving. We may well have sent her on her way, as Sylvene is not likely ro return, but we have no faith that she would help us be rid of that beast. I have seen into her past, and I do not know what she will do. I know that she feels betrayed, hurt, angry. These feelings often motivate unwelcome actions. Thus, we keep her here and have called out for help through the power of the stone. Morwena and the shadow play at capturing the stone, yet we have no idea which will best the other.
We hope to live out our days here, sadly sans Seero. But we need to know we can trust those who come here before we allow them free passage.
This was Sylvene's will."
<Sorry for all the typos. Since there's only one PC interacting with the loremonger of this chapter I've got tons of exposition to crank out without trying to just quote an encyclopedia at you. Main points: Tyreus is the one who left the shadow here. He and Morwena had a falling out. the guardians are usagt, creatures from another (unnamed) plane. They can straight up cast plane shift and make it permanent. Seero is the name of the one that took the form of Sylvene's son Tiberio, at which point Tyreus killed Seero. It would help if someone had any conclusive questions or comments, otherwise this chapter just abruptly ends.>
Marlyth will pick up the loose papers scattered throughout the room, and the haphazardly placed book to tidy up the place."Tyreus has serious anger issue."
Then she will join Calner and inspect the cradle of 'Tyberio', after the brief inspection she will express her assumption that Sylvene, Tyberio and Tyreus could be related. She certainly wants to investigate what happened to Sylvene.
"Marlyth, wehave Sylvene's book and key already but there may be other items here that belonged to her, certainly some of the her personal journals and diaries that would contain more info."
Calner will go back to the library and search through the papers, books, and scrolls for anything mentioning Sylvene.

These are curiously absent. it is as if someone had searched hurriedky but effectively for them, removing them since the last time Sylvene was here.
Weneon is just swimming
Marlyth attempts to figure out if Morwena is speaking the truth or trying to hide something.
