"My apologies sir for having assumed something I should not have," Evrik replies as he holds out his open hand to Salman in an offering of peace, "forgive my utterance, and you will hear it no more. It seems perhaps you and I have more in common than not. Those days haunt me still." Evrik looks down at the ground with a frown. "I failed a friend in that dark world," he says as he looks back and pats Salman on the shoulder. "I don't want to fail another."
Evrik grips his hammer tightly as Vur continues seeking a response. "This place, it feels darker than even I imagined." He looks over at the newest addition. "Jingles eh? Well, I'm not sure about the maidens tastes, but I've heard halflings could be quite nimble, and I'm sure that could come in handy." Evrik waves a hand down across his stout build. "Not my forte you understand," he says with a bit of a chuckle.

"Salman understand please that in my order we do not enjoy the places we go, but enjoy riding the world of beasts and monsters who pray on the weak. With or with out a mind I refuse to allow them to do what they did to me, and my mother." Vur scratches at his ear, then quickly jerks his hand back and tucks his sharper than normal tusks into his lips, then snifs the air again trying to see what is ahead. 16 (Not sure if you would take nature +2 or the advantage roll of perception5.)
(DM) Some of you need to finish building your character. Also, I need people to start posting. It doesn't have to be epic, just something to let me know that you're still interested. If I don't see a any posts from a player for 2 weeks their character will be removed from the game. I hate to be that guy, but a lot of people want to play. So, It's post or go.
The foul scent leads you to a human corpse half buried in the underbrush about twenty feet from the road. The young man appears to be a commoner. His muddy clothes are torn and raked with claw marks. Crows have been at the body, which is surrounded by paw prints. The man has obviously been dead for several days. He holds a crumpled envelope in one hand.
Jingles will delicately remove the crumpled envelope from the corpse’s hand.
”I has a feeling that we are all to be tested in this place. Not just for our skills and courage but, perhaps most importantly, in how we forge a strong fellowship, one that takes not into account ‘what’ we rather in how we forge ourselves toward a single purpose. Surviving what awaits us in this place.”
As he speaks, Jingles carefully examines the envelope.

Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
Salman moves his nose under the mask. He walks into the wood as if following an invisible thread. It doesn't take long for him to find the half buried corpse.

" If you are right. This boy didn't have a chance. He didn't have a friend in the first place. Poor lad. This is the reason, I don't recommend you people to travel to the forest alone at night. " The ranger kneels beside the body and inspects it. " It looks like an earth mound that wild beasts make to preserve their food. The owner wouldn't be far away. And it knows the taste of man flesh… "
Survival to find who buried the young man, how much time has passed. 12
Gideon stands back a bit from the body, his eyes scanning the groups surroundings. How many new creatures would walk out of the forest to join them?! He thought to himself.
His hand clenched around his sword hilt, prepared to draw if necessary. Not every creature who lurked in the woods was going to be so friendly, and while the majority of the party was occupied with the body, he didn't want too be caught unawares.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Evrik kneels down beside the body and examines the claw marks on the young man and then the paw prints around the area trying to determine what type of creature may have done such a thing. (Nature: 6)
Standing he looks around. "I'm not sure of this boys customs, but I do not like just leaving the body to the elements. A pyre may not be the best thing right now, would anyone assist me with a burial?" And once asked, Evrik makes a few motions with his hand over the body as he prays semi-silently to his gods.

After a few minutes examining the corpse , and the ground around the poor soul it becomes apparent to those of you versed in the ways of the wild what killed the man. Wolves.
Those of you standing guard sense that the Party is being watched, but the thickness of the mist makes it difficult to identify who, or what. Now and then you catch a glimpse of shadows moving among the trees in the distance.
I, the Burgomaster of Barovia, send you honor—with despair.
My adopted daughter, the fair Ireena Kolyana, has been these past nights bitten by a vampyr. For over four hundred years, this creature has drained the life blood of my people. Now, my dear Ireena languishes and dies from an unholy wound caused by this vile beast. He has become too powerful to conquer.
So I say to you, give us up for dead and encircle this land with the symbols of good. Let holy men call upon their power that the devil may be contained within the walls of weeping Barovia. Leave our sorrows to our graves, and save the world from this evil fate of ours.
There is much wealth entrapped in this community. Return for your reward after we are all departed for a better life.
"…What the halfling says makes sense " Salman stands up and wipes his hand with cloak. "If you want to bury the boy, you must bury deep. Otherwise the beast will dig him up soon. Also moving this corpse means you challenge the ownership of the beast. That's what they hate most. Now tell me, do you still want to give him a proper burial? "
(OOC: If Evrik says yes, Salman will help him to bury the young man)
Off in the distance you hear the howl of a lone wolf. Moments later it is joined by another, then another. Then another. Then another. With each new howl the wolves seem to be drawing closer.
The older fighter shifts at the howl of the wolves. "Faex," he swears softly in Draconic; a longsword is not an ideal weapon against a wolf. Nor, did he think, that these were just normal wolves.
"We should move on. Try to find some cover." He says to the others.
" Let's forget about the burial! Our opponent accepted the challenge. It's time for killing! " Salmon raises his crossbow.
@All
"We can't outrun the wolves. " He calls to the others. "If there's nowhere to hide, then make a circle like cattles when they are attacked by the beast! Wolves' basic tactic is using half of their pack as bait then ambush with the other half. Cover your back and don't let them attack from behind! "
(OOC: DM should we roll initiative?

While the letter is being read Vur accidentally let's out a growl while reading about vampires.
