Amadi is the fast to alert his companions about the presence of the Guard. The entire group, save from Gabriel, decides to move away discretely, trying to avoid attention. While doing so Sweeps voice his more than reasonable estrangement while together with Brightflame, Sunny and Chewy focus their attention on the armored men. They move in a single line, each one looking in a different direction at a different time. The conclusion is obvious, they are searching their surroundings. One of the three suddenly stops his walk and turn on his heels.
His companions are fast to catch his change in direction and now the three of them face the party’s direction. Sylvio have merged into the crowd and is sure on his silence that no one, not even his allies, could find him. Sadly, he was also sure that his allies were less than successful, and everything indicated they were found. A notion that was not lost on the follower of Gond, the Barbarian or the Ranger.
Sunny, you are fast to understand that Chewy is specially alert. The sheer focus of your companions on this trio of men at arms tells you for sure that no one else is watching your team. For the better or the worse, on that moment you could be sure that they and they alone are giving you special attention.
The question of what to do next comes easy to your minds. Should you run away? Stealth seemed to fail already and the streets were so packed that it would be hard to move fast.Should you fight them? If you fail to defeat them fast they would just call for help and every men at arms on the area would soon be upon you. What about talking with them? Yeah, like that would do any good.
Notes: One of the guards notice the party, safe from Sylvio who seems to have disappeared. The armored men move towards you and your allies, they are sixty feet away and getting closer. What do you do? As always, if there is any question feel free to ask on the OOC.
Sunny leans down quick to Chewy's ear muttering a couple commands in her own language, which sounds more like she has some gravel in her throat than words, but he seems to get the idea and runs playfully at the group of guards heading for them. The nods to the others that now's the time to make their escape, without it looking like an escape...
Chewy's bounding towards the guards as if its happy to see one of them but not focusing on any one in particular so they my may each think it's another. With any hostility from them, he'll look abashed and redirect around and past as if he were always heading for another target. Evading contact as much as possible and will not attack them.
As Chewy bounds toward the guards, Sweeps pulls the others “Come along. Quickly, but do not run. To the temple, if we can get there ahead of the guard, perhaps we can find shelter and rest.” He spares one look over his shoulder to see if they are gaining a lead. “This is not right, they should not be here. Nothing good can come out of this.”
Amadi nods in agreement with Sweeps. He grabs Gabriel and tries to move him along before he can cast his spell. "Do not, whether they are true guard or not we cannot openly attack them in the streets we will face judgement before it is sorted out. Violence in the streets of Waterdeep is not tolerated. We need to get to the temple of Gond."
Sunny follows Sweeps' lead and follow after the others. Chewy knows to find them once the ruse is complete, wishing him success in his distraction.
Chewy would be sure they haven't followed before sniffing out the others after he is able to get past. The job made easier by the rarity of his companion's race.
Conscious of the party presence, save from Sylvio’s, the guards completely ignore Chewy’s approach. Maybe it was trust on their heavy armor, maybe they were used to dealing with dogs. Their order is one made from nobility and it is common knowledge that nobles enjoy their hunts, generally done in the company of well trained hounds. Gabriel ideal finds more success as his rudimentary spell bypasses the mind defenses of the man who first noted the group. He stops, putting the right hand over his head. Well, actually, over his helmet. The gesture itself was enough to demonstrate pain and the aasimar could be sure his attack had worked.
Pain jolts through the body of the soldier and the spike of psychic energy is driven through his mind. He grunts, then shakes his head. The attention of the other two men-at-arms moves to their companion but he starts to walk again. It was hard to say from that distance if the man said to the others to keep moving, but they all turned their eyes back to the party of adventurers. Their mannerism suggested training – rigid, fast, efficient. Almost rehearsed.
In few second they were thirty feet closer. Why didn’t they call for reinforcements? They were attacked and even if they could not tell by which of the four they watched it was impossible to not think it was one of them.
“I’m guessing you are the group Ironwood sent yesterday so hold your spells. We are not your enemies.” Said one of the guards lifting the visor of his helmet. He was a human appearing to be on his late-twenties to early to thirthies. His beard was kept beard. Blue eyes, black hair, aquiline nose. “Ironwood called on some favors with the command of the Guard and as result a lot of us are looking around for the lot of you.” He continued lowering the tone of his voice so only Amadi, Gabriel, Sunny and Sweeps. “Gundwynd called on their hipogriffs riders and is asking for your heads. The Captain thinks you found something on the state and wants you back at the Castle.”
“Iwan, there is one missing.” Said the soldier attacked by Gabriel.

Amadi also pauses, knowing that they have not only been seen, but there was little chance that they could escape at this time. He studied the men speaking trying to discern their true intent.
Sylvio remains in the shadows with a hand on his scimitar, waiting to see what the guards do next. They could be telling the truth, or they could be trying to trap them. But why would they trap them like this when they could just call an alarm and surround them? How is he supposed to tell if someone is lying with their face covered by a helmet?
His eyes narrow, an honest way out, or a deeper deception? He waits to make his judgment…

Sweeps eyes the guards with suspicion, but pauses “Ironwood sent you? What luck. We are just on our way to see him to make our report. We are going to stop at the temple first, to clean up and heal our wounds.” Sweeps gestures to the gore still covering them “Why don’t you hurry back to the Captain and let him know we are on our way?” Persuasion: 21.

Sunny glances back to see Chewy rush by pretending to be after another target and knows he will soon find them and follow as per his training.
She is hopeful at the comments and lack of call to arms from the guards but leaves the diplomacy to the others. Her experience with the group has shown that they are wise in their choices and trusts them well now. Amadi narrows his eyes and studies the man as he speaks. He mulls it in his mind for just a moment and then speaks. "I am Amadi Shadeflame, Cleric of Gond and member of standing with the Splendid Order of Armorers, Locksmiths, & Finesmiths. You should also be aware that I am also registered with the Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors (see here). At this moment I think you mean us no harm. We have seen that House Gundwynd has sent the Black Boar Tribe to exact their justice. I, at least, will go with you. Take us to Captain Ironwood so that we may make our report."
Gabriel holds his hands out, palms up in a mixtuire of apology and peace offering. "My apologies, we are a little jumpy. If you need me to heal any damage I'd be happy to do so, by way of recompense"
As the others move to comply with the guard's request, Sunny steps forward to introduce herself and add "Yes, please take us to the captain quickly. There is much to relay."
