"Yeah, I guess we´ll just have to blast them with everything we got once it opens." Ruby says. "But I think that securing the other exit is a good idea Wake. Who knows how many are there."
“Alright, so how about I cast Bless as the lever is pulled. I walk in 20’ Dodgeing and hopefully drawing all of their fire. You all follow and end them. Are you all ready?”
“Depending on what it looks like on the other side, I may dash to the other door instead of dodge. I don’t want them to have time to fashion another bar for the other door to block us in. I will focus on keeping that door open.”
At this point Elwyn wakes up yawning. "What's with talking, you all look like you're going into a fight....oh, we are." He finishes and grabs his tentacle-shaped wand. "I'm ready."
All - Daveth pulls the lever and the stone door rumbles down into the foundation of the cellar. It isn't halfway down when shouts and curses begin erupting in the room beyond. Three rough looking men are scrambling out of their bedrolls as Wake steps into the breach.
Let's roll for initiative! Because of how long it takes for the hidden door to open, neither the party nor the enemies are surprised when combat begins.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Yes, as the triton said Ned. It's time for payback, as in you returning that cloak and dagger I gave you."Elwyn says angrily as he finally gets out of the comfy bed and spots the traitorous old man. He then swiftly curses Ned and sends a blue beam of crackling eldritch force towards him.
Elwyn - In your haste to chastise the cur your blast misses altogether. It instead crashes into the stone wall beside him. He will sneer at you and say, "Oh, you can have it back!" as he brandishes the loaned dagger in one hand.
Ruby - Bandit 1 will take an attack of opportunity and swipe at you with his scimitar as you rush past. The man whips the blade at you in one smooth motion as he draws it from its scabbard, carving a deep slash across your upper arm and across your hip.
Attack: 22 Damage: 7
Both of your attacks on Bandit 2 connect as he fumbles for his weapon. He cries out in pain as you gash and gouge him with your daggers.
Bandit 2 will attempt to swipe back at you with his scimitar. He also manages to hit you, adding another red slash across your body.
Attack: 18 Damage: 4
Ned will throw Elwyn's dagger at Ruby. The blade buries itself to the hilt in her back and she drops onto the dirty bedroll beneath her. The Bandit next to her will spit on her with a muttered "B*tch!" as he holds his side. Ned will then make a run for the door.
He will reach down and cast Cure Wounds on Ruby and urge her to stay prone (until the start of her next turn) to allow attacks over the top of her without providing the enemy cover.
