At seeing Rhogal being whisked away he lets out a "Shite" then pulls a javelin out and tosses it at the tendril holding the dwarf, figuring a 25ft fall might be better than a 50ft one
Wanting to not find out what sort of creature is dragging him up, Rhogal awakens the fungus within his staff with a cry of "Panellus!" strikes at the tendril dragging him up. The motion kick up some spores onto the tendril (Halo of Spores). He hopes the combination of blunt-force trauma and rot will do it in.
Taking an unusual silent approach, Hun launches another accurately-aimed frosty vial, which crashes on the creature's tough exterior. Mr. Thicc remains ready to attack upon being commanded to do so, his motor revving up pure arcane force. (Stalactite takes 4 cold damage.)
Krodhen had taken a similar strategy a moment ago but now favors one of his sharpened javelins. He aims for the tendril wrapped around Rhogal but pulls his throw in the last second as to avoid hurting his companion. The dwarf also tries to finish off the same tendril, but needs two attempts to do so. The swing of his hardened staff is avoided, but the rot spores kicked up finish the job. (Tendril#1 takes 4 necrotic damage. and is BROKEN.)
-> Fall damage: 10 (10) (Rhogal takes 10 bludgeoning damage.)
-> Rhogal's acrobatics against falling prone {DC 12}: 26 (that should have been a 22.)
Choosing to stay away from the creature, Kairus shoots one of Eeyal's bolts out of his crossbow. The tortle's gift is one of good luck. The bolt punctures the creature's tough hide and forces an inky black liquid out. (Stalactite takes 10 piercing damage.)
The bard's subsequent inspirational words come in a second or two too late, but Rhogal feels just as inspired (Bardic Inspiration.)
Still flying at the creature's face, Yulmiath unleashes two more slashes of his handaxes. (Stalactite takes 20 slashing damage.)
(@MB: As discussed in the OOC chat, I'm adding the damage from the post-Blessed attack here. I'm including it in this turn's attack.)
(OOC: The last attack above was the bite, not a fifth tendril.)
(@Ori: Since I oversaw the fact that Mr. Thicc can't get surprised at the top of this encounter, I'll make it up to you by giving him a second reaction this turn so that the readied attack can still trigger.)
Mr. Thicc goes on a momentary unexpected overdrive. The construct avoids the tendril trying to scoop him up, slaps away the one coming for Krodhen, and then releases his accumulated arcane force onto the one wrapping itself around Hun. Although this third tendril is damaged, it still has enough strength to finish its attack and scoop the kobold up once more. (Tendril#5 takes 6 force damage.)
Rhogal watches as another tendril struggles with his leather armor before recoiling. Yulmiath narrowly avoids the surprise bite trying to gob him up.
14. Hun & Mr. Thicc (27/27 and 18/21; green) - both are Blessed, Hun is 25ft up, grappled, restrained, and has disadvantage on STR checks and saving throws;
13. Krodhen (28/28; orange) - concentrating on Bless (7);
10. Yulmiath (35/35; red) - 45ft in the air, Blessed,Fly, Rage (7);
04. Stalactite (+ 5 tendrils) - 50ft up;

NOTES: The pink and green formations are regular mushrooms. The party arrived from the northeast.
(Hun, Krodhen , Rhogal, Kairus, and Yulmiath, may all take their turns. Hun may choose to try to escape the grapple with an athletics or acrobatics check, but the former is rolled with disadvantage.)

"Not agaaaiiiin!" Hun exclaims as he's once more yoinked back up into the air. "Freaking Friddle Sticks! Fudge it! Just... Don't worry about me! Focus on the main mass!" The Kobold barks out to those below, knowing all too well how sentimental some of them could get at times. But while he silently prayed that for his advice to be heeded, his body would stay in motion in squirming about for just that little bit of room to fire another frostfire bomb from a seemingly endless source of the stuff.
This time no orders were to be given to Mr. Thicc, and quite intentionally so, if but to make sure the construct stayed focus on guarding those nearby it.
Action(Hun): Cast (Cantrip)Frostfire Bomb at main body. Con Save(DC 14) or take 3 Cold Damage + have disadvantage on its next attack.
Bonus Action(Hun): Command Mr. Thicc to Ready to attack a Tendril that targets an ally(Prioritizing Hun or Kairus).

"You got it, Grandpa!" The bolt worked (to Kairus's great surprise) but instead of repeating a successful attempt, he decided to try something new. A spell, this time. The triton stepped out of his hiding and sent a harsh string of noises toward the creature on the ceiling. "
Annoyed with the miss and hearing Hun's call, Krodhen goes to pull another javelin out but changes his mind figuring a 50ft vertical throw would have little chance of making an impact.
He instead readies an attack to strike at tendrils, protecting Rhogal, then Mr Thicc as priorities over himself.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Oh, I'm gonna feel that all day... Xylaria!" Rhogal groans after miraculously landing on his feet. He turns back upwards and sends more necrotizing spores on the living rocky thing.
Noticing that the enemy is heavily dripping its vital fluids, Hun encourages the others to focus their fire on the main body. He leads by example by building on top of previously inflicted frostbite. In the meantime, Mr. Thicc is left to focus on defensive efforts. (Stalactite takes 2 cold damage.)
Krodhen decides to wait until a better opportunity to strike presents itself despite the kobold's directive. Rhogal is more loyal to the artificer's request, but his deadly spores miss the mark once again.
Kairus makes it all better by whispering foul magic in the creature's direction. Not having to deal with the creature's carapace, the psychic attack assails its mind directly, overloading its small brain and causing it to kick the proverbial bucket. (Stalactite takes 19 psychic damage and is DEFEATED.)
By the time Yulmiath slashes the creature's exterior, it is already dead. Until now hidden, its hundreds of tiny little claws release their grip on the ceiling and the creature comes tumbling down. The tendrils go limp and Hun comes crashing down as well. The fake stalactite hits the ground hard, creating a rumble across the cavern. Luckily, no one was directly underneath it.
(@Ori: As I know Hun has feather fall I'll leave it up to you to either cast the spell or roll 2d6 worth of fall damage.)
WE ARE NOW OUT OF INITIATIVE. YOU MAY DO AS YOU WILL.
Yulmiath follows the ceiling squid's body down to the ground before whatever spell Karius cast wears off.
"Karius, I can see why you prefer this is climbing. Hun, you ok?"
Tucking one of his hand axes away, he rummages in his pack for a healing potion, offering it to the kobold with the now free hand. Should Hun not need it, Yulmiath will tuck it away before pointing to the Snack Pack's likely next meal.
"Do we think this might cook up like normal squid? Low and slow or quick in hot oil?"
Should the group want to take some, Yulmiath will hack off some of its tentacles for later coming.
"Just cut it open and see if there is meat inside. Then we can bake it like a crab." Kairus checked if the bolt survived the impact not expecting it to be the case, though. If Yulmiath needed help to hack-open the cave-squid, he would help (or let professionals like Hun deal with it). "All set? Would not mind getting out of these caves sooner rather than later."
Despite every instinct demanding otherwise, Hun held back on deploying any safety measures beyond the physically and mentally preparing to try and hit the ground rolling to mitigate some of the damage.
Acrobatics: 12. (For Flavor, if nothing else. If Dex Save would also be viable, here's a 2 from bless to add to such a save. Use otherwise the same numbers above)
However, no matter his efforts a fall at such height knocks the wind surely out of the old Kobold, leaving him haunched over before long with Mr. Thicc soon worrying over him. "No.. Save it. I'll.. *cough*... I'll be fine."He replied, waving off the offered potion, befoer slowly straightening out once more to take things in.
"Hmn... All good points. Might be tough getting through that rocky exterior, but-..."He pulls out his mason tools and hands it over to Mr. Thicc. "Nothing I ain't... prepared to... handle..." With that, he trails off grumbling something about his back, but proceeded all the same over to the remains. "Give me just a few minutes. Hour at worse. And have look around too. I'm not expert, but it didn't strike as something to horde crap. But, that don't mean its victims remains aren't yet nearby!" Hun further asserts, and if left to the work on harvesting at least the main body of the creature, he would do so with a gusto with a bit of a enchanted pick me-up and some help from the construct.
Harvesting: 11. (Wasn't sure if the roll would require, so presume if anything, it would be survival.)
(He'll in hinsight after the above try to identify the creature, and see if its even a good idea to eat it. Otherwise, he'll keep whatever he can salvage for artificer shenanigans later.)
Nature: 9. (Plus Guidance: 4! And if arcana would be more appropriate, add another +2[/roll].)

It comes as a surprise to no one that Yul’s and the party’s first thought upon achieving victory is whether they can pad their stomachs and supplies of rations with meat from the strange creature. Before they can start carving up the creature, Hun asks for a few moments to study it. He promises to carve it up as he analyses the monster.
Here is what the kobold comes up with after channeling his idol, Volo. First, he finally remember the creature’s name: Roper. Regarding its main weapon, each tendril sends out hair-like growths that penetrate a target’s flesh and sap its strength, so the victim can struggle only weakly as the roper reels it in. If a tendril is cut through or broken, the roper produces a new one to replace it. Concerning the main mass, the roper really is formed mostly of rock on its exterior. Cutting into it, the artificer concludes that this monstrosity has quite an alien anatomy to it. It is basically one large digestive system with a hard protective exterior, a small brain and vascular system, and not much else beyond its eye and toothy maw. There isn’t much extra meat here, which could be attributed to the roper’s little need to move around.
It is not all lost though. Two things catch the kobold’s eye. First there is a large sack of reserved digestive juices. Hun thinks he can use it as a powerful solvent and, should he choose not to use it himself, he should be able to fetch a good price for the stuff from other artificers or alchemists. Second, Krodhen’s hunch is right. There is a large organ in here, let’s call it a gizzard, that is being used to store whatever refuse the creature’s anatomy decided it was indigestible. There is not much inside this gizzard that is recognizable beyond a mass of toxic goo, but one item seems to have resisted the test of time and acidity. An incredibly dirty but undamaged flail is still quite functional. It is impossible to know how long it has been within the creature but it’s good condition likely suggests it is an enchanted item. How else could it withstand those powerful digestive juices?
Hun is not confident about eating the creature as if it were a regularly hunted woodland beast. Even with all of his analysis, there is much about this strange monstrosity he doesn’t understand. It could be risky, he concludes.
In terms of getting out of here, Kairus sees a path to his left and another to his right (as per the map).
