As the one contingency failed Hun's mind raced to the others; only to then realize just how incomplete, impossible, or dangerous the next few to come to mind. His thoughts grew grim, but with a determination to survive that would rival even the goblins, Hun redoubled his efforts to fight against the current in hopes of at least slowing his drift down long enough for others to catch up. If he could just grasp onto a sunken boulder or debris wedged in the murk below all the better.
Meanwhile Mr. Thicc continued to double time(if need be) to his creator with the aid of the current with a single minded drive to grab him and bring him to the surface; the symbol of Gond having begun to glow faintly as the construct rushed to fulfill its duties.
Kairus'goal remained the same - keep the canoe in tow, while he is searching for the tree or a rock to fix the collective rope. Should one be spotted, he will try to do that.

Given he can only see one Packer in need from his current position, Yulmiath knows where he needs to be. Twisting his body in the water, Yulmiath aims himself towards the largest dwarf he has ever seen. Cutting through the water like a fish, he pushes into Rhogal's form in an attempt to help push the dwarf's head above water.
(OOC: I'll wait to get clarification on @Drache's rolls to resolve Yulmiath's and Rhogal's turns. Same goes for @Muggshill and Krodhen, though I may have to continue auto-piloting him.)
@Kairus: From your vantage point, you can see the other bank of this very wide river. That said, you are still quite far away from it. The accident happened somewhere in the first third of your crossing, and even though you managed to keep a hold of the canoe (via rope) you are not exerting enough force at the moment to pull the canoe very far. There is a lot of distance for you to cover before you can tie up the canoe on the far end of the river, and the vehicle is still upturned and partially underwater. You make some progress, but it is only a fraction of the trip ahead, and every foot you move you take the canoe farther away from your companions.
@Hun & @Mr. Thicc: You continue to uncontrollably tumble underwater, failing to grasp any rocks, plants, or fallen trees on the way. You move another 60ft away from the group. The construct moves with the single-mindedness that only a robot can have. The river current adds to Mr. Thicc's speed, allowing him to move 100ft this turn and catching up to Hun, no thanks to the artificer himself. Master and defender are now close enough to try their next step in this rescue attempt.
Wasting little time, Mr. Thicc immediately snatches up Hun and hugs him close, confusing the Kobold all the more until recognizing the press of metal against his face. With a still yet strained focus from every problem yet besieging him, Hun took a moment to try and feel out the current while the construct did his best to at least kept them steady and swimming with the current. After which, to the best of his ability, a few taps against the metal chasis and directive gestures from Hun would spur Mr. Thicc on a surfacing yet angular course for the nearest bank(by Hun's judgement), keeping with the flow to minimalize resistance to their efforts.
If they could reach river side the party intended to all the better. But as survival was far more important to Hun, so long as his finding put him closer to land, he'd worry about figuring out how to cross later!
Hun's Survival: 16. (Or if able to use Investigation instead to pick up context clues from debris patterns, any curvature of the river bottom, or etc, using that instead, adding a +6)
Thicc's Athletics(if needed): 12.

@Rhogal & @Yulmiath: The dragon born has to voluntarily ride the current for a bit in order to reach the dwarf, but the plan works well. Rhogal manages to regain his swimming form, doing just enough to stay in place such that Yulmiath can reach and help him. Now secured by the barbarian, Rhogal can be carried away by the magically enhance swimming prowess granted to the barbarian by his hood and cloak. Yulmiath and Rhogal are no longer in danger but still need to decide how to resolve their predicament.
@Krodhen: The paladin of Tyr has to continuously move on top of the water to avoid being carried away. Even running, he finds himself losing a few feet relative to the canoe. Krodhen is no longer in danger but still need to decide how to get out of this watery "conveyor belt".
@Hun & @ Mr. Thicc: With the construct finally helping stabilize the artificer, Hun can get a better read on his aquatic surroundings. His problem-solving mind fires up and, a few seconds later, the kobold gives new orders to Mr. Thicc. Soon, the pair is well on its way to the same bank they had departed, that one being much closer than their original destination. Hun and Mr. Thicc are no longer in danger and on their way to safety.
@Kairus: You have stable control of the canoe and has now noticed that Mr.Thicc and Hun are swimming back to the closer bank, which is the opposite one to the bank you were slowly advancing towards. Kairus was never in danger.
(OOC To help speed things up should Krodhen and Karius break for the other bank, Yully is happy to let a d2 decide where he ends up. 1 - Bank with Hun and Mr. Thicc. 2 - The other side of the river. Which side does Yully go for? 1.)

After pushing himself onto his elbows and then into a more seated position, Hun couldn't help but sigh seeing at least most of the others across the way.
If Rhogal too appeared to be missing... well, he wasn't going back swimming any time soon. Plus surely they others could help the druid well enough! So in the meantime, he'd wait for Kairus to inevitably fly over with whoever else, and instead set about checking on Mr. Thicc to make sure the more extreme conditions hadn't knocked something loose. Once in contact with at least someone without needing to yell he'd say without looking up, "Before any of you ask, no. There's probably no narrower part of the river, or at least none that wouldn't set us back anyhow from what I recall of Young Green's remark on the area. But if you insist, you'll hear no complaint for me. But unless being carried or flown across, I ain't dealing with that river any more than we've had to today, /that's/ for certain!"

Rhogal does not have to think twice about where safety lies. Boosting his effort magically, and still with some stabilizing help from Yulmiath, the dwarf swims back to the original river bank. Yulmiath tries to look around for his companions. He can easily see those above the water surface (Kairus and Krodhen) and then a mass of sploshing water representing the swimming dwarf nearby. He still cannot see Hun, that is, not until the dragonborn also reaches the nearest bank.
The party's paladin helps the bard flip the canoe over to its proper position, making sure to hold it at an angle at first to let most of the water drain. Krodhen signals to the others and Kairus relents. The party seems to be gathering at the near bank to reassess their options. Either by flying or walking on water, this duo also eventually makes their way back to the rest of the group.
Hun and Mr. Thicc were the first two to reach the safety of the nearest riverbank. Unfortunately, this is the side of the river opposite of your destination. It takes some time but Yulmiath and Rhogal eventually reach you. Some time later, Krodhen and Kairus do too, along with the canoe.

Clambering up onto the river bank, Yulmiath shakes himself like a dog in an attempt to get some of the riverwater off him. Sitting on the ground, he looks to the other Packers.
"Do we want to try that again? Or should we take the long way around?"
"Looks like unless our friend Rhogal is able to take the shape of a water animal, we are out of luck. I mean, swimming is an option. As well as water-walking for one of us, but not for all, or for the canoe."
As Yulmiath and Kairus begin to discuss alternate ideas, or perhaps just giving it another try, a thought comes to the dragonborn's mind: the river flow was not this intense the last two times the group had to cross. Perhaps this is due to the recent bout of rain showers. It doesn't look like rain now, so perhaps the group can simply wait for the flow to diminish. It might take a couple of hours or it might take a full day, but the water flow is bound to slow down at some point.
Interlinking his fingers, Yulmiath places his hands behind his head and lies back on the damp earth of the river bank.
"Could also sit back and have a little rest. River might just calm itself down if we give it the chance. Probably make attempt number two at crossing go a little smoother?"
"Can not fly anymore," sighed Kairus, "but some do look like the rest will help. Well, it's not like we are in a hurry anyway. Let's rest!"
Should anyone utilize the rest for the meaning of healing the wounds, Kairus would play soothing music of healing to speed up the process.
(Song of Rest: If you or any friendly creatures who can hear your performance regain hit points at the end of the short rest by spending one or more Hit Dice, each of those creatures regains an extra 1d6 hit points.)
Rhogal is not trusting that they'll be left alone while waiting for the river to calm. So he keeps an eye out for any opportunistic predators, or any of tribal cannibals interested in revenge.
"Technically we are still, young blue... Sorta. BUT, it's fine either way. If anyone is planning to explore the area a bit more should things not calm in the next hour, just make sure you don't get too far." Hun requests without breaking his gaze away from the maintenance work on Mr. Thicc. "And don't be gone too long if any of ya plan to go tottering off for a bit!"On that note, he had most certainly eyed Kairus and waggled a finger. But then he smirked and went back work at a casual pace, trusting Mr. Thicc to keep an eye on things in the meantime.
