Kairus' experiment seemed to confirm some of the theories Hun had shared just a moment earlier. Despite some hesitation, the group has a good discussion on whether they should take the plunge and let the orb teleport them, or if using the throne's transmutative powers might offer a good alternative. Weighing the relative risks of these options, Rhogal and even Hun begin to lean toward the throne option.
Before making a decision, Yulmiath asks if there is anywhere in the temple left unexplored. Kairus remembers a southbound dark hallway leading away from the treasure room and agrees it might be a good idea to investigate that first. Hearing no dissents, the bard bypasses the treasure room trap with the aid of his Umberlee necklace and takes a peek down the hallway in question.
The hallway turns out to be shorter than Kairus may have expected. After some 20 or so feet, the triton finds himself in a T-shaped intersection. There are two other wooden doors in this area: one is 10 feet west the intersection and the other is 10 feet east of it. These two sets of double doors have circle handles instead of knobs, and they have no obvious locking mechanism.
MAP:
(OOC: I updated the map above before seeing @Ori's latest post, but you can all assume you are closer to Kairus's position since Hun is making sure the trap doesn't trigger while the party is reentering the treasure room.)
Yulmiath warily eyes the two massive crushing stones. Flashes of the original Mr. Thicc's final moments blinkinto his mind unbidden and the big dragonborn gulps a bit of bile back down into his stomach. Kairus is very far away down that corridor.
"Didn't we find another one of those necklaces? If we're heading down there, can we make sure we've got it with us?"
Kairus would assist too with passing through the trap if needed. However, he could not multiply the necklace. "One is mine and one is on Mrs. Thinn at the moment. Can probably get on the other side and throw to the next person but since standing here works - why bother?"
Once everyone safely re-entered the room and the small hall was discovered, Kairus gave both doors a long stare choosing which one to open. "Left or right?"Finally, he just shrugged and pulled the handle of the left door.
Although the memory of Mr. Thicc's demise is quite fresh, the Snackers move past the active trap with the help of their two Umberlee emblems. Once down the southern hallway, Kairus does not linger too long at the intersection. He picks the door to his left and pulls it open with ease.
Hanging by a chain from the ceiling of this dark, rectangular room is an old diver’s cage with barnacles clinging to it. The cage is eight feet tall, five feet in diameter, and dangles two feet off the floor. There is an assortment of bones within the cage. Tattered rugs are splayed out before it. Other furnishings include bare shelves and painted clay urns, all covered in dust and cobwebs.
Kairus looked over the small room and then stared a while at the cage with disgust. "I am beginning to think those people who live here were not very nice people."He stepped aside (say, MM 85) letting others look inside the room too. "So... Want me to shoot these urns? Or should we just close the door to this tomb and move on?"
Hun, who had taken a back seat in discussing things to examine the nearby architecture along the way, couldn't help snorting at Kairus' 'epiphany'. But he held back on making an remark on the subject in favor of saying instead, "If we're to play exterminator for the kids, then no. Better to get to shooting and sorting out any trouble." He replied to Kairus.
"Although I half-suspect it'll be a futile effort, as no doubt some other critters will find there way inside in due time."He let out an exasperated sigh before begining the process once more of adjusting his goggles, assuming nothing untoward came of Yulmiath's door. "Either way, Give me ten everyone. I need to refocus the lenses again and make sure there's no magical shacannery going on as well."

Kairus let Hun work in peace and returned to the main room for now. Not that this room was better decorated or contained fewer remains of unlucky adventurers, but at least they died free and the face of Umberlee looked better than the rusty cage.
He did take a peek at the next room, though, that Yulmiath opened. Just to know what to shoot in the near future, mostly.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The sight of the diving cage is all that Kairus needs to consider skipping this room altogether. Even Yulmiath thinks this might not be worth getting closer to and decides to save some time by checking the other door. He reaches for the handle and pulls it, revealing a similar but smaller room. This dark, rectangular room contains a seven-foot-tall glass statue of a scowling woman with octopus tentacles for arms emerging from dark ocean waves. By now, there is no doubt concerning the statue's subject. It would seem that little else can be found in this room other than the three dusty rugs that lie at the statue’s base.
Back in the other room, Hun snorts and disagrees with the others' suggestion that the cage and its room might not be worth examining, lest some unknown danger claims another tortle life in the near future. The kobold begins to adjust his lenses in order to better study the room. By now, Kairus had stepped aside to let the others have a better look inside but, hearing Hun ask for ten minutes to calibrate his equipment, the bard decides to join Yulmiath instead.
It turns out that stepping into the room by a mere 5 feet already came at a cost. As Kairus turns to leave, his foot brushes the tassel adorning the corner of the largest rug in the room. The ornate piece of worked fabric springs to life, surprising the triton and the party.

Hun pauses in his adjustments to just stare at Kairus struggling for a moment, before sighing and shaking his head. "Mrs. Thinn. Do be a dear and untangle Kairus from that rug." Hun requests as fingers continued to nimbly follow through on the goggle adjustments. Mrs. Thinn in turn clacks her fingers together, before then rushing on inside to start trying to tug and pull the triton at least free of the confines of the rug. Or had the Triton readily wiggled himself free, she'd grab on to rug and tug it northwards further away from everyone else.
Bonus Action(Hun): Command Mrs. Thinn to Wrastle the rug away from Kairus.
Action(Hun): Continue Ritual Casting.
Movement(Hun): If allowed, Hun will move to ML-82.
Movement(Mrs. Thinn): To MK-85.
Action(Mrs. Thinn): Attempt to break Kairus free of the grapple (or if Kairus already freed himself, attempt to grapple the rug instead.) - 13.
Movement(Mrs. Thinn-Remaining): If grappling instead of freeing Kairus, MJ-85.
Future Reaction(Mrs. Thinn): Deflect Attack vs 1st attack against Kairus.

The muffled hissing from inside the dusty roll would be an envy of the snake ball. Kairus was properly pissed and expressed his frustration in a fitting manner.
Trapped and starting to suffocate, Kairus reacts as aggressively as he can. A magically-loaded hiss uses some of the limited air within the rug but it should show the enemy who is in control here. Except, it doesn't. The spell leaves the triton's mouth but never finds anything to land on. As it turns out, the rug has no mind to be influenced.
Guessing the carpet has collected its fair amount of dust and mold, Rhogal calls on the latter to grow. This spell lands with no trouble, but the growing mold does not know how to distinguish between captor and captive. Kairus feels some of the spell's bite as well. (Rug of Smothering takes 2 necrotic damage; Kairus takes 2 necrotic damage.)
Sure that this is but a small hurdle, Hun continues to focus on his ritual and asks Mrs. Thinn to help the others on his behalf. The automaton moves forward and nonchalantly yanks the carpet from around Kairus, effectively reintroducing the bard to fresh air. (Kairus is no longer grappled, restrained, blinded or suffocating.)
Not quite ready to let go of its prize, the rug attempts to wrap itself around Kairus once more. The element of surprise is now gone, and Mrs. Thinn still has a hand on her fellow construct.
-> Smother vs. Kairus(Deflect Attack): Attack: 12. On a hit, target becomes grappled, restrained, blinded and begins suffocating.

-> Flail, +1 vs Rug of Smothering: Attack: 8 Damage: 6 (24,13)
The paladin delivers a powerful blow, and there is no prisoner inside the rug to share the damage! (Rug of Smothering takes 13 magical bludgeoning damage.)
(@MB: Yulmiath starts his turn 40ft away from the carpet, and since Kairus, Krodhen, and Mrs.Thinn are all in front of the carpet, Yulmiath would actually need to move 45ft to get to a spot to attack. That's not all. Rhogal and Hun are blocking the hallway, so you'd need an extra 5ft of movement to account for one square of difficult terrain, for a total of 50ft of movement needed to get in a position to attack the enemy. If you don't dash this turn, you can only move 20ft because the last 10ft would be used to move into either Rhogal's or Hun's square, and you can't end you turn there. So, please reconsider your turn.)

Seeing his way into the room blocked, Yulmiath briefly considers pulling a javelin from his pack and taking aim but the forest of bodies in the way discourages him. Wouldn't be all that helpful if he skewered one of his own companions. Still, the mystery of why this place is empty is starting to come together.
"Living furniture that wants to kill you? No wonder whoever lived here before left! It all makes sense now!"
Unable to enter the fray himself given the cramped quarters, Yulmiath turns to make sure nothing sneaks up on his fellow Packers. He scans the furniture in the other room, watching for twitching fabrics or angry looking curtains. He does not lock eyes with the statue of Umberlee.
